Chapter 107: The Reckoning Part 8: The Fallen
"My gosh, you really don’t know?" Denis asked in amazement.
"I knew your father for many, many years. He’s a great man. He told me long ago that one day you’d come to visit me. I assumed he’d tell you about me before he left for Paradise."
"Are you in Uthra?" Sora asked politely.
"Yes I am! Cyrus and I were best friends. He always excelled at everything, except with numbers and investments! That’s my speciality! Denis said while laughing.
"We met in grade school, but once he met your Mother, we didn’t see each other much. Let’s step into my office."
Brie smiled while asking, "Who occupies the other two offices?"
"My son and daughter. They’re currently training as investment managers. They’re currently studying at University!" Denis humbly bragged.
Meanwhile, Xander admired the vast variety of animals. He discovered creatures he’d never seen: snakes, geckos and bearded dragons occupied an enclosed section. The wall to his left held a giant fish tank with hundreds of species of fish. He spoke to every fish, anticipating a response that never came.
He never pouted and continued talking to each animal. He approached a beautiful gray bird with red tail feathers.
"Hewwo!"
"My names Jethro bird, what’s your name?" The parrot said in Denis’ voice.
"My name Xander! You’re pwetty!"
"Hahaha! Call the the doggies. Daddy going to bed, night, night!
Xander laughed as he continued talking and playing with the bird.

Meanwhile, in Denis’ office, Xander’s parents still looked confused. freēwebnovel.com
"Are you sure your Father never mentioned you’re one of the richest individuals in this universe? The receptionist informed me you’d like to add your beautiful wife to your accounts. She’ll become just as wealthy!"
Brie blushed and covered her large smile with her hands.
Sora laughed while shaking his head. He sarcastically said, "of course we are."
Denis chuckled and excitedly continued explaining.
"You have 15 different types of currencies spread across 30 accounts and investments in the Nexus, Eerth, Meruta and Aziri stock markets. Over the past two centuries, you’ve made substantial currency on Exteria and in these markets! You are the 69th richest person in the Universe!"
Sora and Brie both looked at Denis in disbelief.
"How is this possible?" Sora asked embarrassingly. "This is going to sound really stupid and short sighted, but we didn’t even consider the existence of other planets until quite recently."
"That’s understandable, Sora. Exteria is very advanced and a self-sufficient planet. Your mother left after you were born and your Father only stayed for 7 years. Anyway, the receptionist explained you brought an additional 1,000 ultravites?"
"Yes we did!" Sora exclaimed as Xander teleported on his mom’s lap. He was happy as a clam!
"Jetty funny. He silwee."
"Thanks little buddy. He’s fun and a special guy. I hatched him from an egg and fed him as a baby!"
"Den den so kewl! Mama water pwease!"
"Brie, Sora, fancy anything? I could use a drink myself." Denis said while standing up and turning to open a mini refrigerator. He grabbed Xander a bottle of water and handed it to him.
"Tank youz!" Xander said as he twisted off the top and started sipping the bottle carefully.
"Whatever you have that doesn’t contain alcohol," Sora smiled.
Denis grabbed three bottles the couple didn’t recognize. It contained a pink liquid in a well designed bottle. He opened all three and handed Sora and Brie their drinks.
"This is really good, what is it?" Brie said after taking a large drink.
"It’s called Lady Rose and it relaxes you using a bunch of natural and healthy ingredients. One of my clients is the owner and CEO. Your father invested to help friend and his share from the investment turned into his first Nexian million!"
"We just know the vites system. Do you mean a million dollars, like the ancient planet Earth?" Sora asked while he took another sip of his drink.
"Why yes I do! Nexus existed long before Earth in a different realm and universe. The first planets here were Nexus, Mertuta and Arizi. The sun and moon were the only two stars. This lasted centuries before the universe expanded exponentially. Mind you, this was about 10,000 years ago,"
"Amazing! What caused or created the massive amount of new planets?" Sora asked.
He noticed Xander sleeping so he used his dimensional void to pull out the crib and set it in the corner of the office. "You don’t mind, do you?"
"Go ahead," Denis whispered as Brie slowly wrapped him tightly in a blanket. She kissed his forehead gently and placed him gently down inside the crib.
Denis smiled and took a drink of Lady Rose before continuing.
"According to the Nexian King Gene Gamma, the founder of this planet, a great battle occurred in Limbo between Zeus and Typhon. Typhon recruited a team of gods and goddesses. The war shattered so many immortal souls from both sides."
"I thought Athena was the ruler of the gods and goddess?" Sora asked, confused.
Denis stood up, stretched and grabbed three more Lady Roses, opening them and handing one both Sora and Brie.
"I know this is a massive amount of new information, bear with me."
Sora and Brie smiled and listened carefully.
"Zeus created new races during the war and expanded the universe to diversify the people. Typhoon’s creations were not persecuted or exiled. They were given a second chance to pray to the gods and goddesses of Paradise. The majority of them did, but some refused. Those who betrayed Paradise are a group known as ’The Fallen."
"How many different races are in this group?" Sora asked as he enjoyed the calming effects of his delicious beverage.
"I’m amazed how little your Father told you. I’m not sure, but people continued to choose different sides on a regular basis." Denis said with a shrug. "I chose to believe in Zeus and appreciate his biggest decision."
"What happened? I have over 500,000 books in my library and not one explains any of this. I don’t understand Denis. Why would my Father leave me with King Tanguin, tutors, trainers and a giant mansion that’s bigger than most small cities but exclude this?" Sora asked while running his hands through his hair.
Brie gently rubbed his back and whispered, "it’s ok babe. I’m sure he wanted to protect you."
"Sorry Mr. Dingsdale, I didn’t mean to derail your story. Please continue."
"After Zeus and Paradise won the war, Typhoon’s soul was publicly shattered in Limbo."
"That’s quite a statement. Why didn’t Zeus shatter more souls?" Sora asked.
Zeus appointed his youngest child, Athena, as his successor and absolute ruler. Displeased with their Father’s decision, Artemis, Zeus’s oldest daughter, convinced Apollo, Hermes and Dionysus to partner with Hades in ’The Fallen.’ Dennis said while stretching his neck. "They created a realm similar to Paradise and named it the Underworld."
"Athena’s siblings betrayed her and created a new place for souls to pass on after death? Did all of her siblings join The Fallen?"
"No Sora. Athena is your aunt. Your Mother and Father continued creating new lifeforms and planets to diversify the universe. They honored Zeus by continuing to appreciate all souls from every universe."
Sora and Brie’s jaws hit the floor.
’Why the hell didn’t my mom, Chronos, or anyone tell us about any of this?!’ Sora thought in frustration.
Denis yawned while looking at his watch. "Well, I am sorry for the information overload. You came to talk about your finances, not listen to me ramble about the past."
"Please don’t apologize. Thank you so much for educating us on this galaxy’s past! I need to ask my Mother and Father why they decided to shelter me from this information." Sora said while Brie tapped her foot nervously.
"One more thing before we discuss your new financial plan. Azazel, Helen and Eris teamed with The Fallen because they’re afraid you and your party are too powerful for them." Denis said with a wink.
’Is this guy a prophet?!’ Sora thought in awe.
