Chapter 116: Chapter 116: She Is Your Sister-in-Law?

Faye Yardley hurried over to support her. She popped a Hemostatic Pill into the other woman’s cherry-red lips and then wrapped a Bandage around her abdomen.

"Whoa, I really thought I was a goner. Good thing you’re here."

"Heh..." Faye Yardley helped her to a nearby sofa and sat her down. "Remember to pay me for the medical supplies you used."

Bella Dillon didn’t seem to mind. "Alright, alright. Are two Gold Coins enough?"

Faye Yardley simply held out her hand. ’Gold Coins. I’ll take them first and we can talk later.’

"You’re really not one to stand on ceremony, are you? We’re old acquaintances, after all." Despite her words, Bella Dillon wasn’t so stingy as to withhold two Gold Coins, and she placed them directly in Faye’s hand.

The waiters watching from the side grew red-eyed with envy. They worked so hard serving so many guests and never earned that much.

Bella Dillon flopped onto the sofa. "Ah, let me rest for a bit. I’ll charge back into the arena later."

"Are you trying to get yourself killed?" Faye Yardley sat down on the armchair next to her, propping her feet up on the opposite armrest.

She reached out and grabbed a floating bubble, then took out an iron block and stuffed it inside. When the bubble burst, a single aromatic leaf fell out.

It was a palm-sized leaf that truly gave off a fresh fragrance, one that relaxed the Spirit when smelled.

Bella Dillon’s head was practically next to hers. Seeing the leaf, she said with envy, "Your Luck is amazing. If you carry that kind of aromatic leaf with you, it’ll help you keep a clear head."

"Here, it’s yours. No charge."

Bella Dillon took it without hesitation. "Thanks. I might need it when I charge the arena later, so I won’t be polite."

"Mhm. Why are you so determined to challenge the arena, anyway?"

Bella Dillon glanced left and right, then lowered her voice. "I’ve always heard that Island Master Nash has a pool here that can raise one’s cultivation. I wanted to try my Luck. If I get the chance to go in, I might be able to... all at once..."

As she spoke, she pointed to her own mouth. "This could be normalized too."

"Huh?!" Faye Yardley was genuinely surprised. ’That little pool... it can’t be the one I soaked in, can it? That’s the grand prize?!’

But she had already enjoyed it ahead of time.

This...

"Don’t be so skeptical. Someone wins this prize every few years. Statistically, there’s a high probability that another lucky winner will emerge this year."

For a moment, Faye Yardley had no idea what kind of expression to show Bella Dillon. If that pool was only opened to outsiders once every few years, it probably had a time limit, and she...

’Geez, Nora Nash’s reward was too generous. It’s making even a thick-skinned person like me feel a little embarrassed.’

’Maybe I can give him the Mysterious Fish and Talent Stone I prepared before I leave.’

Not getting a reply from Faye Yardley, Bella Dillon patted her lightly. "Are you tempted too?"

Faye Yardley shook her head. "There are so many people. With my level of strength, I’d probably die before I could even pass the sixth stage of the arena."

"This arena isn’t just about strength. If your Luck is good, you might just breeze through it."

"Are you trying to create more competition for yourself?"

Bella Dillon paused for a moment, then said, "In that case, never mind. You probably shouldn’t go. The arena is still a bit dangerous."

"Heh..."

Bella Dillon really did rest for a while. Once she felt she had recovered, she dashed off toward the second floor again. There were quite a few others like her. freewēbnoveℓ.com

Faye Yardley continued to lounge on the sofa, waving to a waiter. "Bring me something to eat and drink."

"Yes, miss. Please wait a moment."

When the waiter returned, he wasn’t just carrying a tray; he also had a thin blanket draped over his arm.

He placed the items on the coffee table in front of her, then offered her the blanket with both hands.

Faye Yardley finally realized her posture was a bit unladylike—after all, she was wearing a knee-length formal dress. She took the blanket. "Thank you."

While she was lying there eating, drinking, and occasionally grabbing a bubble to exchange for an item, her brother and Zachary Pierce were in the arena, fighting their way through the stages with all their might.

She just hadn’t expected Logan Langdon to come over again. He even sat on the part of the sofa where Bella Dillon had been lying, very close to her head, startling Faye Yardley into sitting bolt upright by reflex.

She looked at Logan Langdon in confusion. "Is there something you need, Mr. Langdon?"

Logan Langdon smiled faintly. "Gorgeous Yardley is certainly taking it easy."

"If you want to eat, you can have a waiter bring you whatever you like. It’s all free. This is a banquet, after all. Island Master Nash wouldn’t be that stingy."

Logan Langdon raised an eyebrow. "You know that Islander 98’s surname is Nash?"

"You don’t?" Faye Yardley looked at him, her face full of curiosity. "So many people are talking. Don’t tell me you haven’t heard a single word about the Island Master."

For a moment, Logan Langdon couldn’t tell if Faye Yardley was playing dumb on purpose. He had never been able to get the upper hand with this woman.

"Do you mind if I have a piece of cake?"

"Be my guest."

Faye Yardley was speechless looking at Logan Langdon. ’What on earth does he want from me? Does seeing me relax bother him that much?’

’You may be the protagonist of the original book who’s destined to rise up and become a total badass later on, but what does that have to do with me, Faye?’

’I’ll walk my sunny road, and you can cross your rickety bridge. Why are you forcing yourself on me?!’

’You’re the great male lead! Have you no shame?’

"Gorgeous Yardley, do you dislike me very much?"

"Mr. Langdon, you’re not a Gold Coin, so how can you expect everyone who meets you to like you? And even then, not everyone likes Gold Coins."

Faye Yardley really felt Logan Langdon was full of himself. ’How could he say something like that?’

’It’s good to be confident, but being too narcissistic is a problem, isn’t it?’

"It seems Gorgeous Yardley really doesn’t like me."

Faye Yardley: ...

"Sister-in-law, what are you doing here? You must be starving. We’ve already prepared lunch for you." A big guy walked directly toward Faye Yardley with a warm smile.

Faye Yardley was looking for an excuse to get away from Logan Langdon anyway. She felt like talking to him made her brain go haywire. She stood up, placed the blanket aside, and said to him, "Excuse me, Mr. Langdon, but I must be going. If you need anything to eat or drink, just call a waiter."

With that, she walked around the coffee table and left with the big guy.

Logan Langdon watched her retreating back, frowning. He repeated softly, "Sister-in-law? She’s already another man’s woman?"

The realization left a sour taste in Logan Langdon’s mouth, as if a piece of meat he had his eye on had been snatched away by someone else first.

He beckoned a nearby waiter over. Once the man arrived, he asked, "Who was that big guy just now?"

"Replying to you, sir, that is the Fourth Island Master of our island. Do you have any other questions, sir?"

Logan Langdon’s pupils contracted at his words. The implication was that their leader was Islander 98 himself!

He had also seen Island Master Nash when he made his appearance. A man like that...

Logan Langdon clenched his fists, then said in a faint voice, "No, that’s all."

Logan Langdon naturally didn’t think he was inferior to Island Master Nash. As long as he was given enough time, he was confident he could surpass everyone!

"Big Guy, thanks for showing up when you did."

"Don’t mention it. Are you hungry, Sister-in-law?"

"She’s your Sister-in-law?!"
