Chapter 126: Jailbreak
Back to the northern part of the academy.
There, hidden by the trees and vegetation was the tower, which was simultaneously used as the disciplinary committee’s headquarters and as Loogam’s prison.
Dayn, one of the four A-rank demons, was located there and previously engaged in a conversation with Hecto Togin, a prisoner.
However, the talk did not last long as the Grand Order member, Elsa Sunoma, arrived.
"Shit...! It’s getting freaking cold here!"
Hecto was hugging himself, trying to fight against the cold. His nose began to sniff and his entire body was shaking.
"Now then... Do you care to explain what you’re planning with that man?" Elsa asked.
Despite being in the presence of an A-rank demon, she did not show an ounce of fear or nervousness. Instead, she was smirking like usual.
"And what makes you think that I would do what you say?" Dayn replied.
Dayn appeared irritated, which was also due to the fact that Hecto was getting on his nerves a few moments ago.
It got colder.
"..."
Elsa remained unfazed by Dayn’s intimidating glare.
"H-hey, don’t tell me you’re about to fight h-here?!" Hecto chimed in, stuttering from the cold.
Dayn and Elsa looked apathetically at Hecto.
Then, she sighed.
"Here. Free yourself and the others." she ordered, throwing a bundle with multiple keys into Hecto’s cell.
"You’re letting them escape from here?" Dayn asked with a grin.
"Even though they’re supposed to be imprisoned here, we can’t risk their safety by turning this place into a battlefield." she responded, shrugging her shoulders.
Meanwhile, Hecto hurriedly tried to free himself, and when he succeeded, he immediately descended to the tower’s lower floors.
Seeing that, Elsa crackled her knuckles.
Her smirk widened.
"Enough talking now. As a demon, you know what your fate is, right?"
The pressure Dayn emitted got heavier.
"Are these your last words, you cocky human?"
The prisoners below wondered for a long time what was going on above them, however, that curiosity vanished quickly as they heard something akin to an explosion up there.
From outside, one could only witness how the tower’s top was crumbling down.
Elsa, with her hands in her jacket’s pockets, was falling down with her back facing the ground, whereas Dayn was chasing after her.
He attempted a punch but before it could connect, Elsa kicked his arm away and at the same time used this momentum to push herself up, switching her position with Dayn.
She created a big ice nail in her hand and pierced it into the tower’s wall, stopping her fall.
Dayn turned around as he kept falling.
Then, Elsa pulled herself slightly up and raised her legs up.
She pushed herself off the ice nail with her feet, accelerating towards the falling Dayn.
In her hand, she quickly created an ice sword.
She intended to slash him but Dayn evaded it by spreading his wings and changing the trajectory of his fall.
"..."
Still, Elsa managed to leave a shallow cut on his chest.
Flying in the air, Dayn looked down on Elsa, who just landed on the ground.
And while the two were about to begin the real fight outside the tower, Hecto was busy with freeing the other prisoners.
But after freeing three other people, he got impatient.
"Why the hell am I even doing this?!"
He wildly ruffled his hair.
Following that, he shifted his gaze to another freed prisoner.
"You! Take this and continue helping the others! I have to take care of something else!" he ordered annoyedly, shoving the keys into the person’s chest before walking away.
"..."
Witnessing that scene from his cell was Gerard.
Even though the tournament was ongoing, Gerard was not allowed to go there. Thus, he remained in his cell.
"Who’s that person? I’ve never heard his voice here before..." Gerard muttered confused.
In the time, he was in the prison, he got to know everyone here as a prisoner had nothing to do besides communicating with the fellow prisoners. But it seemed like there were possibly some people, who intentionally did not engage in small talk with the others.
Gerard was pondering before it was his turn to get unchained.
"Was he maybe the person on the highest floor?"
"Haha, as if..."
On the highest floor was one of the most dangerous people on earth.
Gerard laughed off his own hypothesis, after all, there was no way for such a person to look and sound so carefree as he did.
That was what he thought at that moment.
