Chapter 14: +3 Bronze ticket and E-Tier Skill book
Ryven’s expression darkened as he assessed the situation.
Samminah was quite far from them, there was no way she could assist them now.
At this point, he could only rely on himself.
Three small Blood Skull Spiders suddenly lunged at him.
Despite his blurring vision and the blood trickling from his ears, Ryven forced his body to move.
As the three abominations aligned midair, he swung his spear. A loud crunch echoed the moment it connected.
The skull of the Blood Skull Spiders was extremely hard. The recoil was unavoidable, and each strike sent a jolt of pain up Ryven’s arm. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
"Fred, don’t let them surround us!" He said through gritted teeth.
Even as he spoke, Ryven was barely holding his ground against the swarm of smaller blood skull spiders.
Step by step, he retreated, each kill buying him only a sliver of space to move backwards.
Fred obeyed without hesitation. The skeleton stepped back after every kill, with this they prevented the swarm of small blood skull spiders to fully encircle them.
Meanwhile, Samminah remained trapped deeper within the cave, surrounded on all sides.
The cave trembled as more abominations poured out.
From behind, an adult Blood Skull Spider slashed at her with its massive, blade-like legs.
At the same time, a sphere of venom shot toward her from the front.
Sensing both threats, she reinforced her body with Moon Luminesce, further enhancing her stats.
In a blink, she slipped past them—and the venom had instead struck the adult spider behind her, melting its body like wax.
A thick, transparent web shot toward her next.
With no time to evade, she flicked her hand, summoning a moonlight blade that sliced it apart.
But that brief moment of delay opened another gap—two adult spiders lunged from either side.
Again, she responded with a barrage of moonlight blades.
Although the situation seemed dire, Samminah’s mind remained calm.
The Mother of the Blood Skull Spiders had yet to make a move.
After it had screamed, it stayed deep in the rear, continuously producing smaller spiders.
Samminah quickly grasped its intent.
Troublesome... If this drags on, my mana will be exhausted, then when I’m at my most vulnerable state only then it will strike the finishing blow.
Although she had once killed a Third-Stage abomination in a single strike, but that had only been possible because its defense was its weakness.
Furthermore, the abomination couldn’t think properly because of the overwhelming fear it felt toward her. The source of that fear was the blood flowing through her veins, which is her bloodline.
Now, although the mother of blood skull spiders is weaker in terms of combat, its defense is simply impossible to breached for now because of the continuously production of the small blood skull spiders.
Slowly, she began forming a plan while steadily making her way closer to the Mother of the Blood Skull Spiders.
Eventually, she closed the distance to just a meter, but doing so drained half of her mana.
And unbeknownst to the creature, she had already begun accumulating damage on its skull.
To kill a Blood Skull Spider, one had to either crush its skull or split it open.
Bit by bit, she created a crack at the back of the Mother’s skull, ensuring it remained unnoticeable, so that with a single strike, it would shatter completely.
Their skulls lacked nerves, so unless the damage was severe, they wouldn’t feel anything.
As time passed on, Samminah finally got the chance to split the skull of the Third-Stage creature.
Three Moonlight Blades silently appeared behind the Mother of Blood Skull Spiders.
The abomination remained in a strange sitting posture as it continuously laid eggs. The moment the eggs touched the ground, they cracked open.
From each shattered shell emerged a small Blood Skull Spider.
Just as the Mother of Blood Skull Spiders thought everything was proceeding smoothly, a sharp pain suddenly erupted within its skull, causing it to let out a shrill scream.
On the other side.
Ryven and Fred were struggling. They were holding off at least twenty small blood skull spiders.
Although they kept killing them one by one, more would simply take their place.
"Haaa... There’s no end to this," He gasped for breath.
He glanced at Fred, who was in no better condition. The skeleton’s body was tattered and riddled with damage, its armor and bones now looking extremely fragile
After another grueling minute, Fred’s condition worsened even further.
Just as Ryven was about to fall into despair, a familiar piercing scream echoed from Samminah’s side.
Did she finally killed it?
