Chapter 490: Chapter 490 - Arucei Drea
"Yes, anything, just name your price and-...," Began the girl.
"Your body," Smirked Celes in response.
"Wh-What?"
"If you want our help, you’ll have to pay us with your body. If that’s not something you can do, then leave, we’re done talkin-..."
"Okay, you...you can do whatever you want to me, you can have your way with me! If it means you’ll help me, I’ll pay any price!" She declared with a determined look on her face.
"Huh?" Celes blurted out in bewilderment, before staring at me.
Wasn’t expecting that, huh?
"Look, we aren’t going to get involved in whatever problem you want us to deal with. Just leave us alone," I sighed in response.
"But she said you’ll help me in exchange for my body!"
"She was trying to scare you off," I replied bluntly.
"Actually...this could be kinda hot...," Muttered Celes, an intrigued look on her face. free𝑤ebnovel.com
Come on, seriously? Well, this girl is cute, I suppose. But I really don’t want to get dragged into some conflict that has nothing to do with me.
"Please...if you help me, you can have everything I own, you can have my very life!"
"Hm...excuse us for a moment, wait out here," Remarked Celes, before pulling me into the cave.
"What’s up? Are you actually considering this?" I asked her.
"Well...maybe. I mean, think about it. I’m pretty comfortable in this cave and all, but getting to live in an actual house would be nice. Carns City is right by the border, we can turn it into a stronghold. We can attack the city, kill everyone who resists us, take over the place and then turn it into an independent, like, mini-nation," She suggested thoughtfully.
"I don’t know, ruling a city is a serious hassle, I can speak from experience."
"I mean, you ruled an entire nation, so this should be a lot easier, right?"
"No, I was only in charge of one city, I divided up the responsibility for the rest of the nation between my friends. And I was still busy all the time," I sighed wistfully.
"I see...well, how about we discuss it with her anyway? Maybe we can figure out a solution that works. And if not, we’ll just refuse and use force to chase her off if necessary. Also, if we do come up with a solution that you’re okay with, we’ll get to have our way with her...she’s pretty cute, so I’m sure you’re not uninterested in that," She replied with a smirk.
"I mean, yeah, she’s attractive and all...but are you okay with that?" I responded with a raised eyebrow.
"Yeah, I’m cool with it, just so long as I’m the main girl," She grinned, before I patted her head with a wry smile.
"You definitely won’t have to worry about that. If you’re really on-board with this, I suppose it’s fine by me too. You know, you’re turning into quite the degenerate, aren’t you?" I replied in bemusement.
The Entertainment function in my System also has porn, which she started getting into a few months ago. And it seems this is the result of that.
"Heh, I take that as a compliment!"
"You really shouldn’t, though."
"Anyway, come on, let’s talk it out with her."
"Yeah, alright."
We then headed towards the entrance and called the girl into the cave, taking a seat on the ground as she stared at us with a hopeful look on her face.
"To start with, we-...wait, sorry, what was your name again?" I asked her.
"Arucei Drea."
"Right. Now, then, Arucei...I’ll start by saying we haven’t yet made our decision, whether we help you or not will depend on the situation. For starters, how many Adventurers are in Carns City, and how many S-Ranks?" I asked her.
"Oh, um...I’m not sure about the number of Adventurers, but I think it’s less than two hundred. And there are six S-Ranks."
"Hey, check it out, Larrk...she’s pretty powerful, she’s got the potential to become S-Ranked herself, and she’s currently at the borderline of A-Rank," Remarked Celes, as she used Appraisal.
That explains how she was able to keep up and follow us here. Let’s see...hm, she’s got Telekinetic Magic, which is supposed to be pretty rare.
"Huh? How did you know that?" Responded Arucei with a surprised look on her face.
"That’s not important. Are there any other Adventurers who would be willing to fight against the Nobles, even if it means teaming up with Monsters like us?" I inquired in response.
"Well, the Commoners among the Adventurers probably would. Over this last year, the oppression towards Commoners has gotten really severe, so I’m sure they’d be okay with doing anything if it means they can get rid of the Nobles who oppress them. As for the Nobles, you’ll need to fight the vast majority of them, but there might be a few among the lower-ranked Nobles houses, like me, who could side against the other Nobles. Including one of the S-Ranks...of course, I can’t say for certain whether they’ll fight with you."
"If we do this, what happens after we kill all the shitty Nobles?" Chimed in Celes.
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"Who takes over ruling the city? The rest of the nation isn’t just going to ignore it, you know. They’ll probably send an army of Adventurers to take back control of the city, possibly kill everyone to make an example out of them, and then assign some other shitty Nobles to govern the place," I pointed out.
"O-Oh, I, uh..."
"You haven’t thought that far ahead, have you?" I surmised with a sigh.
"I-...yes."
"What about you? Think you can rule the place?" Celes asked her.
"Huh? Well, I do know a bit about managing territory, my parents taught it to me as a part of my education. But I can’t fight off an army," She responded nervously.
"Then, how about this? After we free the city from its current rulers, you’ll take over, and we’ll serve as the city’s guards. We’ll deal with any serious threats. And in return, we get a nice place to live in," I proposed in reply.
