Chapter 495: Chapter 495: Where Is There Such a Cold Woman?
"Young Madam, is there something you want to hide from Mr. Julian?" Yvette’s tone, like her expression, was icy cold.
"It’s not my secret, it’s Cece’s!" Evelyn laughed appeasingly, "You don’t have to call me Young Madam, just call me Evelyn."
"The secret Young Madam wants to keep, I will make sure to keep it." Yvette responded coldly, "But when I feel it’s necessary to tell Mr. Julian, I will naturally do so."
"Please don’t be like that!" Evelyn moved closer to Yvette, her big eyes shining with sincerity, "We will be spending most of our time together, so you can really just call me Evelyn! Besides, what kind of situation would make you feel the need to tell Little Uncle? Yvette, you know! Little secrets between women shouldn’t be told to men, right?"
Yvette’s brows furrowed, looking at Evelyn, expressing her displeasure: "Mr. Julian instructed me to protect your safety, and if you don’t cooperate, it would cause me to derelict my duty. I don’t want a blemish on my career."
Listening to Yvette’s official tone, Evelyn’s enthusiasm was completely deflated.
Evelyn couldn’t help but wonder: Is there really such a cold woman?
"We can be friends!" Evelyn said with a hint of grievance in her voice, "Why must it be just a cold relationship of protection and being protected?"
Looking at Evelyn’s innocent big eyes, the corners of Yvette’s lips awkwardly twitched.
The feeling was as if she were a fierce demon, and Evelyn a little bunny.
A demon bullying a little bunny was truly too unethical!
Who in this world decided that demons must satisfy every demand of the little bunnies?
Yvette felt very awkward under Evelyn’s innocent expression and could only respond: "I promise, I’ll call you Evelyn from now on!"
"So you’ll also promise to keep it a secret?" Evelyn pushed further, "Don’t worry! The things we’re hiding from Little Uncle won’t put me in danger! As a bodyguard, your first rule is not to lie. You must keep your promises!"
Saying this, Evelyn already assumed Yvette had agreed, and smiled exceptionally brightly.
A few black lines fell down Yvette’s forehead, seeing Evelyn’s look, she couldn’t bear to refuse her any longer.
She sighed deeply in her heart, with a premonition that she’d always be blackmailed by Evelyn in this way.
After returning to the villa, Evelyn locked herself in her bedroom.
It was only at this moment that her tears fell one after another.
Her heart hurt as though a myriad of armies had trampled over it, she clutched her chest, feeling suffocated by Cecilia Lynch’s words.
She didn’t want to leave Atheria, didn’t want to leave the villa, didn’t want to leave Caden Lockwood.
But, what if her departure could truly pave the way for Cecilia Lynch and Julian Keaton’s happiness?
Wasn’t there another way to handle Cecilia and Julian’s relationship?
None, right?
If there were, Cecilia wouldn’t be so despondent.
Yet, they couldn’t even find help.
Because, involving Cecilia’s critically ill mother was not an option.
Evelyn always hoped Cecilia could live well, Cecilia had helped her a lot over time.
Now, she could help Cecilia, yet...
Evelyn felt she was extremely selfish.
If it were Cecilia, she would surely have left Julian to fulfill her, right?
Thinking so, Evelyn felt even more that perhaps, she really should leave.
