The Serpent boss felt fear gripping its heart as it saw Jason’s relentless charge, and it began to backpedal while sending even more monsters after Jason! The boss activated its telekinetic abilities and threw hundreds of boulders at Jason, but Jason easily dodged all of them, and he finally arrived in front of the beast’s face! There was a bloodthirsty smile on Jason’s face at that moment, and even though Jason’s eyes were closed, the boss still felt a jolt of fear pass through its body when it saw that look! The boss immediately launched itself forward and tried to swallow Jason, but Jason swerved out of the way of the first head and snapped his finger to activate [Crimson Hellfire]! The first head roared in pain as the flames scorched it, and Jason used the opening to charge forward with his sword and quickly attacked the second head that was heading for him!
SQUELCH!
The [Death’s Mirage] easily tore into the Snake’s neck, and Jason flew up with a roar while dragging the sword vertically! The sword dissected the snake in half from its neck straight up to its fucking head, and blood sprayed across the battlefield like a fountain! The dissected serpent head fell to the side limply as it died, and Jason landed on a black platform and cleaned the blood on his face before he turned around to face the serpent’s remaining head! The remaining head was still screaming from Jason’s [Crimson Hellfire], and Jason used the opportunity to test his eyes once again! Jason opened his eyes, and he grinned as he realised that the Vertigo was gone. The head that Jason just killed was the same one that had used the Vertigo ability on Jason, so Jason was now sure that the beast’s abilities were tied to their lifeforce. So did that mean that killing the Serpent boss would get rid of all the smaller serpents? Since the smaller Sky Serpents were born from the body of the main boss, it was very possible! Jason slapped away one of the Sky Serpents that tried attacking him, and he crouched into a ready stance as the final head finally turned towards him angrily!
ROARRR!
The Serpent boss roared at Jason, and Jason glared at it with piercing blue eyes! The serpent felt a surge of fear pass through it once it saw those eyes, but the serpent was a predator, and even fear wouldn’t stop it from attacking an enemy! The serpent boss charged towards Jason, and Jason allowed the black platform below him to vanish as he fell through the air to avoid the attack! Jason’s black wings stretched out to stop his fall, and Jason changed direction and quickly charged towards the serpent boss!
ROARR!!
PHWOOOM!
But Jason’s attention was pulled away when he felt a massive surge of mana fly across the region, and a shadow appeared above Jason’s head! Jason looked up, and his eyes widened as he saw Arcticus falling right on top of him! How the fuck did Diane throw him this far!? freeωebnovēl.c૦m
Arcticus had been fighting Diane with Trigon and Ragnar, but Diane had been far too experienced for the three of them to handle alone! Diane had used a gravity-based artefact to bring Ragnar to the ground, and she had taken care of Trigon using the same rune blast that she had hit Jason with. The attack hadn’t killed Trigon, but it gave Diane enough time to focus on Arcticus! Since Arcticus was the strongest of the three, Diane knew she couldn’t hold back! Arcticus released a wave of ice around him that froze the landscape, and Diane let out a harsh breath as she moved around while waiting for the right moment! Arcticus was sending large chunks of ice towards Diane and Diane was constantly dodging them, and it wasn’t until Diane felt Arcticus gathering a massive amount of mana in its mouth that Diane changed direction and charged straight for him! Arcticus activated [Mana Blast] as it unleashed a wave of ice towards Diane, and Diane brought her shield forward to block it! A red rune glowed on Diane’s shield as the shield began to absorb the attack, and Diane continued charging forward with grit teeth!
And the moment the attack stopped, Diane activated the [Kinetic Release] rune on her shield, and she flew straight into Arcticus’ chest!

The attack unleashed all the power that Diane had absorbed in one supersonic blast, and the sheer force behind the attack took Arcticus off his feet and threw him into the distance towards Jason and the large serpent boss!
Jason quickly moved out of the way, but the large Serpent boss wasn’t quick enough, and it ended up getting flattened to the ground as Arcticus landed right on top of it! The region immediately began to freeze as Arcticus’ aura covered everything, and Jason turned towards the direction Arcticus had come from to see Diane flying out of a massive snowstorm and heading straight for him! Diane’s eyes were fixed on Jason with laser focus, and Jason decided that he was done with the serpent boss! Jason quickly sent a message to Arcticus!
’I already weakened it, so make sure you kill it properly! Just don’t take off its head! Once you’re done, go help Gina and the others!’
Jason knew that the snake boss was already weak enough, so it wouldn’t pose any threat to Arcticus, and Jason decided to allow Arcticus to handle the boss while he took care of Diane! Jason put his hand out and activated an attack rune! Jason didn’t like the idea of using runes in battle since he knew it would slow down your personal growth, but Jason knew that the only reason Diane was fighting so well was because of the insane number of runes she was using at the same time. Diane had a rune that increased her strength, and another rune that could absorb attacks through her shield. She had mana runes, attack runes, and even a rune that made her sword release blasts of mana! If Jason doesn’t use his runes, then he wouldn’t be able to match her intensity! Three massive magic circles appeared in front of Jason and spun in three unsynchronised patterns before locking into place and activating.
[Lunar Burst]!
Hundreds of white beams of light shot out from the magic circles and ascended into the sky before they dived down towards Diane! Diane quickly changed her trajectory to try to avoid the attacks, but the beams followed after her, and Diane grunted as one of the beasts slammed into her back!
BOOM!
The explosion threw her forward and sent her spiralling through the air, and Diane was shocked when she saw all the other beams of energy appearing around her! What the fuck!
KA-BOOM!!
An explosion painted the sky white as all the white beams went off at the same time! The [Lunar Burst] rune was something Jason had created for very special cases where he was facing off against a very agile opponent. By layering three different runes on top of each other, Jason was able to give the attack three different properties that worked together seamlessly! The first property was the attack itself that unleashed multiple light beams, the second property was the homing attribute that allowed the beams to follow after whoever was marked with the attack, and the third property was called [Gravitas]! This property allowed the beams to all act like mini teleportation devices for each other, so the moment one of the attacks landed on the enemy, all the other lunar beams would immediately teleport to the exact location where the attack landed, and they would all go off at the same time!
