Chapter 92: Chapter 87: Kill Every Last One (Part 2)

Just then, a spatial rift suddenly appeared beside Li Kong. The Space High Priest’s figure slowly emerged from within. She glanced at the man surrounded by the crowd, then looked at Li Kong and asked:

"Who is this person?"

"He... I don’t know who he is, either. I only know..."

Li Kong recounted the story of Su Xing’s arrival in detail, but he concealed the fact that he had long known the man’s true identity.

This was because Li Kong and the Assistant Priest had known about the "hypnotic" mark on Su Xing but had never said a word. Although this had been the Thousand-Change High Priest’s arrangement, the Thousand-Change High Priest was now long dead. Who knew if the Space High Priest and the others would bring up old scores?

Furthermore, Li Kong had noticed so many suspicious things about Su Xing but had kept them to himself. He was afraid he would be held accountable if he revealed everything, so he decisively concealed his findings.

’Anyway... as long as the Space High Priest makes a move, this will all be resolved. There’s no need to go blabbing about these things.’

The Assistant Priest knew full well that he and Li Kong were in the same boat, so he just glanced at Li Kong without saying anything more.

While Li Kong was speaking, the Space High Priest kept her eyes fixed on the man holding the Black Sword. She had actually determined he was the mysterious expert at a glance; she had only asked to confirm it.

She watched Su Xing attack, marveling to herself:

’What terrifying power.’

’This level of power, combined with such coincidental timing... Could it be that the mysterious expert was the one who killed Wen?’

At this thought, the Space High Priest’s eyes narrowed. A blue Sequence energy flared up around her, but it vanished just as quickly. She knew perfectly well that if she made a move, she stood no chance against the mysterious expert.

’Even Wen was no match for him, so my main body would stand even less of a chance. Fortunately, Wen wasn’t my strongest trump card.’

’If I use *that*...’

’Killing the mysterious expert would be a piece of cake!’

"Buy me some time."

With those words, the Space High Priest vanished from Li Kong’s side, leaving him with a wry smile. He muttered:

"Buy time... How am I supposed to do that?"

...

The first few Spiritualist Followers to charge forward all had elemental-type Sequences. Red, blue, purple—all sorts of energies suddenly converged.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

A series of explosions rang out as surges of Sequence energy formed tangible attacks—flames, lightning, and more—all hurtling toward Su Xing!

At such close range, if this guy didn’t move from his position by the door, he would take the full brunt of the wide-area bombardment. Not even a Tier Three Sequencer could withstand such power!

Most of those in the first wave were hot-headed new recruits to the Spiritual Sect. Their impression of the "mysterious expert" was faint, and they didn’t immediately connect the dots, so they charged without fear!

Just as they prepared to use the man’s expected dodge as an opportunity to escape!

They watched in horror as the man before them neither dodged nor retreated. He just stood there, preparing to take the full force of the Sequence energy barrage head-on.

Then, the Black Sword that had been held in his right hand suddenly slashed out.

The tip of the sword sliced through the air.

A loud BANG erupted, as if Su Xing’s single slash had instantly detonated the surrounding air, sending out ripple after ripple.

At Su Xing’s current level,

a casual swing of his sword was enough to blast the air apart. Simple Sequences like those from Tier Two Sequencers posed no threat to him whatsoever.

The Black Sword instantly passed through the torrent of Sequence energy hurtling toward Su Xing. The attacks seemed to be sliced in half out of thin air, dissipating in an instant.

At the same time, the Sequencers who had unleashed these attacks felt a sudden pain in their necks. They slowly lowered their heads, only to realize with a shock that their heads had already been sent flying at some unknown moment!

Heads flew everywhere, like snowballs in a fight. Some slammed against the wall, splattering it with blood and viscera. Others were crushed mid-air by falling concrete, bursting on impact. Still others landed on their comrades, drenching them in foul-smelling blood.

It all happened in a matter of seconds. By the time the others were hit by the sudden rain of severed heads and let out bloodcurdling screams, many had only just begun to process what happened. Looks of horror appeared on their faces, and their hearts began to THUMP-THUMP-THUMP out a rhythm of retreat.

Their Sequences were their greatest asset. Now, realizing the immense gap in power between them, their fear of Su Xing began to faintly eclipse their fear of being crushed to death by the collapsing building.

"What the hell are you afraid of?!"

"Do you want to be crushed alive?!"

"He’s just one person, and there are so many of us! You think he can take on all of our Sequences and kill every single one of us?!"

"Who does he think he is!"

the man suddenly stood up and roared.

Roused by this cry, the crowd, which had been on the verge of retreating, found a desperate courage. ’Yeah, how could he possibly kill all of us?’ The thought surfaced in the minds of the Sequencers, and one by one, they charged toward Su Xing as if their lives meant nothing.

However, the man who had just done all the shouting quietly hid himself away.

He had been with the Spiritual Sect for a very long time; among all the Sequencers present, his tenure was second only to Li Kong’s.

But he was a cautious man, so he never went out to perform "Filthy Rites" himself. He only earned contribution points by assisting other Spiritualist Followers in conducting them.