But it was true.
"Couldn’t those two wait until we’re away?!" Hecto complained under his breath as he exited the tower.
"..."
He suddenly stood still, taking a moment to look up to the sky.
"How long has it been since I was outside without security around me...?"
Although this should have been an emotional moment, he had an indifferent gaze.
"And of all times, the sky had to be grey..." he said, sighing.
Hecto took his time to look around the tower.
His gaze fixated on an object once it entered his field of vision.
"There it is..."
He headed towards the part of the tower, which fell down from above due to Elsa and Dayn.
It was in crumbles.
But it did not affect Hecto as he began to rummage through the rubble.
"That damn Lucio... Ordering the disciplinary committee to confiscate them..." he mumbled frustratedly.
The more he rummaged through the rubble, the more items, that belonged to the committee’s headquarters, resurfaced.
A couch, a picture of the members, a banner with the committee’s name, trophies and other achievements.
But they did not matter to Hecto.
He threw one thing after another to the back.
"?"
Then, he stumbled upon a cardboard box.
He pulled it out and looked into its contents.
His eyebrows twitched at the sight.
"You’re kidding me..."
Inside were multiple strange-looking weapons but most of them were destroyed due to the past fall.
"That damn Xander brat...! Is that how you took care of my babies even though I was the one to give that dagger to you...?!"
He raised an enraged fist in front of his face, gritting his teeth.
It was as if his veins were about to burst.
But after taking a deep breath, he calmed down a little.
"I will whoop his ass later. First of all, I should-"
His hand reached for the last sword, which was still intact.
However, at that moment he noticed the presence of two demons.
One B-rank and one C-rank demon were on the way to the tower.
"Tch. Are they after me, too?"
Usually, if he had time to prepare, then dealing with those demons would not have been a big problem but given the current circumstances, his situation looked grim.
But then, he saw how one after another prisoner escaped the prison.
Hecto flashed a smirk.
"With those numbers, we can maybe fight back..." he muttered slyly.
He took out the sword and headed to the group of jailbreakers.
At the same time, Dayn and Elsa were facing off.
"Oh my, could it be that you asked for reinforcements?" Elsa mocked Dayn with an unwavering smirk.
"..."
Dayn did not fall for her provocation as he looked in the direction of the two flying demons.
"What are those idiots thinking...?"
He spread his black wings and was about to head over to them.
"!"
However, a tall ice spike emerged from the ground, causing Dayn to dodge to the side.
"..."
Slightly agitated, he shifted his eyes to Elsa.
"Who said you could run away from me?"
Then, Dayn slowly descended to the ground.
"To think a demon would provoke me, a demon..."
He cracked his neck.
"Alright, I will grant you your death wish, woman."
His tone turned threatening.
And then, changes in his body occurred.
"?"
Elsa’s smirk vanished as she tilted her head.
Dayn’s body grew larger and larger.
Eventually, his shadow would fall on Elsa and the trees behind her.
The tower, whose top was destroyed, was still tall.
However, said tower appeared small in comparison to the now gigantic Dayn.
The birds in the surroundings flew away.
"Tremble in fear in front of my mighty appearance!"
His voice was so loud that everyone on the academy grounds could hear him.
"..."
Elsa did not seem impressed.
"Is that all?" freēwēbnovel.com
"Hm?"
"Is getting bigger everything you can-"
Before she could finish her phrase, Dayn stomped his left foot right beside her.
"Why does Olivia have to hog the biggest fun all for herself every time...?"
Dayn intended to scare her with his actions but Elsa seemed everything but scared.

She placed her hand on his foot.
"!"
He quickly pulled his foot away, noticing something strange.
His eyes widened when he looked closer.
His left foot, which had the height of an average person, was frozen to 30% despite Elsa having touched it for just a mere second.
It was at that moment that he realized that he, who was approximately on the same level as Yater, should not underestimate Elsa, the woman, who was the epitome of talent and hard work.
The woman, who would have been hailed as the strongest if it were not for Olivia.
