Chapter 633: Chapter 633: I’d Rather You Write on My Body
Chloe Reed’s red lips tightened, and she gave her fingers a slight wiggle.
Only then did Walker Grant release her hand.
She wrote on his palm: "Don’t you yell at Daniel. I’m the one who told him to do it. He’s my bodyguard, so of course he does what I say. If you yell at him again, I’m leaving."
The last stroke had barely been traced when Walker Grant gripped her hand again.
His voice was tinged with a hint of resignation. "Alright, I’ll listen to you."
Then, he turned to Daniel, his tone turning cold. "You’re her bodyguard. Your job is to protect her. If anything like this happens again, her safety is your number one priority!"
"Yeah, okay, okay, I get it." Daniel nodded repeatedly. "You have no idea, I actually regret it too. Ugh... Why did I listen to her? I’m just a softie. I can’t stand to see her upset."
Walker Grant’s tone was icy. "Is there anything else?"
Daniel froze for a second, then said, "Nope, nothing."
But he didn’t get up.
Walker Grant’s expression darkened.
’Strange.’
’His eyes are covered with gauze, he’s sitting on a hospital bed in a patient gown, and his face is pale and sickly... so why is his aura still so powerful?’
Daniel felt the chill in the air and instinctively stood up. He glanced between them, and then it hit him.
’Tsk...’
’Does he think I’m in the way?’
’Heh, what a scheming man!’
’Now that he’s blind, he has the perfect excuse to keep Chloe by his side, doesn’t he?’
Daniel shot Walker Grant a contemptuous look and said, "Alright then, Chloe, I’ll head out. Just text me if you need anything, and I’ll be right over."
Chloe Reed nodded at him.
The door to the hospital room opened and closed, and silence fell over the room once more.
Chloe Reed pulled her hand away and started fiddling with her phone.
Walker Grant faced her and asked, "Chloe, what are you doing?"
Chloe Reed tapped him but didn’t write anything on his palm.
Beneath the gauze, Walker Grant’s brows furrowed. His world was a sea of black, and he desperately wanted to know what Chloe was doing.
But he knew if he asked too many questions, he would only annoy her.
So he forced himself to be patient. The room fell quiet, so quiet they could hear each other breathe.
Soon, the rhythmic sound of a keyboard being tapped filled the air.
Walker Grant listened intently, but he couldn’t make anything out.
After a while, a robotic, electronic female voice suddenly spoke.
"Walker Grant."
"Hmm?"
Walker Grant turned his head slightly toward her in confusion.
Another burst of typing followed, and then the female voice spoke again. "Let’s talk like this from now on. It’s faster than writing on your palm."
Walker Grant was surprised. "Is that a feature on your phone?"
"Yes."
Chloe Reed was a fast typer, so it only took a few seconds for her to reply to Walker Grant.
Chloe Reed’s eyes lit up. She’d only just found out about this feature after searching online. Communicating wouldn’t be a problem anymore.
Walker Grant was silent for a long moment before he said, "But Chloe, I’d rather you write on me."
An awkward silence fell over them.
Walker Grant could feel her gaze on him.
’Hmm.’
’Not a friendly one, either.’
After about a minute, the electronic female voice returned. "In your dreams."
Even though it was an emotionless, electronic voice, Walker Grant could perfectly picture Chloe saying those words. Far from being frustrated or angry, a faint smile played on his thin lips.