With that thought in mind, Ryven finally looked at the system notifications that had been piling up.
[??? Had slain a Third-Stage Mother of blood skull spider!]

Seeing the notifications, Ryven was momentarily overwhelmed. He paused for a brief moment before deciding to allocate the experience points later.
Shifting his gaze, he watched as the remaining adult and smaller Blood Skull Spiders were slaughtered one after another by Samminah’s moonlight blades.
I’m so exhausted...
A few minutes later, all the Blood Skull Spiders had been wiped out.
Ryven collapsed onto the ground, dropping both his spear and shield.
He then decided to check what kind of skill book he had obtained this time.
First, he looked at the skill book that Samminah had acquired from slaying the Mother of the Blood Skull Spiders.
[Inventory: Skill book-Iron body.]
Upon seeing its name, Ryven’s heartbeat quickened.
Good... I’ll definitely need this.
Although he hadn’t been injured by the small Blood Skull Spiders, his weak physique meant that every strike against their skulls made his bones feel as if they were being crashed by hammers.
Without hesitation, he conjured the D-Tier skill book.
The moment it appeared, it took the form of a dark green orb, it was weightless, just like before.
"Mm, you got an skill book?"
Samminah suddenly approached, countless torn Blood Skull Spider corpses scattered behind her.
Her appearance was terrifying. Despite the visible fatigue on her expression, the bloodlust burning within her violet eyes sent a chill straight through Ryven’s spine.
Ryven gulped, "Uhh... Yeah?"
"Then what is it?" She bluntly asked, "If it’s something related to Mana, give it to me." She demanded.
"It’s not," Ryven replied, his tone turning calmer. "It’s more physical—it strengthens the body."
As he spoke, he clenched the orb, then immediately checked his stats.

Before examining his skills, Ryven couldn’t help but be astonished by the dramatic increase in his stats.
A smile of satisfaction appeared on his face as he turned his attention to the Skills section of the system.
Displayed before him was a skill called Iron Body.
The moment he saw it, his already excellent mood became even better.
Feeling a little lucky, Ryven next used Gacha wheel using the three bronze Ticket.
[Three Bronze ticket had been used!]
[Gacha wheel ability is being activated!]
[Summoning...]
[Congratulations, Host has summoned a Common-Tier being, Goblin!]
[Congratulations, Host has summoned a Common-Tier being, Wolf!]
[Congratulations, Host has summoned a Common-Tier being, Slime!]
Seeing the three worthless summons, Ryven couldn’t help but facepalm. His mood instantly soured—until an idea suddenly came to him.
He looked at the three summoned figures.
The goblin had long ears and green skin, standing about three feet tall. The wolf looked no different from a normal one. The slime was just a simple blue blob.
Without even checking their stats, he gave a command.
"Kill yourselves."
The moment he said it, they immediately began attacking each other.
Ryven nodded in satisfaction. Their low intelligence made them easy to control, if he had said that to Samminah, he surely might’ve been the one killed instead.
"What are you doing?"
Samminah asked, slightly intrigued now that Ryven had summoned something again.
"I’m planning to let Fred devour them," Ryven replied casually. "Otherwise they’d just be a burden."
"Hmm, I suppose that’s reasonable,"
Samminah remarked, watching as Fred began devouring the three summoned.
The goblin went first, but Ryven didn’t expect anything from it.
As anticipated, no trait appeared. He noticed the absence of experience points as well, which surprised him slightly, but he quickly brushed it off.
The wolf followed and it was still nothing.
Only when the slime was devoured did a notification appear.
[Fred used Devouring and devoured a trait: Flexibility!]
A hint of satisfaction flickered across Ryven’s face. He then turned his gaze toward Samminah.
"I’ll distribute the experience points now. I’ll split them between us."
Samminah alone had slaughtered at least twenty-five Adult Blood Skull Spiders, each granting a hundred experience points, along with around fifty smaller ones.
Meanwhile, Ryven and Fred had taken down roughly forty-five of the smaller Blood Skull Spiders.
