Chapter 1329: Chapter 1329: The Big Bad Wolf Is Here
Because Rosie Thompson and Evie Holmes look almost identical to Lily Turner, Evelyn Taylor doesn’t like the two little girls at all, and even feels some disgust. The two little girls can sense that she doesn’t like them and feel no closeness towards her.
"Grandma! We’re going back inside to find Mom."
Scarlett Holmes greeted Amelia Linton briefly, then grabbed her younger sister Evie Holmes and ran towards the door. When the two little girls reached the door, they started pounding on it together, shouting in unison: "Grandma Li! The big bad wolf is here, hurry up and open the door for us!"
The big bad wolf they were referring to was Evelyn Taylor, who had just appeared in the yard. As they shouted, they secretly glanced back at Evelyn Taylor.
Evelyn Taylor and Amelia Linton both noticed the little gestures of the two girls, and they both knew who was being called the big bad wolf, but their reactions were completely different.
Evelyn Taylor was so angry she wanted to rush over and teach the two little girls a lesson, but as soon as she thought of the consequences of such an action, she immediately abandoned the idea.
Those little brats!
She glared hatefully at Rosie and Evie, then withdrew her gaze from the direction of the door and turned to the person next to her, her expression and demeanor quickly reverting to how they were before.
Evelyn Taylor thought she was being discreet, but she didn’t realize Amelia Linton had seen it all. When she smiled at Amelia, Amelia responded with a cold face.
Seeing this situation, she seemed to sense something, and her heart suddenly sank.
"Evelyn! If you don’t have anything else, I’m going back inside with Ann. He has school tomorrow." Amelia Linton spoke with a cold face and an unpleasant tone.
Evelyn Taylor was neither blind nor deaf, nor was she a fool; she deeply felt the change in Amelia Linton’s attitude towards her. She was now sure of her suspicion that her glare at the two girls had been noticed.
"I don’t have anything else, so I’ll not go inside. I’m leaving." Without waiting for Amelia Linton to respond, Evelyn Taylor turned and walked toward the courtyard gate. Although she had her back to Amelia Linton, she knew Amelia was watching her, and her steps quickened increasingly.
Watching the swiftly departing figure, Amelia Linton sighed angrily, took out her phone from her pocket, hesitated for a moment, and then dialed Harriet White’s number.
"Amelia!"
After a few rings, Harriet answered the phone.
Amelia Linton looked at Evelyn Taylor, who was getting ready to drive away, before speaking to the person on the other end of the line: "Evelyn... did Evelyn encounter something today?"
Initially, she hadn’t noticed, but just now she realized that the girl had been acting very oddly, almost arguing with the two little girls.
If she hadn’t been there, the girl might have dared to approach and confront her two granddaughters.
Thinking about this, a strong sense of hostility suddenly arose within her.
"Did you see Evelyn?"
Harriet’s voice came through the phone, and Amelia Linton quickly put away her hostile feelings. At that moment, she saw Evelyn Taylor had already driven out of their courtyard gate.
"She just left our house, looking pretty angry. I asked her what was wrong, but she didn’t say anything." Amelia Linton truthfully relayed what she had seen to the person on the other end of the phone, without any reservation or concealment.
