Chapter 79: Chapter 79: The Children Are Sick
The Qin family was very surprised to hear this.
They couldn’t help but look at each other.
"They really have a house?" Mrs. Qin asked, bewildered.
"Yes. Mingxue had someone buy it herself. It’s not too far from here, just two streets away."
Qin Wenhao didn’t explain much; after all, he had only just found out himself.
At this, Mr. Qin spoke up directly. "Since they’re coming tomorrow, that’s fine. Here’s what we’ll do: send some groceries over to them this afternoon. The mother and daughter have just arrived and surely haven’t had time to buy anything."
Mrs. Qin immediately said, "I’ll go over this afternoon and take a look."
Mr. Qin nodded. "That’s fine."
Qin Wenhao was in no mood to talk much with anyone else. He missed his two little ones.
"Mom, where are the children?"
"The two little ones are still a bit weak. They had diarrhea and a slight fever last night, but they’re sleeping now."
The moment Qin Wenhao heard his children were sick, he grew anxious.
"Are they in my room?"
"No, in Aunt Li’s room."
Qin Wenhao headed straight there.
Mrs. Qin couldn’t help but sigh when she saw how concerned he was about the children.
"He’s finally starting to act like a father..."
Mr. Qin said in a deep voice, "He has a wife and children now. He not only needs to act like a father, but like a husband as well."
"Mom, it’s great that our sister-in-law has arrived. With their mother here, everything will be all right. It’s just—I heard she plans to attend university. What about the two children when she starts school?"
The one who spoke was Lan Qingman, Qin Wenhao’s older sister-in-law.
Mrs. Qin shot her older daughter-in-law a look. "What’s there to worry about? University is important, of course. Aunt Li can watch the children, and if worst comes to worst, we’ll just hire someone else. Simple as that."
A flicker of something passed through Lan Qingman’s eyes. "Mom, Aunt Li has been with our family for years. She can’t just leave with Wenhao and our sister-in-law. We’d never get used to her being gone! How about this? I have a distant relative who’s very capable. Why not have her come and help our sister-in-law with the kids?"
Mrs. Qin waved her hand dismissively. "There’s no rush to decide that. From now on, let the third son and his wife make their own family decisions. Now, go help set the table for the meal."
Lan Qingman’s smile froze slightly.
"...Alright."
「 」
Qin Wenhao knocked on Aunt Li’s door.
Seconds later, the door opened softly.
Aunt Li was very happy to see Qin Wenhao. "The two little ones are asleep."
Qin Wenhao nodded. "I’m going in to check on them."
Aunt Li immediately stepped aside to let Qin Wenhao in.
"Last night, the two of them had diarrhea and were throwing up. They had fevers, too. Thankfully, the medicine they took today has helped a lot."
Qin Wenhao said in a low voice, "This must have been hard on you, Aunt Li."
"Your mother and I took care of them together." Aunt Li didn’t dare take all the credit.
Besides, when the children weren’t sick, she could look after both of them by herself.
But when they were sick, she couldn’t manage them alone.
Qin Wenhao looked at the two children. They had just started to put on a little weight, but now it seemed they had lost it all again.
Their faces were especially pale.
’They must have suffered a lot last night.’
「 」
Originally, Qin Wenhao was supposed to go to Fu Mingxue’s place with Mrs. Qin in the afternoon.
But in the afternoon, the two children’s fevers returned.
He had no choice but to take the children to the hospital first.
Fu Mingxue didn’t know about this.
After they took a shower, Fu Mingxue took her mother to a state-run restaurant for a meal.
They also bought a few things at a store they passed on the way.
When they got home, they cleaned the entire courtyard house from the inside out.
They were busy until about four in the afternoon.
"Mom, I’m going out to buy some groceries." ’This is a good chance to find a place to take out those rewards from my space.’
