Chapter 156: Chapter 16 The Upcoming Concert
"Should I wear this set today... or this one?" Daniel Shane looked into the water mirror, torn between the two outfits he loved, knowing he could only choose one.
"Wind Moon Band, what a magical name. What does a band do exactly?" Daniel took out a bottle of Bone Protection Solution and dabbed it on his skull.
Today was the day of Wind Moon Band’s official performance, and a few days ago he had acquired a promotional flyer for their concert through a Fallen Fairy.
"I’ll go with this one." Lich Daniel put on his magic robe, made of exquisite white satin and golden threads patterned with the scent of Calming Flower, wearing it brought a faint fragrance of flowers.
It was his favorite outfit in life, and after being reincarnated as a Necromancer, he brought it with him to the negative plane.
Daniel checked his face in the water mirror, which looked very normal. Due to the Bone Protection Solution, his skull also seemed quite good-looking, at least in his own eyes.
"There are four more Magic Hours, and then the concert will begin. I should go buy a ticket." Daniel walked out the door, feeling a bit of excitement in the moment.
It was truly... a much-missed emotion, one he hadn’t felt since becoming a Necromancer.
"The chiffon cake is delicious, so I’d like five more, please." Lafra gazed earnestly at Chen Ze.
"Alright, I’ll make them for you in a bit, but Lafra, could you do me a favor?" Chen Ze nodded, chiffon cake was just a bit egg-intensive after all.
After all, a standard chiffon cake required twelve eggs, Chen Ze felt that amongst all the cakes he made, it was the most egg-consuming one.
"What is it?" Lafra propped her chin up and stared directly into Chen Ze’s eyes. freeweɓnovel.cѳm
Chen Ze couldn’t help but swallow nervously.
"It’s about that, today is the day of the concert by Wind Moon Band organized by Hastur Organization, and I’m quite interested in attending your world’s first concert, so..." Chen Ze spoke slower and softer, increasingly feeling that Lafra’s mood was turning for the worse.
If Lafra’s face was a weathervane, then just now it had gone from sunny to cloudy, and then to a thunderstorm.
"Hmph!" Lafra snorted, turning her head away.
Chen Ze felt nervous; even if he was clueless, after experiencing what just happened, he had a rough idea of Lafra’s feelings.
This realization gave Chen Ze a moment of enlightenment, and he began to recall many things that he’d overlooked before.
Seeing Chen Ze’s nervous expression, Lafra burst into laughter.
"Hahaha~ Honestly~ Truly~" Lafra stood up, with blood-red energy supporting her feet.
"You’re looking for that person’s concert, right? No problem, I’ll help you get it." Lafra seemed much happier as she approached.
"Just now, you were worrying about me, weren’t you?" Lafra asked with a hands-on-her-back, fox-like grin. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
"I... I wasn’t!" Chen Ze turned away; today’s events were a bit too much for him, an overload of information.
"Hehe~ And it’s not that I got mad because you wanted to watch someone else’s concert." Lafra went down and took a seat in the chair.
"Then what is it?" Chen Ze quickly asked.
"Make my cake first, then I’ll tell you~" Lafra, propping her chin in her hand, watched Chen Ze enter the kitchen with a helpless look, laughing very joyfully.
Chen Ze took a few deep breaths, slapped his face, but still couldn’t calm down.
"Let’s start with the Chiffon cake," Chen Ze shook his head and began to concentrate on baking the cake.
Betty was washing dishes and sneaking glances at Chen Ze, noticing that Lady Lafra had already taken the initiative. She just didn’t know how far things had progressed.
"Betty, why are you still washing dishes?" Chen Ze suddenly asked.
Betty was stunned and really couldn’t remember how many times she had washed them by now. After she saw the murderous look in Lafra’s eyes, she had quietly hidden in the kitchen to wash dishes.
"You should go to the restaurant. What if we have customers later?" Chen Ze found that cooking was truly the best way to calm himself down.
"Alright, Manager," Betty nodded, thinking to herself, there shouldn’t be any trouble if she went out, right?
With a very anxious heart, Betty slowly moved out of the kitchen.
Just as Betty came out, she saw Lafra staring at her with an indescribable intensity in her eyes.
This left Betty with a fear that struck her soul, and she instinctively wanted to return to the kitchen, feeling that the dishes she had just washed weren’t clean enough.
"Betty, come here," Lafra beckoned to Betty with a wave of her hand.
Betty swallowed nervously and walked over stiffly.
Then Lafra took Betty aside and said a bunch of things, leaving Betty to transition from fear to surprise to feeling like she had just dodged a bullet, and then she immediately pledged to take on the task with all her heart!
Chen Ze looked at the Chiffon cake he had put in the oven and scratched his head.
Lafra liked him, that much was now certain. Otherwise, no girl would do such things for someone she didn’t like.
Chen Ze felt like his life had suddenly shifted from being a Magician in reserve to being a show-off in reserve.
Come to think of it, Chen Ze used to say things like "See you never, show-offs!" and "Explode, show-offs!"
Thinking about it made Chen Ze feel a bit awkward. What was this? Him, who used to enjoy persecuting the fortunate in love alongside FFF Group members, was now becoming the persecuted?
Moreover... Lafra was so cute, so beautiful. Though her real age might be tens of thousands of years old, she was truly adorable!
Chen Ze thought that if he took Lafra out, it wouldn’t be surprising if a talent scout noticed her. This kind of lawful cuteness was just... awesome.
The sound of the oven brought Chen Ze back from his reverie. He shook his head, casting aside his multitude of thoughts for the time being.
"Lafra, here is your cake," Chen Ze walked out and handed the five portions of cake to Lafra.
"Then I’ll head back now. This time, let’s use the magic crystal from the concert as compensation for the meal~" Lafra didn’t take the cake, which was magically floating beside her.
"Lafra, you haven’t given me the reason yet," Chen Ze was a bit anxious. He felt like if Lafra didn’t tell him, he might spend the entire day fixated on it.
"Nyah nyah nyah~ I’m not going to tell you," Lafra turned around, stuck out her tongue, and then ran off.
Chen Ze’s mouth twitched, and he silently glanced at Betty, who had the expression of someone completely uninvolved.
Completely devoid of any guilt for having taught Lafra the ’nyah nyah nyah.’
