Chapter 1328: Chapter 1328: Failed Attempt at Settling Scores
Due to Thomas Fisher’s timely intervention, a sibling conflict was avoided. He signaled to Evelyn Taylor with his eyes, silently telling her to leave first, while he tightly grabbed her brother with both hands.
"Ryan! We haven’t had a chat in a while, come on! Let’s find another place to talk properly." As Thomas Fisher signaled silently to Evelyn, he didn’t forget about the infuriated Ryan Taylor. He pulled his second brother toward his car parked nearby.
Although Ryan Taylor was very angry at the moment, he hadn’t lost complete control; he still understood the importance and urgency of the situation.
Following Thomas Fisher’s pull, he walked aside; this was a bridge his good brother provided for him and his sister, and he couldn’t just disregard it.
Evelyn Taylor instinctively wanted to follow, but as soon as she lifted her foot, she saw Thomas Fisher turning his head and signaling her with his eyes, clearly indicating she shouldn’t follow.
She lowered the foot she had just raised, stood in place watching the two men walk away. After seeing them drive off, she finally withdrew her gaze and walked towards her own car.
Lily Turner! How can you be so relentlessly haunting? I’ve kept my distance from you, yet you still manage to influence my life.
Remembering what Ryan Taylor had just said to her made Evelyn particularly angry. After getting in the car, the more she thought, the angrier and more unsettled she felt, so she drove straight to the Linton Family estate.
Eager to confront Lily Turner, Evelyn drove increasingly fast, and about half an hour later, she arrived at the Linton Family.
Screech!
Due to the excessive speed, she executed an abrupt halt when parking.
The ear-piercing sound of the brakes drew the attention of Amelia Linton, who was playing with the children in the courtyard. She turned to look towards the courtyard entrance.
At this moment, Evelyn Taylor just got out of the car, slammed the door shut, and pushed open the gate to walk inside.
At the instant of entry, she saw Amelia Linton playing with three children, looking at her direction. She suddenly calmed down.
Once calmed, she realized coming here was a colossal mistake, not only would she gain nothing but also invite trouble for herself.
"Evelyn! Do you need anything?" Seeing Evelyn push open the gate and enter the courtyard, Amelia Linton, considering the abrupt braking earlier, felt a bit concerned, worrying something urgent might have happened.
Hearing this, Evelyn hesitated for a moment, quickly shaking her head to cover her inner nervousness, "It’s nothing, just saw you with Ryan and the others playing as I passed by, so I stopped to take a look."
As she walked over, the sight of three babies prompted a spontaneous, yet untrue, reason in her mind.
"I thought you had some urgent matter hearing that abrupt halt," unaware, Amelia did not question Evelyn’s excuse, entirely believing it was as Evelyn said, she just passing through.
To avoid Amelia’s continued inquiry, Evelyn diverted her gaze toward the three playing babies when nearing, "You three little ones, why don’t you greet me?"
Due to Lily Turner’s involvement, Evelyn typically wasn’t very friendly toward the three little ones. The three little ones were perceptive and weren’t close to her at all, even somewhat repelling her.
"Hello, Auntie!"
Upon hearing Evelyn call them, the three babies tilted their heads to look at her. Besides Rosie Thompson greeting her, neither Evie nor the third mentioned said a word.
