[Description: A Simple Kitchen Knife Forged From Silver. Nothing More. Nothing Less.]

’.....Are we serious?’ Loraine looked at the [Silver Knife]’s description with a disappointed, and somewhat infuriated gaze. The knife was just...normal, like, the same kind of knife you could find anywhere if you opened a kitchen drawer.

"And this was what the system had to give me for last, huh? It would’ve been better if the system just directed me to the kitchen itself, but I digress." She said sarcastically, though she knew that she should be somewhat grateful.

A knife was a still a knife at the end of the day, whether you use it for cooking or not, it still technically had some uses, and she knew just what she had to use it for...even if the idea of it was mortifying.

’Either this knife is a symbol of mockery, or the system is indirectly telling me to stab someone if it came down to it, both are very strong possibilities, but I please do hope it ends up being the former.’ Lorraine said with a nervous smile on her face, breaking a sweat as she slid the [Silver Knife] into her drawer.

Just then, the sounds of footsteps rapidly approaching her caught in her ears, her eyes widening in full alert as she spun around to prepare herself, her mind racing and her heart racing along with it.

"Shit...is it margret!? Did Beatrice tell on me?" Loraine muttered to herself, glancing at the [Ring Of Steady Endurance] on her finger, quickly hiding her hand behind her waist and straightening her posture, trying to retain some form of confidence left in her body.

The footsteps came to a halt, the anticipation having Loraine on edge, the silence starting to feel somewhat suffocating.

’Oh come on...don’t stop now, you’re killing me here! Just open the damn door already.’

The door softly creaked open, and a woman with long, warm blonde hair stepped in, her chest heaving as she was somewhat exhausted from today’s list of chores.

Her crystal blue eyes flickered to Loraine, immediately widening with a sense of shock., whose crimson eyes were wide with shock as she immediately recognized the figure. A hitched breath came from her throat, her fingers twitched, and her hand immediately covered her mouth as her eyes began to shimmer with tears.

"Sarah...." The words left Loraine’s lips with a huge sense of surprise, relief and familiarity all at once, as she unconsciously took stepped closer to the blonde woman she had treasured more than anything else.

’I...I recognize her from my memories, she’s Loraine’s...’ Loraine immediately stopped herself, her hand drifting toward her heart as she gripped at the fabric of her maid uniform, her knuckles turning white with the intensity of her grip.

’No...the old Loraine’s dead, she’s my best friend now...as wrong as that sounds.’

She thought, though the thought felt a bit illegal. Not was this not her original body, but everything that belonged to this body, including Loraine’s friends, was now hers.

’Im not gonna get used to this...’

"Loraine!" Sarah exclaimed, throwing herself at Loraine as she wrapped her arms around her, hugging her tightly. "I thought you were dead! They said you were in a coma!" Sarah said through sobbed cries, her face buried in Loraine’s chest as her tears flowed uncontrollably, her body visibly trembling with her sobs of relief and happiness.

Loraine didn’t know how to react to this, it was a situation far too strange for her, one she wasn’t used to in the slightest. She didn’t have alot of friends in her past life, and they definitely weren’t as close as this, so her body didn’t know how to react.

’S-shit! What do I do!?’ Loraine’s thoughts were a storm of pure panic, as though Sarah was technically her best friend, Loraine wasn’t a hugger, and this felt like uncharted territory.

So not only was she not comfortable, but she absolutely hated it.

’Why this! Out of all the situations I’ve faced so far this one has got to be the worst!’ She thought, but the gears in her mind spun once more. Mustering up all her courage, Loraine’s arms trembled as they slowly raised from her sides, the shaky limbs slowly embracing her best friend as she wrapped her arms around her waist, the sensation overwhelming her senses.

"Magret and the others didn’t let me see you, and I was warned with further punishment if I did, but I still came regardless!" Sarah said through a choked sob, burying her face deeper into Loraine’s chest that threatened to leave the poor girl out of breath.

"W..wait, they threatened you?" Loraine blinked, raising a brow, Sarah’s tear streaked eyes meeting hers as she gave a small nod, a vein popping at the side of her head as Loraine immediately became pissed off.

’Why does that piss me off so much? I barely know this woman! Well....atleast out of my current memories, but this is my first time actually meeting her!’ She knew that she’s not really familar with Sarah, but even so her body started to radiate with anger as she couldn’t stand the thought of Sarah being in a bad position.

But...that had always been the case. Loraine was hated so much by everyone, that alot of that hatred burned off onto Sarah as a consequence. Sarah wasn’t liked by the other maids either, due to her being affiliated with Loraine and have tried seperating them in the past multiple times, but that inevitably ended in failure.

The bond they shared, two hearts intertwined through hardship and love would never separate from the influence of others, and even after Loraine had passed...that emotion still held strong.

’Perhaps I’ve been too selfish lately, well...in my current state being selfish is kinda the only way I can survive. But now that I have Sarah to worry about, and more effectively rely on, I have aquired another reason to grow stronger.’

"Don’t worry Sarah, now that I’m up and awake again, I’ll do my best to look after you the way you’ve looked after me." She said, flashing the blonde woman a bright and cheerful smile as she wiped the tears from her eyes.

’Margret, Alice. Beatrice, Lucy....mark my words, the order in this house won’t remain like this for much longer.’

’Not when I am here.’
