Chapter 1323: Chapter 1323: You Three Take Your Time Discussing Life
Ryan Taylor’s words made Harriet White suddenly a bit irritated. Her eyes shifted and she retorted immediately, "It’s exactly because she’s not a child anymore that I’m anxious about her marriage. If she could resolve the marriage issue herself, would I really need to work so hard to arrange it for her?"
She paused, took a slightly deep breath, and continued, "Neither of you siblings give me peace of mind. I’m almost worried sick about you two, yet you don’t appreciate it at all."
Originally, Ryan Taylor intended to resolve matters concerning his sister and good friend, but didn’t expect to get caught in the crossfire. To snap back would mean confronting his beloved mom; if he didn’t snap back, he’d feel stiflingly uncomfortable inside.
"Our children are already quite sensible, so don’t be unsatisfied," Aiden Taylor glanced at the unhappy Ryan Taylor and spoke up for his son, although these were also his heartfelt words. He truly believed his two children were sensible.
Upon hearing this, Harriet White suddenly turned her gaze to Aiden Taylor, "Go ahead and spoil them! Sooner or later they’ll be ruined by you, and then you’ll be the one crying."
Her husband not supporting her was one thing, but he even stood on the children’s side against her, which made her very angry and dissatisfied.
Hearing his wife’s complaints about him, Aiden Taylor felt quite wronged. The one spoiling the kids was clearly his wife, yet she turned the accusation back on him. Where on earth could he go to argue his point?
"You..."
Aiden Taylor was prepared to defend himself a bit when he suddenly saw Evelyn Taylor’s figure appear at the living room door. He instinctively shifted his attention to the living room entrance.
Harriet White and Ryan Taylor noticed his unusual behavior, turned their heads, and followed his gaze to see Evelyn Taylor standing at the living room door.
"Why are you all staring at me like that? Is there a flower or a word on my face?" Evelyn Taylor felt a bit uncomfortable being stared at by the three people in the living room. She touched her face with her hand to disguise her unease.
The three of them didn’t speak immediately but kept staring at her, waiting for her to continue speaking.
Since none of the three responded to her, Evelyn Taylor pretended to cough once to alleviate the awkward atmosphere, then she spoke again, "You three can slowly chat about life; I’m heading out."
With that, she lifted her foot and headed toward the door.
"Where are you going?"
"It’s so late, where are you going?"
Ryan Taylor and Harriet White spoke simultaneously, the mother and son wanting to express the same meaning.
"I’m going out on a date."
Evelyn Taylor responded loudly, then disappeared from their sight.
Ryan Taylor didn’t think much, immediately left the living room, and pursued. He didn’t care what his parents in the living room might think, and hurriedly chased after his sister who left first.
"Where are you going now?"
Bang!
The response Harriet White received was the sound of the door closing. She let out a sigh towards the door, "These two kids, when they aren’t finding someone, they’re not finding someone, but once they do, they’re out running around all the time."
Seeing both siblings going out, all she could think about was them meeting their respective partners. She complained vocally, but in her heart, she felt happy.
"The kids are grown up. You should let them handle things themselves. Each of them has their own sense of proportion," Aiden Taylor knew the truth of the matter. Even if he didn’t, he felt assured about the siblings; he’s clear about what kind of people his children are.
