Chapter 93: Chapter 87: Annihilate Them All (3)
He had finally scraped his way to the Tier Two Sequence and become an Assistant Priest, only to be met with this disaster.
Given his cautious nature, he instantly recognized the man holding the Black Sword as the renowned mysterious expert.
So, just like Li Kong, he never believed their group could kill the mysterious expert. Their goal was simply to stall for time, sacrificing lives while he hid and waited for the Space High Priest to save the day. It was the only way he might survive.
Although the shout had fired them up, not a single one of them dared to engage Su Xing in close combat. They knew perfectly well that fighting him up close was suicide.
Without a word, they each took up different positions and launched ranged attacks. Countless blasts of sequence energy erupted from the hands of the Spiritualist Followers, forming a dense barrage that converged on Su Xing from all sides. It was like a bullet hell game, with Su Xing caught at the very center of the deadly web of projectiles.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The sheer density of the energy web caused Su Xing’s brow to twitch.
It wasn’t that he couldn’t block it; the sheer spectacle was just a bit dizzying.
This time, Su Xing didn’t even draw his sword. With a sudden stomp of his right foot, a large crater appeared in the floor!
His figure blurred into an afterimage as he charged them. The energy blasts slammed directly into his body along the way, yet they seemed to be completely devoured, failing to cause so much as a ripple.
In fact, Su Xing closed the distance so quickly that many of the Spiritualist Followers had no time to react before their heads were lopped clean off.
...
"Such a terrifying physique. He’s a Martial Artist, through and through."
The Space High Priest’s hands were pressed against a giant metal construct, her eyes tightly shut. After a long moment, she slowly opened them and gradually spoke.
Although she had left the Dragon Heaven Building,
she had spies there monitoring the mysterious expert’s every move.
Even she was shocked by the mysterious expert’s domineering display. Although her followers were only Tier Two Sequencers, the combined power of so much Tier Two sequence energy was still nothing to scoff at.
And yet... the mysterious expert had simply tanked it all with his body!
This led the Space High Priest to wonder: could her own body withstand that much Tier Two sequence energy and emerge completely unscathed?
She pondered this for a long while before finally shaking her head and murmuring, "A Sequencer would find it nearly impossible to do that."
That was right. For most Sequencers, each tier advancement provided only a small boost to their physical body.
Unless one had a Sequence specifically designed to augment the body, a Sequencer couldn’t hope to compare to a Martial Artist in that regard. At the very least, *she* couldn’t compete with the mysterious expert’s physique.
"Then again, I don’t need to be physically stronger than you to kill you."
As the Space High Priest spoke, her gaze traveled from her hands to what lay before her: a four-meter-tall metal Mecha gleaming with a silver-white luster. This was her true trump card—the most powerful device her [Spatial Items] ability had ever produced.
"My flesh may not be able to beat you... but a Mecha certainly can!"
...
At this point, the Spiritualist Followers were all scared witless by Su Xing. They could only stare at him with vacant eyes. In all their experience, no one had ever been able to withstand a Sequence ability with their physical body alone. Having done just that, Su Xing was no different from a monster in their eyes.
Just as they stood there, stunned,
Su Xing kicked off his right foot, and a pale white ring of air exploded outwards. He became a blurry afterimage, hurtling toward the remaining Spiritualist Followers. The quickest to react saw Su Xing charging him. Red sequence energy flared across his body as he prepared to launch an all-out counterattack!
The next moment, Su Xing appeared before him and delivered the simplest of chops.
BOOM!
A terrifying force erupted, as if a massive bomb had just detonated. The man was instantly blown apart by Su Xing’s strike. First, his torso was severed from his legs. Then, his upper body exploded in the turbulent air, showering the surroundings in a rain of blood and shredded meat!
As if swatting a fly, Su Xing didn’t pause for a single moment. One sonic boom after another tracked his movement. Then another follower fell, and a second, a third, a fourth...
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
In the blink of an eye, countless Spiritualist Followers had died horribly under Su Xing’s sword. Their manner of death was almost identical: first, they were sliced in two, and then their upper bodies would suddenly explode.
This terrifying spectacle completely shattered the last vestiges of the remaining followers’ will to fight. No longer daring to even think of resisting Su Xing, they scattered in all directions, fleeing for their lives.
Only a few minutes had passed since Su Xing had severed the load-bearing columns.
The Dragon Heaven Building was already leaning at a precarious angle, seemingly on the verge of complete collapse. But the Spiritualist Followers couldn’t care about that now. Fear had completely eclipsed their reason. All they could do was flee, desperate to survive for just a few more seconds or minutes.
The Sparrow Sword suddenly materialized beside Su Xing and shot outward!
VMMMM!
With a clear ring, a transparent ripple of force exploded from the sword. The panicking Spiritualist Followers, fleeing in every direction, were powerless to resist the Sparrow Sword’s attack.
Before the Sparrow Sword’s incredible speed and power, a bloody hole would appear in a Spiritualist Follower’s head the very instant they saw it. Not one of them lived to see a second second.
In just a few seconds, the Spiritualist Followers in the building had been all but wiped out.
Only a few of the more resilient ones were still trying to escape. Su Xing was about to have the Sparrow Sword finish them off when...
a figure suddenly appeared in front of Su Xing.
It was the Soul Priest, Li Kong. As the only Priest present who predated the assault on the building, he was undoubtedly the highest-ranking and most powerful person here.
Li Kong truly had no desire to confront Su Xing, but Su Xing was just killing everyone too damn fast!
If the slaughter continued at this rate, Su Xing would kill them all. He couldn’t allow that to happen. If it did, he alone wouldn’t be able to stall for time until the Space High Priest arrived.
Besides, as the only Tier Three Sequencer on site, he should be able to last longer than the Tier Two rabble. So, he decided to make a move and see if the "Hypnosis" sigil inside Su Xing could still be activated.
"Enough! This farce should be over! Do you really intend to kill every last one of them—"
VMMMM!
Li Kong roared, simultaneously using his Sequence to have the Assistant Priest activate "Hypnosis." He hadn’t even finished his sentence when a flash of light streaked toward him. His head was instantly cleaved in two, hitting the floor and bursting like a rotten watermelon.
With Li Kong’s death, the Assistant Priest’s soul form lost its Sequence support and could no longer sustain itself. It let out a final, wretched scream before completely dissipating.
Su Xing didn’t spare the two of them a single glance. He simply continued to control his Sparrow Sword, intent on slaughtering everyone who was left.
