Chapter 1230: Chapter 1230: If You Can’t Sleep, You Can Come to Me
In front of Adrian Walyon, Summer Sutton could act up however she wanted, and he’d tolerate it.
But he absolutely could not accept her disappearance.
Ever since the incident with Lorraine Hughes, this had been Watt Bennet’s biggest concern these past few days.
As long as Summer Sutton didn’t leave, no matter the truth of the matter, Watt felt there was a chance for them to start over.
But if she continuously avoided him from now on, the possibility of returning to how they were before was slim.
Summer Sutton took quite some time to recover from the incident with the thief, ignoring his words; she just calmly reminded him, "Mr. Bennet, this is someone else’s home, please sleep in the living room."
Her attitude was indifferent and cold.
Watt had initially thought he could take advantage of her shock to strengthen their relationship tonight, but unexpectedly, her panic lasted only a fleeting moment.
A bit helpless, he rubbed his nose and obediently went to the living room.
She was right; after all, this is Ariella Sawyer’s place, and Watt didn’t want to overstep.
"If you feel scared or can’t sleep, call me, I’ll be right outside." When he reached the door, he stopped, turned his head to look at her.
Watt hoped she would take back what she said, but Summer Sutton never looked at him from beginning to end.
Helpless, Watt could only leave the room and walk out.
The room quieted down once more after that.
Lying in bed, Summer Sutton couldn’t fall asleep.
First, the incident where a stranger broke into the room left a shadow on her mind about the balcony without safety nets; secondly, she had too much on her mind, too restless to sleep.
The night passed in a haze, and the next day she got up rather early.
Upon rising, her eyes were baggy, clearly showing she hadn’t slept well.
Almost the instant she opened the door and stepped out, Watt woke up.
He glanced at his watch, it was six-thirty.
In two and a half hours, Summer Sutton would have to go to work.
At this moment, Watt suddenly cherished the time they spent together, even if it was just these short two and a half hours.
He feared that if Lorraine Hughes’s issue continued as it was, with each passing day, he and Summer Sutton would grow more distant.
"Don’t bother with breakfast; let’s go to that breakfast place we used to go to." Following her into the kitchen, Watt stopped her from preparing breakfast.
Fine, if not, then not.
Summer Sutton ignored him, turned, and went to the bathroom to freshen up.
Watt followed her and stood at the bathroom door, watching her.
He didn’t want Summer Sutton to do anything else, just wanted to quietly watch her, that’s all.
Currently, Watt had little confidence in their situation and worried that after today, there would be no chance to see her again.
Summer Sutton quietly washed up from start to finish, never lifting her head even once.
Watt had many concerns about her, so as he watched, he suggested, "During the day, let someone come and install some safety nets, it’s too unsafe to live here alone most of the time. It was just coincidental that I was here last night; what would you do if something happened and I wasn’t around?"
He had too many worries about Summer Sutton.
Perhaps he had grown accustomed to protecting her, and without him by her side, he always felt summer was unsafe no matter where she went.
After a pause, he added, "If you don’t have the time, give me the key, and I’ll have someone come over and install them."
