Chapter 2135: Chapter 2336: I’ll Take You Home

If looks could kill, then in the brief moments just now, Hao Jian must have died countless times. He quickly withdrew his gaze, pretending nothing had happened, and then helped her up, letting her sit on the stool.

Even after sitting down, Weiwei still looked at him with hatred, but not directly—more side-eyeing. If she stared directly, Hao Jian likely couldn’t bear the intensity.

Hao Jian quickly shifted his focus, placing Xiaohai’s money back into her pocket, and then took seven hundred from his own pocket, handed it to the waiter, and said, "Alright, no need to give back the change."

The waiter was a bit surprised, realizing that the young man was actually a wealthy patron. Since the customer was affluent, he said nothing more, took the money, and turned away with a servile smile. When the boss saw that Hao Jian gave extra money and didn’t want change, he was all smiles too.

He looked at Hao Jian’s expression with a changed demeanor, realizing this was someone with deep pockets. Lucky there wasn’t a conflict earlier, or the trouble might have been greater.

Then, Hao Jian turned his gaze to Weiwei and said, "How are you? Alright? Can you make it home by yourself?"

Weiwei shot Hao Jian a cold glare and said, "Of course I can go home! I’m not drunk; why wouldn’t I be able to walk home myself?"

Saying so, Weiwei tried to get up with the help of the stool. Sitting didn’t feel anything, just a slight dizziness. But once she stood up, her head spun even more, and her legs went weak as she tried to stand up again. Instantly, she couldn’t stand and instead fell directly somewhere.

This time, Hao Jian watched her fall, had the ability to quickly rush over to help, but he saw Weiwei fall on the ground and didn’t offer assistance, his face full of delighted ridicule.

"Ah!" Weiwei instinctively cried out when she fell, luckily not hitting anything that could disfigure her. Hao Jian didn’t help because he saw she was falling in a passage where no injuries would occur.

After Weiwei fell, she looked back at Hao Jian with a face full of grievance and anger, saying, "You watched me fall and didn’t help? Do you have any humanity?"

Knowing Hao Jian could help but chose not to, she confronted him. Hao Jian chuckled and waved his hand, looking innocent, saying, "You said you weren’t drunk, so surely you won’t fall. Why should I help if you’re not drunk? Also, how could I react so quickly when you suddenly fell?"

"You..." Weiwei felt infuriated, realizing Hao Jian was blaming her, yet couldn’t find words to argue, rolling her eyes at him and snorting before trying to stand again.

Standing, her legs felt weak, head dizzy, the alcohol mystery why she didn’t feel drunk sitting, yet felt dizzy once she stood, maybe fake alcohol. She struggled to get up, resuming her seat.

Knowing Weiwei is strong-willed, Hao Jian didn’t continue mocking her fall, else she wouldn’t spare him later despite current immobility. Smiling, he said, "Alright, it’s late, you’re drunk; you probably can’t go home alone. Shall I take you home? With that alcohol smell, danger lurks."

Weiwei thought Hao Jian was belittling her. Having a student look down upon her was unpleasant; she snorted and said, "I’m drunk? Can’t get home? You’re joking."

Hao Jian smiled, wordlessly knowing further discussion is futile. At this point, he’s the only acquaintance here, Weiwei in her state certainly can’t walk home, ultimately requiring his assistance. He enjoys watching others beseech him, especially Weiwei.

He sat down playing on his phone, appearing indifferent and detached.

Weiwei realized she was indeed drunk, unable to manage alone home. At night inconvenient to call friends, and she hardly knew anyone here. Embarrassed to bother others.

Sitting, a problem dawned on her; if earlier less brash, she could’ve asked Hao Jian to drive her home—student escorting teacher, quite ordinary. But after boasting, requesting Hao Jian now would damage pride.

Suddenly, her phone rang in the pocket. Without looking, Weiwei knew it was her parents. Besides them, no other callers at this hour. Adjusting her mood, she picked up the call.

"Hi! Mom!" Weiwei’s tone changed, extremely gentle.

Observing, Hao Jian’s face showed amusement. Women—such mercurial creatures; a class teacher one way at school, outside another, yet another when speaking with parents, many unknown facets. Complicated beings.

Hao Jian pondered, shaking his head silently.

Moments later, Weiwei hung up, looking troubled at Hao Jian. Her parents called urging her home. She had dinner earlier and drinks; after recent events, it was past eleven.

Her parents worried; a girl out late was concerning. Typically, she’d call informing stay out, but promised home tonight. Parents waited, resulting in concern-driven call.

Ordinarily, saying staying out sufficed. But promised home, now being urged, necessitated return. Current state prevents solitude homeward.

Torn, should she ask Hao Jian for a lift home? Yet remembering prior boasts, found asking difficult. Weiwei looked at Hao Jian, conflicted.

Just then, Hao Jian seemed to sense her plight and said, "It’s late; if necessary, I’ll send you home. I’m free, you have classes tomorrow, and you’re drunk. Without rest, are you prepared for tomorrow’s lessons?"

Hao Jian asked. He had reason; knew Weiwei’s dilemma, possessing hearing sharper than most. Though unintendedly, overheard Weiwei’s conversation with parents, learning some details.

No choice, knowing Weiwei’s awkwardness and dilemma, as a considerate individual, offered to alleviate her embarrassment.

If earlier, Weiwei’d rolled her eyes at Hao Jian, ignoring him. Needing swift return, parents await concerned; Hao Jian the sole help, inconvenient contacting others. Resorting to glancing at Hao Jian.

Slyly retrieving car keys from her bag, Weiwei tossed them to Hao Jian, saying, "Take the opportunity; be my escort."

Unexpectedly playful, Weiwei’s jest would shock classmates, accustomed to her serious demeanor, if witnessed now.

Yet Hao Jian controlled his expression, naturally taking keys from the table, happily saying, "Alright, happy to oblige."

Weiwei gave him a direct look.

Grasping keys, Hao Jian rose and proceeded to Baldy, informing tomorrow they’ll meet to discuss matters, as he departed to escort Weiwei home.

Baldy nodded knowingly at Weiwei, understanding her drunken state required escort home. Simply saying goodbye till tomorrow, while Hao Jian departed.

Weiwei’s car parked outside; Hao Jian guided her out, spotting it instantly.

Puzzled why previously missed seeing it upon entry, but now visible.
