Couldn’t afford to cry for too long, or even show a trace of sadness. Evelyn practiced her smile in the mirror, noticing a few missed calls on her phone, all from Logan Shaw.

Evelyn forced her spirits up, then called Logan back.

As soon as Logan received the call from Evelyn, he anxiously started: "Evelyn! Did something happen? I’ve been waiting for you to call me back."

"Nothing’s wrong, I went to meet Cece," Evelyn explained quietly. "She’s having some difficulties with Julian, so I went to comfort her."

"The Keaton Family doesn’t agree?" Logan sighed. "Looks like she has a long road ahead of her still."

"Yes!" Evelyn responded gently. "So, I’ll come over to get the tickets later, and then bring them to her. We probably won’t have dinner; let’s celebrate after your concert successfully ends!"

"Alright!" Logan replied. "Anyway, Lefty and Righty miss you too. Let me know when you’re coming to get the tickets, and I’ll bring them out as well."

"Sure!" Evelyn didn’t show much enthusiasm.

Right now, her mind was entirely occupied by Cecilia’s situation, and she didn’t want to engage in anything else.

"Are you still worried about Cecilia’s situation?" Logan asked.

Hearing no response from Evelyn, Logan continued, "I know you and Cecilia are really close, but you can’t handle her relationship problems for her. To gain the Keaton Family’s acceptance, Julian has the greatest responsibility, not you, understand?"

Evelyn let out a wry laugh, feeling as if her heart had been pierced by needles.

She really wanted to ask Logan, if she could handle Cecilia’s relationship problems, what should she do?

"Logan." Evelyn’s voice was very soft, "Why... why can’t people like Cece and I marry into wealthy families? Why are we excluded from such families? We haven’t done anything wrong!"

Logan’s heart tightened as he listened to Evelyn’s sorrowful questioning.

He had known from the beginning that Evelyn being with Caden Lockwood would certainly face many obstacles.

Even more so, the obstacles Evelyn faced would be far greater than Cecilia’s.

"Have you ever regretted it?" Logan asked. "Actually, you could have a more peaceful life."

Evelyn involuntarily asked herself in her heart: Regret?

"What right do I have to think about regret?" Evelyn bit her lip, "Anyway, things have already developed this far."

A lot of things were out of her control from the very beginning.

Now, she could only take it one step at a time!

"Evelyn." Logan gripped his phone tightly, then softly said: "If you ever feel like backing down, or if you’re tired and want to give up, come find me anytime."

Upon hearing this, Evelyn’s breath hitched, her mouth opened to speak, but she didn’t know what to say.

"I have regrets." Logan said solemnly, "Evelyn, I hope... you won’t forget the confessions I made to you..."

Evelyn blinked, the entire world seemed to fall silent all of a sudden.

"I want you to remember." Logan continued, "Evelyn... I am truly attracted to you."

Logan’s words sent a shiver down Evelyn’s spine, she clenched her teeth, and every cell in her body tensed up.

"I don’t want my love for you to be forgotten as a joke." Logan lowered his voice, "Evelyn, my feelings for you are serious."
