Chapter 92: Chapter 92: Why Are You Together? (Part 1)

’It will all belong to Jean then. When the time comes, I’ll figure out a way to get a piece of the family fortune from him.’

’All of the Sullivan family’s assets can’t just go to Justin Sullivan alone. I’m a Sullivan too.’

Selena Sheridan changed her shoes and headed outside, happening to overhear Amanda Thorne’s suspicious voice, "I remember Georgia Thorne is outside too."

She froze mid-step. It was undeniable that Amanda’s words had a significant impact on her.

’Earlier at dinner, the way Jean looked at Georgia Thorne was off. Now the two of them are outside... Are they talking?’

Outside, Georgia Thorne didn’t have time to explain before she saw the door to the house open and a figure emerge.

She couldn’t make out the person clearly, but there was an eighty percent chance it was Selena Sheridan.

’Selena absolutely cannot see me with Justin!’ She anxiously turned to leave.

Justin Sullivan grabbed her by the elbow, acting as if he didn’t realize they had fallen into Amanda Thorne’s trap.

He held on tightly, refusing to let her go. "Georgia, I’ve tried, but I don’t think I can let you go!"

"Let go of me first. Whatever it is, can we talk about it later?"

Georgia Thorne tried to yank her hand away, but Justin Sullivan stubbornly gripped it even tighter. "No! We have to talk about this right now. I’m afraid you’ll just avoid me again later!"

Georgia was so frantic she broke out in a sweat. This Justin Sullivan was unbelievable. "Justin Sullivan, we’ve been set up! Selena is coming out. If you don’t want her to see us like this, then let me go right now!"

Georgia Thorne was as frantic as an ant on a hot pan, at a complete loss as to how to explain the situation to Justin Sullivan.

’That Amanda Thorne is just vicious! How could she do this to me?’

It wasn’t that Justin Sullivan didn’t understand how Georgia was feeling. He had known from the very beginning that this was Amanda Thorne’s scheme.

But he hadn’t resisted. He wanted to play along and let Selena see them tangled up together.

’Selena is a good girl. If she knew the person I love is Georgia, she would definitely be the one to break up with me, no matter whose sake it was for.’

"Georgia, I can’t accept you liking another man. I can’t even stand you being close to someone else!" Justin Sullivan gripped Georgia Thorne’s elbow tightly. "When I saw you being intimate with Zane Lennox, I was driven mad with jealousy. Georgia, let’s start over, okay?"

"Justin Sullivan, be rational!" Georgia Thorne couldn’t help but hiss.

She had known Justin Sullivan for so long, but she never knew he had this relentlessly clingy side to him.

Selena Sheridan’s voice drifted closer. "Jean?"

Selena Sheridan stepped outside, took two steps, and saw Justin Sullivan. And right with him, she saw Georgia Thorne.

’So they really are together!’

It was too late for Georgia Thorne to shake off Justin Sullivan’s hand. Selena Sheridan was already running over.

Selena Sheridan stood before them, her eyes fixed on their clasped hands. Swallowing the strange feeling in her heart, she asked, "Jean, Georgia, why are you two together?"

Justin Sullivan’s hand was still clamped tightly around Georgia Thorne’s wrist. The feelings she had just managed to suppress surged up again.

With a sudden burst of strength—or perhaps because Justin had deliberately loosened his grip—Georgia abruptly wrenched her arm free.

She hid her wrist behind her back. "Selena, what are you doing out here?"

That question, coupled with that action, looked even more like she was trying to hide something.

’There’s something fishy going on between them, and Georgia is trying to cover it up so I won’t see.’

"I came out looking for Jean. I didn’t expect you two to be together." Selena Sheridan stepped forward, reaching out to link her arm with Justin Sullivan’s, but he subtly sidestepped her.

Georgia Thorne was about to explain, but Justin Sullivan spoke first. "Selena, there’s something I have to tell you!"

"Jean, what is it you want to say?"

A sudden unease washed over Selena Sheridan. He had avoided her touch, and in front of Georgia Thorne, no less.

Just as Justin Sullivan was about to speak, Zane Lennox’s voice cut in. "Georgia, what are you doing all the way over here?"

Justin Sullivan shot an annoyed look at the approaching Zane Lennox. Zane just raised a handsome eyebrow and offered a frosty smile.

"Georgia, didn’t I tell you to wait for me in the back garden? Why did you wander out to the front? You had me waiting back there for ages!" Zane’s complaining tone reached Georgia Thorne’s ears.

He was saying it for Georgia’s benefit, but also for everyone else present to hear.

Zane Lennox leaned down, casually wrapping an arm around Georgia Thorne’s shoulders with a doting smile. "Look at you, always so scatterbrained you can’t even tell the front from the back. Did you cause trouble for your uncle and your uncle’s girlfriend?"

Zane Lennox’s words were undoubtedly giving Georgia an out. She gave a hollow laugh, not struggling against his hold for the first time.

"Sorry about that. This girl’s always a bit of a klutz," Zane said gently.

Hearing this, Selena Sheridan’s wariness faded. When she heard "uncle’s girlfriend," she glanced at Justin Sullivan with a blush.

Justin showed no reaction, but he was the only one who knew how tightly his fists were clenched out of sight, just to hold back his rage.

"Were you looking for Georgia for a reason?" Selena Sheridan asked, her curiosity piqued.

"Nothing much. I was away on a business trip for a few days and brought back a gift for her."

Zane Lennox smiled, making no attempt to hide anything as he pulled a brocade box from his pocket. "Since you’re both here, you can be witnesses to our two-year anniversary!"

Inside the box was a ruby necklace.

He was half-joking. He really had picked out the necklace himself during his trip, but as for the two-year anniversary... he was just celebrating it a bit early.

Georgia Thorne glanced at the necklace in his hand and her eyes flew wide. Wasn’t this the exact one Elliot Sheridan had given her?

She instinctively recoiled, dodging Zane Lennox’s hand. "Zane, don’t!"

It was a blunt refusal. There was no way she could wear it.

But Zane Lennox just chuckled. "Georgia, are you getting shy again just because we have an audience?"

Selena Sheridan also saw the ruby necklace and stared in awe. "Wow, I’ve seen this necklace in a magazine before. It’s incredibly expensive!"

The necklace was worth over three million, and it was a limited edition.

The designer had only created five of them in total.

Georgia Thorne had once looked up this necklace and knew its value all too well.

’I already have the one from Elliot. If I get another one, wouldn’t my net worth basically double?!’

"Zane, this necklace is far too valuable. I can’t accept it!" Georgia Thorne said, shaking her head and taking a step back.

"Why can’t you?"

Zane Lennox smiled and forcibly fastened it around Georgia Thorne’s neck.

As he was fastening the clasp, he whispered in her ear, "If you don’t want Selena Sheridan to find out about you and Justin Sullivan, then do as I say and don’t take it off."

Georgia Thorne turned her head to look at him. Seeing him fasten the necklace with such a serious expression, she bit her lip, momentarily at a loss for words.

Zane Lennox was very tall, and standing in front of Georgia Thorne, he completely blocked her line of sight.

She couldn’t see Justin Sullivan’s jealous glare until Zane stepped aside.

"As expected, red suits you best!" Zane said with a satisfied smile, though he found he couldn’t quite make it genuine.

Georgia Thorne’s skin was fair, and against the ruby necklace, she seemed to radiate an even greater brilliance.

"Look how good her boyfriend is to her! And you, you haven’t given me anything!" Selena Sheridan complained, truly envious that Georgia Thorne had such a wonderful boyfriend.

At the same time, she was also genuinely happy for Georgia.
