He looked frightened and nervous too like he knew Yan planned on killing him. I checked his history and it confirmed my thought. He knows what’s waiting for him. I could tell he was confused as to why the timeline changed so much and why I came back when I should’ve died in Beast Valley. Kian was petrified that he was going to be tortured because the timeline changed. He was perplexed as to what he should do since he wasn’t pulled back from the universe and sent back to Versal."
Eden felt astounded, he and Cael were more than dutiful in their search of all of Colton’s prisoners and they were sure they had all of them.

Yitian said:
"I thought you would still be in empress dowager’s chambers."
"I decided to take a break, I need your help."
The twins glanced at Eden. They seemed to be waiting for him to bow and Eden was well aware. He’s not going to bow unless he wants to, now that he is free he’ll do whatever he wants.
Atlas looked between the three a little uncomfortable, he gets that Eden doesn’t want to bow so the twins should let it go. He said:
"This is my good friend Eden."
Eden smiled.
"It’s nice to meet you Yitian and Yujin."
The twins frowned and their eyes darkened slightly. Doesn’t he realize he is talking to the emperor and the great general? Yitian asked:
"Don’t you bow to the emperor?"
Eden took a seat and said:
"I don’t, I only bow to one person my lover."
Atlas took a seat and looked at the twins. They had relaxed after hearing that Eden had a lover. Seems like they were just jealous. Yujin asked:
"How did you and Atlas meet?"
Eden simply answered:
"I sensed his power and went to help him master the elements. I can hear mages calling and I go where I’m needed. I’m here because I sense that another mage needs me and I need your help to speak to him privately. He works for Yan and I don’t want him to know."
The twins looked at Atlas.
"Yan is going to use a new powerful mage tonight to do his bidding. Eden wants to make sure that he doesn’t fall into the dark side. Can you have one of your shadow guards abduct him and bring him to the secret chamber so they can speak?"
The twins nodded. They trust Atlas so if he trusts Eden they’ll trust him too. Furthermore, if Yan is involved that means that he plans on using that mage to do something bad.
Yitian said to someone in the shadow:
"Come forth."
A man in black appeared out of thin air. Yitian asked Eden:
"What’s his name?"
Eden checked Versem.
"His name is Kian he is currently at the Guangdong Inn."

Atlas and Eden stood up. Eden looked at the twins and smiled.
"Thanks for your help."
The twins nodded with a smile. Atlas said:
"I’ll walk him to the secret chamber then come back."
When the twins nodded he walked Eden to the chamber again. Eden took a seat around the table waiting for Kian. He looked down. He feels guilty that this person kept going through hell.
If Atlas hadn’t randomly found him he would still be stuck in that endless cycle of pain and misery.
Atlas looked at Eden who was frowning. He took a seat in front of him.
"Are you okay?"
"I looked him up, it makes no sense that that kid ended up in the same situation as us. Most of the prisoners were people like you and me who didn’t care about anything besides personal gain but Kian is pure and naive. He is this shy kid who worked his ass off to pay his mother’s hospital bills. She was sick and staying at the hospital but Colton just plucked him out of his life. He’s never done anything to hurt anyone, if anything people did to him."
Kian was sixteen when his mother became sick, so he got a job and stopped going to school. He worked long hours but every day after work he would stay by her side at the hospital for an hour.
His mother was in a coma for a few months already and the doctors kept advising him to pull the plug on her but he always refused and kept paying and go see her every day hoping that today would be the day she would wake up.

Eden passed a hand through his hair frustrated. Most people on the list of prisoners are cold-blooded and ruthless but Kian isn’t and he was going to be the one who stays stuck forever.
Atlas was slightly stunned, he’s never seen Eden this upset before. He would always have a smile on and advice for him. He can tell that he is mad at himself for almost leaving this Kian behind.

"It’s okay you found him and you’ll guide him to freedom too."
