Chapter 15: New abilities!

Seeing the new ability, Ryven was naturally thrilled. However, he quickly calmed himself and decided to allocate his Arcane Points first, placing everything into Mana.

[Mana increased +10]

The moment the allocation was complete, a strange sensation spread through his body. It felt very surreal.

His mind went blank as he felt mana flowing through every nerve in his body.

Following the image in his mind, his veins sometimes turned Blue and Red at the same time.

He focused once more, imagining the mana spreading throughout his entire body.

As he circulate his Mana, it was as if countless butterflies was fluttering in his heart.

Beneath her thick purple veil mask, the corners of Samminah’s lips curled up slightly.

"You finally have Mana."

"Hmm... This makes me even more curious about your system."

"To be able to distribute your attributes after leveling up, even after living countless of years, I’ve never encountered such an awakened system."

He rubbed his temples and decided to shrug it off.

"I guess I’m special. And I should put everything into your Mana, right?"

Samminah gave a brief nod in affirmation

[??? Mana increased +10]

After allocating Samminah’s points, he did the same for Fred.

[Fred’s agility increased +2]

[Fred’s Strength increased +4]

[Fred’s speed increased +4]

Seeing that Fred’s stats had also grown naturally, Ryven couldn’t help but sigh in relief.

His gaze soon shifted to Fred’s new ability.

Initially, he was delighted, but upon discovering that it required a living target, his enthusiasm diminished considerably.

Instead of testing Fred’s ability, he decided to try the new one he had unlocked himself.

Now that he finally possessed Mana, it should work.

"Gacha Hunter."

With a single thought, nearly twenty-five percent of his Mana was consumed.

A small transparent box suddenly appeared out of nowhere. No larger than a piece of candy.

Ryven frowned in confusion.

Just as he was wondering how it worked, a system notification appeared.

[Note: This ability allows the host to summon a small box. By throwing the box at a target, it will attach itself to them. After thirty minutes, the box will automatically return to the host.

Upon swallowing the box, the host can temporarily steal and use one random ability from the target for one day.]

Reading the rather complex description, Ryven felt amused.

After digesting the information, he decided to test it immediately. Secretly, he flicked the transparent box toward Samminah.

Due to Samminah’s sharp reflexes, she instantly sensed something amiss. However, the transparent box vanished without a trace the moment it made contact with her skin.

"What did you just do?"

Samminah turned toward Ryven, with a hint of uncertainty in her eyes as she questioned whether he had caused the strange sensation she had just experienced.

Ryven merely shrugged and avoided eye contact.

"Do what?"

Hearing that, Samminah fell silent as she placed her hand on her neck, checking if anything was wrong.

After sensing nothing unusual, she chose not to pursue the matter any further.

Meanwhile, Ryven cut off a chunk of flesh from the Mother of the Blood Skull Spider to serve as proof that they had completed the mission.

Afterward, Ryven glanced at the countless corpses littering the cave. After a brief moment of consideration, he ordered Fred to devour them one by one.

Realizing what Ryven was doing, Samminah immediately reminded him.

"Night is about to approach. You can’t make Fred devour all of them."

"Staying inside this cave isn’t a good idea either. Although I can conceal us, the corpse stench will attract abominations."

"And my mana has already been depleted by more than half because of the fight earlier. It’s only enough for us to make it back to the village while maintaining my Concealment ability."

"Then I’ll make this quick." Ryven replied calmly.

Instead of having Fred devour the corpses one by one, Ryven ordered him to focus only on the Third-Stage abomination.

If Fred managed to devour a trait from a Third-Stage abomination, his strength would surely increase tremendously.

Ten minutes passed, yet only half of the creature’s corpse had been devoured.

Samminah sighed as she watched Fred continue devouring the Third-Stage abomination.

"You should’ve made that skeleton devour the smaller ones instead. This one is going to take far too long."

Ryven stubbornly shook his head.

"It’s fine. We still have half an hour before we leave."

Another ten minutes passed. After Fred completely devoured the Third-Stage abomination, no notification appeared.

...

Ryven took a deep breath, suppressing the anger threatening to explode inside him. A vein bulged from his temple, only to disappear a moment later as he forcibly calmed himself.

He composed his emotions and muttered inwardly.

It is what it is...

Ten minutes later, they finally left the cave.

As thirty minutes passed, Ryven suddenly felt the box appear in his palm.

Without Samminah’s notice, he secretly swallowed the transparent box.

