Chapter 157: Chapter 17 Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day

"Manager?" Betty was wiping the tables and looked at Chen Ze curiously.

"What’s up?" Chen Ze turned around, puzzled.

"Nothing, I just think you’re acting a bit weird." Betty almost laughed out loud, recalling how Chen Ze had nearly cut his own finger while chopping vegetables.

It looked like the necromancer-like manager had finally come to his senses, huh?

Betty suddenly felt the joy of progressing through a visual novel and achieving a good ending, although she hadn’t seen the conclusion yet, she felt it was only a matter of time.

"Is it really okay for you to do that?" Chen Ze began marinating two pork chops, planning to make himself a curry pork chop later.

"Ah?" Betty turned around, confused. If there weren’t anyone else in the restaurant, just her, she wouldn’t have even thought Chen Ze was talking to her.

"That... Lindsay, right? You just let her go back, is that really okay?" Chen Ze lowered his head and started peeling potatoes.

"..." Betty didn’t say anything, just silently wiped the tables and chairs.

"Being alone in the main plane must be lonely, without your friends by your side, and now Lindsay has left..." Chen Ze hadn’t finished speaking when he was interrupted.

"Hehe, manager, do you think I’m that kind of person? Besides, Lindsay wasn’t doing well in the human world; she’s better off returning to her tribe, where her friends are." Betty smiled, but Chen Ze felt there was some hidden emotion behind it.

Chen Ze remembered his own elementary school friends, with whom he used to get along very well, but as they grew up, they gradually drifted apart.

"Distance and time are indeed terrifying things." Chen Ze shook his head, feeling a bit thirsty.

"Eh, why is there a doorway here?" The door was pushed open, and the sound of wind chimes fluttered through the restaurant.

"Welcome to Dream Restaurant~ dear guest~" Betty quickly went to greet them.

Chen Ze, curious, poked his head out to take a look, knowing from the situation that this must be a new customer.

Chen Ze was very interested in every new customer, partly out of curiosity about their identity, and partly in hopes of recognizing someone.

Then Chen Ze saw a boy with rather long hair and some dark circles under his eyes.

Very ordinary clothes and a pair of slippers; Chen Ze understood instantly that this person must also come from a plane similar to Parallel Earth.

"Dream... Dream Restaurant? Why would the door to your restaurant open inside my closet?" The boy clearly mistook Betty for a staff member dressed in cosplay.

"Would you like something to eat?" Chen Ze stepped out; he felt the boy looked somewhat familiar.

The boy was clearly bewildered by Chen Ze’s blunt question, the super-realistic restaurant was a bit too much for him to handle.

"That..." The boy scratched his head awkwardly, not sure what he wanted to eat.

"How about a curry pork chop with rice? Suki Umita?" Chen Ze quickly asked another question. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

"Eh? How do you know my name?" Suki Umita raised his head, looking at Chen Ze in surprise.

At the same time, he kept stepping back, ready to run away if things seemed off.

Chen Ze took a deep breath; it really was Suki Umita. He had thought the boy resembled the male protagonist from "Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day" that he had watched.

I didn’t expect it to be true, and given his current look of a standard shut-in, Chen Ze thought that he must be in a timeline where he had not yet seen Menma.

"Don’t forget our restaurant’s door is right at your home, but don’t be scared, we’re just a restaurant... a bit of a magical restaurant," Chen Ze scratched his head.

It was indeed magical, the fact that the waitress was a succubus was already quite magical.

"Thank you... but I’d rather not impose," Suki Umita said with reservation, ready to leave the somewhat eerie restaurant.

"If, if one day, you encounter something inexplicable, come to me," Chen Ze couldn’t help but speak out, but it only resulted in Suki Umita’s hurried escape.

This was a very rare case of a customer running away immediately after arriving at the restaurant, or rather, the first one.

Chen Ze stood there dazed, the moment he saw Suki Umita, he was reminded of the flower that had moved him to tears years earlier.

Chen Ze shook his head, he didn’t like that feeling of stuffiness in his chest after watching it.

"Manager?" Betty perceptively noticed the fluctuation in Chen Ze’s mood.

"It’s nothing," Chen Ze shook his head and slapped his face, forcing the familiar melody out of his mind.

Chen Ze went back into the kitchen, glancing back at the restaurant’s main entrance, he was looking forward to, and hoping to see Suki Umita and Menma step in here next time.

"Isn’t there a Wind Moon Band concert tonight?" Betty asked as she finished wiping the table and joined Chen Ze in the kitchen for some curry pork chop rice.

"I’ve already talked to Lafra about it, don’t worry, we can watch it tomorrow," Chen Ze nodded. Wind Moon Band, the band that almost became hostesses, he wondered in what way they would embark on the path of idols in a different world.

Chen Ze felt increasingly eager.

"That’s enough for today, it seems like we won’t have any more customers tonight, you can go back, Betty," Chen Ze checked his phone; it was eleven o’clock.

Hastur hadn’t come, which was to be expected by Chen Ze.

After all, tonight was the first step in Hastur’s nurturing game, and for whatever reason, Hastur would definitely go to watch.

Only by witnessing the growth of the nurtured subject firsthand does one enjoy the pleasure of nurturing games, although setbacks might occur as well.

But judging by Hastur’s manner, it probably wouldn’t be an empty concert, would it?

Listening to the noise outside, Angelina stretched out her forked tongue and licked her lips.

"Everyone, do you hear that?" For some reason, Angelina felt a bit nervous at this moment.

"Mhm," Pern replied with her usual lack of expression, after all, she was a Necromancer.

"I can’t believe I’m more nervous about this than when I fought with the Berserk Demon!" Midra patted her small chest.

Meanwhile, Aria was still being instructed by Hastur at her side.

"Let me tell you again, Aria, if you mess up your dance later, I’m going to pluck all the feathers from your wings!" Hastur glared fiercely at the constantly shifting Aria, truly feeling that the restless race of Harpies were not suited to be idols.

"Alright!" The threat of plucking feathers made Aria shiver, which in turn made the other three beside her, including Angelina, shiver as well.

You want to pluck Aria’s feathers, why must you intimidate us with this pressure!
