Chapter 491: Chapter 491 - Please Be Gentle

"Oh, that could work. But the problem is resources and supplies. We certainly won’t be able to trade with the rest of the nation, and the other nations are out of the question," Frowned Arucei, before going quiet, looking like she was deep in thought.

Right, based on what Celes has told me, the human nation of Hyuma looks down on the other nations, human supremacy is basically the norm here. Naturally, the other nations despise the humans as a result.

"Another thing, you said Carns City is by the border, right, Celes? Which nation is that border shared with? Because we might have to worry about an attack from that side too," I pointed out.

"No, that’s unlikely to be a concern. On the other side of the border is Levef, the nation of Elves. They despise conflict, so they’re unlikely to do something like invade another nation. Hyuma has tried to invade them in the past, so they used their Magic to make the border uncrossable.

It’s a wide stretch of toxic wasteland, which not only prevents humans from entering Levef, but also prevents the Elves from entering Hyuma. So, there’s no realistic concern in regards to a potential invasion from the Elves," Explained Arucei.

"I see. How’s the land in and around the city? If it’s near a wasteland, does that mean the soil is barren?"

"No, the city is about a kilometer or so in from the border. And there are a decent amount of resources in the area surrounding the city. There’s a small forest with a lot of fruits, berries and such, caves with precious metals, there are a couple of streams and a river nearby, an oil reserve just outside the city, and the city has an agricultural district with livestock farms and crop fields too," She informed us.

Huh. The term livestock farm reminds me of the Vampires in my previous world. ƒreewebɳovel.com

"I see, then the city could be self-sufficient. We could set up a border around the region, and have all these resources within that border. Don’t suppose there are any Adventurers in the city with high level Earth Magic?" I asked her.

"Oh, there’s a B-Rank with really advanced Earth Magic. And he’d definitely join our side...he’s a Commoner, but he’s probably a Noble’s bastard, because his Magic is really powerful. He’s pretty timid and is afraid of battle, so he gets picked on and mocked a whole lot. He’d definitely be S-Ranked if he wasn’t scared to fight."

"Cool, we can have him put up walls around the region, then. What resources would we be lacking?"

"Spices, for one. Textiles and fabric as well. I can compile a list of the important resources the region is lacking in," She suggested.

"Yeah, that’d be helpful. Spices are easy enough to solve, we just have to find some plants and start growing them in the region. Well, that wouldn’t work with salt, but we can figure something out."

"Oh, that won’t be a problem, one of the streams I mentioned has a lot of natural salt licks, and there are rock salts in the caves too."

"That’s encouraging, sounds like setting up a self-sufficient region is very much possible. We can also look for more plants, like fruits and vegetables, to grow in the area, stuff that isn’t currently grown there," I nodded thoughtfully.

"Oh, we should grow weed too," Suggested Celes with a grin.

"Oh, definitely."

"Huh? You want to grow weeds? Why?"

"No, not weeds, a plant we call weed, that isn’t a weed. It’s basically a drug," I informed her.

"Uh, I don’t know about that..."

"Don’t worry about it. Anyway, what else do we need to discuss?" I mused, before we continued our discussion, clarifying more details and fine-tuning our potential plan.

Arucei seemed pretty knowledgeable about this stuff, and I’ve got a decent amount of practical experience under my belt. And Celes, uh...she brings the good vibes, I guess.

The discussions went on for a while, as we got into more intricate and specific details. We might be getting a bit ahead of ourselves, especially since we haven’t even decided if we’ll be doing this or not.

But if we are going to do this, we might as well plan things out as much as possible, this is no simple task, after all. So, the more clarity we have as to how we’ll pull it off, the better.

"I don’t know about you, Larrk, but I think this plan is looking pretty solid," Remarked Celes, a gleam in her eyes.

"Yeah, I’ll admit, this isn’t half-bad, we can definitely make it work. Alright, then, I guess we’re doing this."

"Thank you so much! I-...!" Began Arucei.

"Hold on. I will say, we won’t be doing it right away. First, we need to train you up. The two of us may be powerful, but it won’t hurt to have a bit of extra power on our side. How long it’ll take will depend on you," I informed her.

"I understand, you make a good point. Very well, then," She nodded, before adding, "By the way, what should I call you?"

"I’m Celestia Levina, and this is Larrk Stryker," Celes introduced us with a smile.

Wait, didn’t we say that I’d only reveal my first name to her, and introduce myself as just Stryker to others? Well, she’s called me by name multiple times around Arucei already, so I guess that ship has sailed.

"Hold on, the wanted former S-Rank? You were a Unique Monster all along?" Responded Arucei in bewilderment.

"Oh, no. I used to be human, and then got turned into a Unique Monster."

"Huh? That’s actually possible?"

"Sort of. It might have been a one-time thing, so I don’t know if anyone else will be able to do it," Celes shrugged with a wry smile.

Yeah, I doubt it. I was only able to turn her into a Unique Monster thanks to the Goddess’s favor, and she said it was an exception, so it’s unlikely that I’ll be able to do it to anyone else.

"I see. Anyway, thank you for accepting my request. I’ll do everything I can to repay you," Arucei bowed her head with a grateful smile.

"Ah, that reminds me. You agreed to pay with your body, so why don’t we collect the promised payment now?" Suggested Celes with a smirk.

Huh, we’re really doing this? fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

"Y-Yes, of course. Um, I’ve never done anything like this before, so...please be gentle," Responded Arucei nervously.

"Fuck, that reaction was a real turn-on," Gulped Celes, looking pretty aroused.

Yeah, no arguments here.
