Chapter 1229: Chapter 1229: Watt Bennet, Hurry Up and Come

Her gaze moved around the room, searching for a tool she could use to attack.

She spotted a vase not far away and ran over without bothering to put on slippers, firmly clutching the vase as a weapon in her hands, hiding her body behind the balcony door.

The sound from outside the room echoed again, growing clearer, as if it was right on the balcony.

Summer Sutton’s heart leaped to her throat; when footsteps suddenly came from the balcony, she raised the vase in her hand, ready to pull open the door and smash it down on the head of the person outside. But ultimately, she didn’t have the courage to face an unknown man who might be armed.

Nervous and sweating from her palms, Summer couldn’t hold it in any longer and blurted out Watt Bennet’s name, "Watt!"

Her call was urgent, her voice trembling slightly.

Watt Bennet stayed here tonight simply to spend more time with her.

Actually, he hadn’t fallen asleep at all before this, his gaze fixed on the direction of Summer Sutton’s room door, wondering if she would open it.

The moment he heard Summer’s voice, he rushed in almost instantly.

The room was dark; Summer Sutton hadn’t turned on the light.

Yet he managed to locate her position accurately, relying solely on instinct.

The man climbing up the balcony seemed surprised that Watt Bennet was in the room. Upon hearing Summer Sutton’s call, he intended to flee but his reaction was a step too slow.

Watt Bennet had already charged out, and in the darkness, Summer Sutton heard the sounds of their fight.

Adrian Walyon had been trained since childhood; his punch was not something many men could withstand. Indeed, the man wasn’t his match, and shortly after, there was no more movement on the balcony.

Summer Sutton quickly turned on the light and called security.

After security arrived, they took the man away, and then the police came to handle the follow-up.

After all the commotion, when the room fell quiet again, it was almost two o’clock.

Summer Sutton sat stiffly on the sofa, shocked, staring towards the balcony as if still not over what had just happened.

There really was a thief.

Watt Bennet casually predicted it...

Watt Bennet tidied up the room and came back to her side; seeing her still in a daze, he picked her up and carried her to bed.

"See, I told you living alone is unsafe. Especially for a beautiful woman." He spoke while discreetly observing Summer Sutton.

His words absolutely had a teasing undertone.

Under normal circumstances, Summer Sutton would have retorted.

But tonight, she remained silent.

Watt Bennet’s words were like curses; Summer Sutton feared he might inadvertently predict yet another mishap.

Her body felt cold, genuinely startled by what had happened.

Tonight, Watt Bennet happened to stay; if he hadn’t, and if that man had broken in, what Watt Bennet said might really have occurred.

After all, many are driven by desire.

Summer Sutton couldn’t understand how this situation landed on her.

From the incident until now, she hadn’t recovered, and when Watt Bennet placed her on the bed and lay down beside her, she didn’t even notice.

Coming to her senses, she found herself embraced by Watt Bennet.

With one arm wrapped around her, he spoke earnestly, "Summer, not seeing you safe under my watch makes me uneasy. About what happened this time, if you’re angry, if you hate me, I understand. But promise me, no matter what, don’t disappear."
