Chapter 504: Chapter 504 - Epilogue(Part 4)

"Mhm, yeah. It wasn’t easy, but I managed to convince her to take a few hours off to de-stress a bit. We walked around the nation, got some snacks and sweets, and then we messed around a bit, of course...considering that she had no experience when we first met her, she’s been real horny lately," Grinned Celes, as she snuggled up to me. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

"Yeah, I noticed as much myself. At least her workload is starting to decrease now that she’s delegating a lot more, but she could still stand to work a lot less, she’s so stressed out," I nodded, as I stifled a yawn.

It was a few days later, and Celes and I were currently at home, lazing about in bed. It was late in the evening, the sun starting to set. She’d just gotten back home after heading out to hang with Arucei, determined to convince her to step away from her duties for a bit.

And, evidently, she succeeded.

"Honestly, after we first took over the city, it took me some getting used to. I kinda missed our cave, it really felt like home by the time we moved out...but now, I feel like I’ve really settled in here, I’m getting more and more used to our new routines everyday. And it’s nice to walk around and have everyone be friendly and pleasant, I’ve never experienced that before," She smiled, before kissing my cheek.

"That’s pretty depressing, this world is pretty awful. But yeah, we’ll make sure no one goes through anything like that here...we’ve already made it clear that we won’t tolerate any prejudice or discrimination for any reason, we’re going to have to make sure we enforce that," I replied, as I turned towards her and placed my forehead against hers.

"Mhm, yeah. This is kinda stating the obvious, but I’m so, so glad I met you, Larrk...my life’s gotten better and better with each day since then, you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I love you," She smiled warmly, before tenderly pressing her lips against mine.

"I love you too, Celes...and yeah, I’m incredibly glad I met you too. I was living pretty aimlessly in this world until I met you, I was wallowing so deep in depression that I felt like I’d never get over it. But that changed after I met you," I replied, as I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her closer towards me, closing my eyes as I felt the warmth of her body against mine.

"Mm...that feels nice. Wanna just stay like this for the rest of the day, until we fall asleep?" She suggested, as she caressed my cheek.

"Sure, sounds good. I’m feeling nice and comfy, so I’m not going to move for a while, anyway," I responded with a wry smile.

"Heh, then it’s settled. What about tomorrow? What should we do?"

"Whatever we want to. Got anything in mind?" I asked her.

"Hm...let’s go out for lunch. There’s a restaurant I’ve been wanting to try, I heard that it’s really good. With the way food’s been improving, I can’t wait to see how tasty everything will be in a few months," She grinned with a gleam in her eyes.

All the restaurants and stuff are still getting used to the new cooking techniques and recipes I gave them, but they’re steadily adapting and getting the hang of it. freewebnσvel.cøm

"Yeah, and once they’re more used to it, they’ll be able to start experimenting and trying out new, different techniques and ideas they come up with, it definitely bodes well for the future," I mused thoughtfully.

"That’s definitely something to look forward to. Hey, um, hope this doesn’t bring down the mood, but, I’ve been wondering...are you really happy with this life? You lost so much when you died in your last life, I’m sure you still miss it," She remarked, a concerned look on her face.

"Hey, you don’t need to worry about that, though I do appreciate it...yeah, I’d be lying if said I didn’t miss my old life, it was all I thought about after I first ended up in this world. But that’s not the case anymore...I do still think about it from time to time, but I’m more than happy with this life at this point. And that’s almost entirely because of you," I assured her, as I kissed her forehead.

That isn’t a lie, I really do mean it. It’s only natural that I’d still dwell on everything I lost, all things considered, but I really am genuinely happy in this life.

I’ve got Celes by my side, any worries and concerns I have always disappear whenever I’m with her, just being around her makes me happy. And there’s Arucei and Celt too. Arucei’s gotten really close with Celes and I at this point, and I’m pretty friendly with Celt.

And it’s not just them, pretty much everyone in the nation are warm and friendly towards me, it’s such a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere.

"That makes me happy to hear. And since we’re effectively immortal, we can literally be together forever. I wonder, how different will the world be in the future? Ten years from now, a hundred years, even a thousand...maybe it’ll look like the worlds in the movies and anime and stuff you’ve shown me," She remarked in fascination.

"Well, I suppose we’ll find out eventually. That’s another thing to look forward to. But let’s not look too far ahead, we’ve got all the time in the world, so let’s just take it one day at a time and enjoy ourselves to our hearts content. For right now, I’m more than happy just looking forward to waking up next to you everyday," I smiled, as I took hold of her hand and gave it a slight squeeze.

"Heh, that’s unusually cheesy, coming from you...but, well, I feel the exact same way, Larrk," She replied with a warm smile.
