Chapter 115: Chapter 115: Exchanging Bubbles, a Huge Profit
Luck is an ethereal and intangible thing, yet it undeniably exists.
Faye Yardley had cleared five stages in a row. She could now pick a random bubble or choose to continue.
She didn’t choose to continue. She had been lucky to pass five stages, but that didn’t mean her luck would hold out.
Besides, the challenge ring involved combat. The fact that she hadn’t faced a single fight in five straight stages meant the probability of encountering one later was much higher.
’Even though I want to get stronger, I still have to know my own limits.’
Content, Faye Yardley casually picked a pink bubble, stored it in her backpack, and chose to exit.
By now, many others had already left the challenge, either voluntarily or involuntarily. One look at them and Faye Yardley knew they had been through brutal fights.
The injuries on each and every one of them were so bad that Faye Yardley winced in sympathy just looking at them.
She looked up, but Nora Nash was long gone. The hall was truly massive, with numerous attendants weaving through the crowd, offering simple first aid and, conveniently, selling medicine.
Faye Yardley made her way to the very center of the hall, where the transparent bubbles were most concentrated.
There were definitely things inside them, but what they were, you could only find out after making a trade and popping the bubble yourself.
She wasn’t worried about not seeing her brother or Zachary Pierce. After all, both of them were far more willing than her to gamble for some completely unknown reward.
She was different. Although she wanted to get stronger, she also cherished her life.
Faye Yardley tapped a bubble and chose to trade. She casually took out a piece of wood. The bubble swallowed it in one gulp, then POP! It burst, dropping a small, Ice Blue Flower.
She reached out and caught it. It was just an ordinary little flower, albeit with a pretty color and a slightly longer lifespan.
’Just as I thought. Nora Nash isn’t running a charity.’
’But for the challenge ring, you get a reward just for clearing it. Wouldn’t that mean he’s all cost and no profit? Why would he do that?’
’He must be gaining something from it, I just don’t know what. Otherwise, he couldn’t host this every year.’
’A lot of people attend, too. The strange thing is, he doesn’t seem to care about a guest’s strength or status, treating everyone with a sort of impartiality.’
’So, as long as people show up, he profits somehow?’
’Ugh, forget it. It doesn’t matter whether I figure it out or not. It has nothing to do with me.’
Suddenly, a tall woman with long, curly hair appeared before her, exuding a heavy fragrance. She looked like she was all legs from the neck down, and her face was set in a scrutinizing expression.
"So you’re the little lover of Nora Nash that everyone’s talking about?"
Faye Yardley let out a small "ah" and blinked innocently. "Who’s spreading that? I haven’t heard that rumor."
’Everyone else calls me sister-in-law. How did I become a ’little lover’?’
"Hah. It’s useless to deny it."
The woman reached out to grab Faye Yardley’s chin, but Faye took a step back, dodging the attempt.
"Hmph. I’m warning you, stay away from Nora Nash. He’s not someone a little girl like you can covet."
Faye Yardley replied very obediently, "Oh, okay."
Melissa Chapman truly looked down on such a wimp. She hadn’t even said anything truly harsh or made a move yet, so why did this girl back down so easily?
Other than a pretty face, she couldn’t see any other merits in Faye Yardley. Would Nora Nash really be interested in someone like this?
However, she knew this hall wasn’t the place for her to be stirring up trouble, so with a cold snort, she too disappeared.
Faye Yardley watched as the space before her returned to normal and pinched her nose. She had almost sneezed just now, which would have been rude.
She couldn’t help it; the beauty’s heavy perfume had been simply overwhelming.
’Could it be that Nora Nash rejected that beauty because her perfume was too strong?’
"What are you thinking about?"
Nora Nash’s voice suddenly sounded from behind her.
Faye Yardley spun around and playfully punched his chest. "You’ll scare someone to death like that! Why do you people love appearing and disappearing like ghosts? Your admirer just left, by the way. Why did you suddenly change your clothes and put on a mask?"
"I was worried she might do something to you, so I rushed over. Since you’re okay, I can relax. Have fun, and call me anytime if you need anything."
"Okay."
Sure enough, in the blink of an eye, Nora Nash was gone—and so was the Ice Blue Flower in her hand.
’What kind of skills do these people have?’ Faye Yardley felt her envy was about to curdle into jealousy.
"Cheapskate. Couldn’t even spare me a flower. Doesn’t that mean I’m out one piece of wood?"
She looked around at the strangers surrounding her and noticed that the way they were secretly glancing at her had changed.
No one came to bother her; in fact, a large empty space had cleared out around her. Faye Yardley paid it no mind and continued trading basic materials for more useless things.
A little red flower, a small sapling, a piece of crystal, a bubble ball...
Faye Yardley was having a grand time.
As it turned out, exchanging these small items could bring its own unique kind of joy.
You never knew what a piece of wood might get you in the next moment.
No one was competing with her for the nearby bubbles, and she wasn’t desperate for any particular item, so it became a simple, joyful game of exchange.
However, when she tried to trade the crystal she had just gotten from another bubble, the new bubble rejected it. But when she used a crystal she’d gotten from a box opening, the bubble accepted it.
This time, it traded her a Crystal Ring.

She slipped it directly onto the middle finger of her left hand.
’This one item makes up for all the previous trades, and then some! This is a huge win!’
"Gorgeous Yardley, I didn’t expect to see you here," Logan Langdon said, glancing at her hand. ’Two rings. If they both have special Attributes, that would be impressive. If they’re just decorations, they’re not worth paying attention to.’
Seeing Logan Langdon approaching, Faye Yardley put on a polite but distant smile. "And yet, here you are too, Mr. Langdon?"
"True. Has our little beauty exchanged for any goodies?"
"Why? If I haven’t gotten anything good, is Mr. Langdon planning to compensate me out of his own pocket?"
Logan Langdon found the young woman before him to be quite a handful. She wasn’t nearly as understanding, considerate, and tactful as Chloe Hughes.
Faye Yardley couldn’t care less what he thought of her. She’d never found Logan Langdon agreeable anyway, finding him somewhat conceited and lacking a sense of personal space.
Seeing that he just smiled without answering, Faye Yardley said bluntly, "If you have no other business, Mr. Langdon, please don’t disturb my bubble trading. There might not be anything good, but you never know, right?"
"Right." Logan Langdon had also noticed that everyone else seemed to be keeping their distance from her, leaving more bubbles in her area. "Gorgeous Yardley wouldn’t mind if I stay here, would she?"
Faye Yardley shook her head. "I don’t mind. Please, Mr. Langdon, make yourself at home."
With that, she turned and walked away herself.
Leaving Logan Langdon with an ugly expression on his face.
What made him even more uncomfortable was that wherever Faye Yardley went, others automatically parted to give her ample space. freēwēbnovel.com
’On what grounds?!’
"Faye, quick, help me!"
Hearing the voice, Faye Yardley saw Bella Dillon, covered in wounds, clutching her stomach as blood gushed nonstop from between her fingers. She was staggering toward her.
