Chapter 106: The Reckoning Part 7: Nexus

Sora and Brie enjoyed the feeling of freely walking through the space port into the outskirts of the city without being recognized. As absolute rulers of Exteria, everywhere they went they were showered with love and attention.

They held Xander’s hand as he walked in between the two, gently using their arms to swing in the air.

They stopped to look over a map and decided to use one of the bullet trains to the central city, Nespa.

"Yes we have these on Eerth as well! Have you been?" a stranger politely asked.

Brie answered because Sora looked confused.

"Just read about it but we’ve been meaning too! I heard it’s great. Are you here for business or pleasure?"

"Business I’m afraid. You have a beautiful family, I miss mine," the stranger responded as he pet his dog, who sat on his lap.

"That’s a beautiful dog you have, sir." Sora smiled. "Is he your companion?"

"Yes! He is. He’s a good boy. You should see his beast form, he’s unbelievable!"

Sora and Brie smiled. Xander looked at the dog confused.

The train finally arrived at their stop and the Lockhearts thanked the man for the friendly conversation.

"If you’re ever on Eerth, look me up. My name’s Connor Gray and I own some hotels. I’ll let ya stay a night or two for free!"

"Nice to meet you Connor, I am Sora and this is my wife Brie. The little guy is Xander. We’re the King and Queen of Exteria!"

"That’s amazing! Haven’t heard of that planet, though. There’s too many to keep up with these days!" Connor laughed as he and his dog walked the opposite way.

"Connow nice. Whats doggie?" Xander asked.

"A dog is an animal and they live with humans! On Eerth, there are special animals that can speak with their partner telepathically. The animal is able to transform into a unique form to help and protect their owner! They’re really special, all animals are!" Sora explained excitedly.

"I want aniknmawl." Xander said with a smile.

Brie laughed. "We don’t have them on Exteria. Maybe if we ever visit Eerth, we’ll be able to find one for you there!"

"But look!" Xander pointed to other humans walking around with companions. Cats sat on some owners’ heads, dogs walked without a leash, some horses gave their owners rides through the central streets. There was even a woman sitting on a giant tortoise as it slowly walked toward a restaurant.

"Maybe one day buddy, let’s go check out this financial institution first!" Brie said happily.

After a short walk, the trio stepped into a large, 5 story building and looked for the counter. There were 15 lanes, each with a receptionist or teller waiting on a customer. They waited in line for about 5 minutes, until they approached a friendly, younger woman.

"Hello, welcome to Nexus Financial, how may I help you today?"

"We are here to make some investments." Sora said with a kind smile.

"Planet?"

"Exteria."

"Oh! We just had someone from Exteria the other day. He was also with a pretty woman. Anyway, have you met with one of our financial advisors before?"

"No, this is our first time to Nexus, actually," Sora admitted, embarrassed.

"Well welcome! I have to say we don’t have a lot of folks from Exteria here, so don’t be embarrassed. How much money did ya bring sweetie?"

"1,000 ultravites," Sora said politely.

"Oh dear! What did you say your name was hun? I don’t think you mentioned it."

"Sora Lockheart and I’d like to open an account with my lovely wife Brie."

The lady said "aw" and typed on the computer for a few seconds.

"I’m so sorry Mr. And Mrs. Lockheart. Mr. Lockheart you already have an account that was opened on April 3rd, 7019 with a very substantial sum. You have a financial advisor, he’s actually our top advisor Mr. Dingsdale. Let me give him a call. You three go on and have a seat in the VIP area over to the right." She said with a very friendly smile. "Someone will be right with you."

"Thanks!" Sora said, and Brie followed up with "We appreciate it."

Both of them were confused. They walked over to the VIP area and Xander sat quietly, even though he was bored.

"Why would no one tell me about Nexus? You’d think the King or my dad or SOMEONE would have mentioned I had an account on a different planet." Sora vented quietly.

"I know babe, let’s just see what’s going on. It seems like ever since you completed your soul, you’ve been on a unique journey to discover yourself, but all these other secrets keep popping up," Brie whispered while kissing his cheek.

"I’m just glad I met you my first night or I’d gone mental by now," Sora said while placing his face in his hands.

"How you doing Xander? You’re being very good today!" Brie gave him a snack

"Good jus boared." He said while wiggling his feet from his chair. He grabbed the snack and started eating it. "Nummy thank you mama."

"Sorry buddy, we’ll do fun stuff lat—"

"Mr. and Mrs Lockheart? Hi, I’m Denis Dingsdale! It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, Sora. Let’s head up to my office with your family and talk privately," the man dressed in a golden blazer, black dress slacks, a black dress shirt and golden shoes said with a huge smile.

"I’m on the fifth floor. Whose this little guy? Hey buddy! How are you?"

Sora and Brie gave Xander a nod and Xander lit up.

"I’m doin weal good sir! I wike your soot!"

After Denis entered a password, the doors opened, they slid in, and when they heard the ping on the top floor, their eyes widened as the elevator’s entrance opened to an entire private floor with several different sections.

"Well go ahead buddy! There’s some animals over there, just don’t take them out ok?" Mr. Dingsdale leaned over to tell Xander, who was staring at the children’s section.

"Mama Dadda that otay? I be good. I pwomise!"

Sora and Brie encouraged Xander to go play as they were the only ones on this very large fifth floor. It had three giant offices, a kitchen, a bathroom, a lounge, and a bar. It felt like a mini-mall, not an office at a financial institution.

"How many televisions do you have up here Mr. Dingsdale? There sure is a variety of stuff to watch! I swear on Exteria all we have is a ton of different news channels!" Sora explained as his eyes darted at the different shows.

"About 40. We even have an Exterian news channel on for ya, right over there!" Denis pointed and laughed.

Sora facepalmed and Brie patted him on the back.

"Anyway, the reason you’re up here is because it’s not often one of the richest people in the Universe doesn’t ever stop by Nexus!"

"Wait, what?!" Sora and Brie said at the same time.