[Host can temporarily use – Moonlight Blade!]

Looking at the notification, Ryven’s heart began pounding rapidly. He immediately checked his status window.

Ryven couldn’t help but smile.

Without warning, he suddenly conjured a Moonlight Blade in front of Samminah.

Then, without saying a word, he sent it flying toward her.

The moment Samminah saw her own ability being used against her, she froze, a dazed look appearing on her face.

For a brief moment, she simply stared in disbelief.

Then her violet eyes narrowed into a fierce glare as she realized, she could no longer use Moonlight Blade herself.

"What did you just do?" She questioned with animosity.

Ryven maintained a composed expression, while a smug smile tugged at the corners of his lips.

"Just a new ability of mine."

Hearing that, Samminah immediately recalled the strange thing she felt earlier. She quickly connected the dots and realized it was most likely the cause.

She exhaled deeply, clearly trying to stop herself from lashing out at him.

"Is it temporary or permanent?" She asked in an unusually calm tone.

Ryven blinked at her unexpectedly calm tone.

"Don’t worry. It only lasts for about a day. You’ll get it back eventually."

After listening to what he said, Samminah looked at him with a cold glare, as though she wanted to tear him apart on the spot.

"You’re really an idiot. What would you do if a powerful abomination suddenly appeared and attacked us? You can’t utilize that ability the same way I can. It consumes far too much Mana."

"And what if you had stolen my Concealment ability instead? Do you really think you could maintain it as consistently as I do?" She scolded mercilessly.

Ryven fell silent, finally realizing how reckless he had been.

Just using Moonlight Blade once had already consumed half of his Mana. Only twenty-five percent remained.

Ryven shifted his gaze away, avoiding eye contact.

"U-uh... Sorry?" He said awkwardly.

...

In the Aether Dominion Civilization.

A youthful boy with deep black eyes and long black hair quietly observed the front lines.

Only a handful of people remained awake at this hour, as night had already fallen and only a few guards continued monitoring the battlefield.

There were countless layers of defense within the Aether Dominion Civilization, so slipping into one of the front line without anyone noticing was already an incredible feat.

But still, the front line he was in has the lowest security of the Aether Dominion civilization. If he had tried in any other front line, he would’ve long been caught.

The youthful boy walked fearlessly toward a few abominations.

Most of them were already dead, but several were still barely alive.

I still can’t believe I actually transmigrated into this game... No, everyone transmigrated here.

He sighed softly while narrowing his eyes, carefully making sure no one was watching him.

His gaze was cold and ruthless as he mercilessly approached an abomination resembling a horse.

However, the creature was completely hairless, its flesh was rotten, giving it the appearance of a zombie horse.

Without hesitation, he swung his Katana and cleanly severed its neck.

A fountain of purple blood immediately burst out

‎[Host, Had slain a First-Stage, Abyss Horse!]

[+15 Experience points]

Hmm, good...

Although he had only awakened an A-Class system, the Samurai System, he still considered himself extremely lucky.

If I continue accumulating experience points and leveling up, even someone with an S-Class system won’t be my match.

He muttered inwardly.

Currently, he was already Level Six, far beyond ordinary people.

Most are only at Level four or three.

Only a week had passed since everyone transmigrated, yet even those with S-Class systems had already been left behind by him.

Most of them were still only around Level Three or Four.

As for the majority of people, they remained stuck at Level Two.

However it wasn’t that surprising.

Most people were terrified of the abominations roaming this world.

Encountering such grotesque creatures for the first time was enough to petrify an ordinary person.

Because of that, most survivors were still being trained by instructors from the Aether Dominion Civilization to prepare themselves for combat.

But Daniel was different from them. Unlike everyone else, he possessed knowledge about this world that very few people knew.

That was why he had secretly sneaked into the front lines, hunting weakened abominations in the shadows while rapidly accumulating experience points.

After killing several more injured creatures, he finally checked his status window.

Satisfied with his growth, Daniel couldn’t help but smile faintly.

Tomorrow, the academy would hold its evaluation exam, an competition designed to assess the new awakeners.

If I want to, I can easily take first place. He muttered with indifference.

Most participants were still only Level Two or Three. With his experience and knowledge, they stood no chance against him.

However, he wasn’t particularly interested in the competition itself. In fact, he couldn’t care less about it. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

Because tomorrow, there was something far more important waiting for him, which is the hidden legacy he had been preparing to obtain.
