Chapter 886: A Test of Raw Strength

The [Lunar Burst] rune was a third-ranked rune that took Jason nearly a full month to complete, but the outcome was more than worth the effort since the output was strong enough to be regarded as a TITAN Rank attack! Jason had created this rune to make sure that a fast enemy only needed to get hit once before they would suffer even more damage, and Jason felt a bit of pride fill his heart as he saw the rune working so perfectly. But Jason didn’t have time to really appreciate the achievement as the dust in the air finally began to clear up, and Jason saw that Diane was surrounded by a strange yellow shield.

’Defensive artefact? Fucking warrior race. Of course, she’d have an artefact that can block a TITAN Rank attack.’

Jason put his hand out and resummoned the [Spear of Heaven] as he dashed forward, and Diane charged for him with her sword drawn back! Diane swung her sword in a perfect vertical slash, and Jason felt the [Spear of Heaven] appear in his hand at just the right moment for him to use it to block!

Clang!

A metallic sound echoed through the air as the two high-level weapons fought for dominance! Diane tried to push back against Jason’s spear, but Jason just grinned as he pressed down on Diane and got in her face! Jason had already studied the memories of Diane’s fight against his subordinates, and from what Jason had seen, he now knew Diane’s biggest weakness! Diane might be a TITAN Rank III, but unlike Jason, who had gotten up there using raw power, Diane had relied on boosts from runes and artefacts to make her body grow stronger, and Jason knew he would not lose to her in a test of raw strength! Jason’s eyes bled to red, and his fangs elongated as he activated his Vympir gene, and Jason’s power increased even more as he pushed Diane back! Jason spoke in a deep voice that sent a shiver down Diane’s spine.

"Let’s take this fight somewhere else."

The world suddenly darkened as shadowy tendrils wrapped around Jason and Diane! Diane pulled back and tried to get away from Jason to avoid getting wrapped in the skill, but Jason refused to let her go! Jason’s [Hands of Providence] wrapped around Diane’s arm to hold her in place, and the shadows consumed them both and formed a large ball floating in the sky before solidifying into the [Land of Lost Shadows]!

Diane stumbled forward as she felt her feet on solid ground, and she looked down in surprise to see that she was standing in shadowy water. There was a white light reflecting off the water, and Diane looked up to see the white sun floating high above her with hundreds of tendrils wriggling around it! In front of the sun was a large hill made from the same shadowy substance as the water, and standing on that hill was Jason Marc.

Jason slammed his spear into the ground, and the floor began to tremble! Diane floated off the ground and moved back as she saw hundreds of black arms tearing themselves out of the ground and slowly dragging shadow bodies out to the surface! There were hundreds of different creatures! Machina, dragons, tentacled monsters, and warriors from different worlds were all present there, and they all stood at the ready as they faced Diane! Diane’s grip around her sword tightened as she quickly formed a plan of action in her mind, but before she could even finish forming the plan, a strange power surged across the area, and Diane heard a voice echo in her head.

[A condition had been set upon the [Land of Lost Shadows]]

[Condition: The [Runic Arts] do not exist]

Diane felt her eyes widen as all the runes on her body suddenly deactivated, and she looked up at Jason to see him staring her down with calm, dangerous eyes. There was a promise of death within those eyes, and Diane narrowed her own eyes and dared Jason to come at her!

Jason had decided that this was going to be a battle of raw strength without either of them having the advantage of runes, and at the end of it all, Jason swore that Diane would understand exactly why it was a bad idea to rely so much on runes!

....

[With Gina and the Other Superhumans]

"Stay in formation! Don’t get separated from the Legion!"

Gina shouted out her orders from the sky as she flew over the battlefield! Gina was riding on the back of a large dragon with a frown on her face, and she had multiple wind arrows following after her that she unleashed on the Bengari warriors at irregular intervals! Gina still didn’t know what the hell was going on! At one moment, the superhumans were already close to finishing the Gate, but all of a sudden, the Bengari appeared out of nowhere and started attacking them. Gina had to tell all the Legion subordinates to bring the superhumans together through the shadows so that they could fight as one unit, but Gina could see that it would be difficult for the superhumans to win! fгeewebnovёl.com

The Bengari women moved like a well-oiled machine! Every move from them was calculated, and every attack was specifically designed to cause as much damage as possible! The army was made up of mostly TITAN Rank I soldiers, and there were only about a hundred TITAN Rank II soldiers, but even the TITAN Rank I’s had multitudes of runes and artefacts that made it difficult for the Legion to keep up with them!

The Legion Bishops came together with the Rooks, and they entered a formation where the Rooks stood in a [Great Wall] in front of the Bishops before the Bishops unleashed a massive [Mana Blast] straight at the Bengari women! This was a formation that Jason had worked on with the Legion during their training, and Gina watched as the attack slammed into the group of Bengari women! But the Bengari women activated defensive artefacts, and they were covered in a large golden light that easily tanked the attack! The women launched a counterattack using magic beams of their own, but the [Great Wall] managed to block it, and the Bishop Rank III Machina charged for the Bengari women!

The Bishop Rank III’s were on the same level as TITAN Rank II’s, so even if the Bengari had improved their strength and durability using runes, they still weren’t a match for the Bishops! The Machina tore through their numbers, and Gina quickly swerved out of the way as a massive spear flew straight at her!

WOOSH!

The spear belonged to one of the Bengari women flying towards her right now, and Gina narrowed her eyes as she told her dragon to charge forward! The dragon flapped its massive wings and increased its speed, and Gina gathered all the wind around her to create thousands of massive wind blades in the air! Ulyn was sitting on Gina’s shoulder with a deep scowl on her face, and Gina didn’t even need to say anything as Ulyn activated [Synchronization]! The spirit skill was still only at 10%, but that was enough to supercharge the wind arrows beyond anything Gina could create with her current power! The arrows began to spin like massive drills as they created a vortex all around Gina, and Gina waited for just the right moment before she released her control and allowed the arrows to fly forward!

TWOON!

The arrows tore through the air like ballistic missiles, and even with the defensive artefacts that the Bengari activated, it still wasn’t enough to protect them! Gina was on the same level as a TITAN Rank II, and with the addition of the spirit energy, her power increased until it was nearly TITAN Rank III, so the Bengari were immediately thrown out of the sky by the attack!
