Chapter 116: Chapter 110: Bait
Dean slapped his forehead and muttered, "The Old Man is doing it again... Sigh, when will he grow up?"
Zeke and Cass looked at Dean curiously.
Dean said, "Every once in a while, the Old Man says something knowledgeable and then likes to act mysteriously when you ask him how he knows it. From what my father told me, he’s been doing it since before I was born."
Cass asked, "But why?"
Dean replied, "I don’t know, maybe he thinks that it makes him look cool."
The boys looked at Leonel with judgmental eyes. frёewebnoѵēl.com
Leonel scoffed and said, "You guys are just jealous."
Zeke retorted, "That’s my line."
The two stared at each other, neither willing to give in. Then they heard Cass’s voice.
He said, "Guys, are you done? We have real work to do."
They both looked at him. Their eyes seemed to be asking the same question: *What work?*
Cass said, "Am I the only one who’s worried about my education?"
Zeke asked, "You mean the War Academy?"
Cass replied, "Yup. We’re already thirteen. And we’re still not enrolled in the War Academy, or any other educational institution for that matter."
Dean said, "Cass is right. You guys need to get into the Academy this year."
Zeke said, "I guess it won’t be entirely useless."
Dean looked into Zeke’s eyes and asked, "What do you mean by that? I know that you were in the other Academy in your other life. Do you think that the War Academy is beneath you?"
Zeke, being Zeke, didn’t sugarcoat his words at all and said, "Kind of. But not because of that reason. I have destroyed organizations from the inside. I was the Heavenly Demon. I have led armies to war. I was the ruler of 250 million people. Do you really think that I would learn anything new at the Academy?"
As Zeke was saying this, he involuntarily emitted the aura of an emperor. Seeing this, Dean sighed. Zeke wasn’t wrong. Although it was for a relatively short time, Zeke did do everything he just said. But then Dean’s expression changed.
He asked, "Then what did you mean by what you said before? I mean, why won’t it be entirely useless?"
Zeke said, "To build connections, of course. And to train some special individuals."
Dean asked, "Special individuals?"
Zeke said, "Individuals who played a huge role in the war. Individuals who could have been much stronger had they met the right people at the right time."
Dean asked, "So you do want to attend the War Academy?"
Zeke nodded and replied, "As I said, the Academy has its uses. Besides, Cass still needs to go. This dum-dum’s battle instinct is like the only thing he has going for him. So..."
Cass, who was standing behind Zeke, remained silent. He just raised his hand and gave Zeke a bonk. Or at least he tried to. Zeke just dodged. Cass’s hand didn’t stop and followed Zeke’s head, but he dodged again. He continued speaking while dodging.
He said, "But I need to make some preparations first."
Dean looked at the spectacle in front of him and asked, while trying to control his laughter, "What kind of preparations?"
Zeke said, "I need bait to attract those individuals to the Academy. Most of them didn’t attend the Academy either. They didn’t find it that useful."
Dean said, "The only ones who don’t attend the Academy belong to the royal families of the four Empires."
Zeke said, "That is not entirely true. Many geniuses with resources just don’t see the appeal. And the royal families will be crucial in the war."
Dean asked, "So how are you going to attract them, so to speak?"
Zeke said, "Mael and the others are already at the Academy, aren’t they?"
Dean nodded and said, "I gave them fake identities and did everything to make Alessio’s story legitimate."
Zeke asked, "I’m guessing that they’re doing extremely well at the Academy?"
Dean nodded and said, "Everyone is curious about the Neo-Nephilims. They have received invitations from many families to pass on the bloodline."
Zeke said, "Ew, they’re just eleven years old. Physically, at least."
Dean rolled his eyes and said, "When they grow up. These families offered to fully sponsor them if they agreed to marry their people and have kids with them in the future."
Zeke said, "Like they need any money. Scoff, Nephilim Pharmaceuticals doesn’t lack anything. Are these organizations full of idiots? It’s literally in the name.
Anyway, imagine what will happen when word spreads that the descendants of Aurevion, and the successors of both the Neo-Nephilim Clan and Nephilim Pharmaceuticals, are going to attend the Academy."
Dean’s eyes lit up as he said, "These individuals will flock to the Academy."
Zeke nodded and said, "Especially the individuals from royal families. They will definitely attend the Academy to recruit us or at least build connections with us.
The rest will come as well. Because our friendship equals friendship. Not to mention, they think that we have Aurevion behind us. So they would try to use us to recruit them. It’s simple math, really."
Dean asked, "So what’s your plan for the next three months? The entrance exam will be held then."
Zeke said, "I don’t know about Cass, but I have work to do. So I’ll be focusing on that. There is the construction in Aurevion, and then there is the Magic Circle. It would increase our strength greatly when it is completed..."
Leonel asked, "Is it the same Magic Circle that you used to kill the people from the Righteous Alliance?"
Zeke replied, "Yup. But that version was very crude and needed a large amount of Faith to stabilize and use it. I want to take some time to upgrade it."
Leonel asked, "What about you, Cass?"
Cass replied, "I didn’t realize it, but I’m tired. So I will be taking a break and doing something other than cultivating."
Dean asked, "Like...?"
Cass replied, "I’ve actually been thinking of learning blacksmithing. I feel like learning how to forge weapons myself will help increase my mastery over them even more."
