Chapter 81: Chapter 81: Are You Really That Oblivious!?
The person’s gaze was sharp as a blade. Just locking eyes with him made Jiang Che feel as if he’d been completely seen through.
Their eyes fell on Jiang Che behind him. "Damn, this kid’s luck is just off the charts, like he’s got some kind of cheat on."
"Ahem, this kid’s got something wrong with his head. Whatever questions you’ve got, just ask me. I’ll tell you what I know." Xiong Jie stepped forward, blocking their view of Jiang Che.
"Of course. You know that by sharing your experiences, you could help countless humans survive in the Dungeons." The person speaking picked up a black case and walked into the room off to the side.
"Let’s do it here, General Manager Xiong. You know the drill." As he spoke, he took a laptop and a camera out of the black box and started setting up on the table.
Jiang Che noticed that the people, and the box, all had an emblem of a winged tiger on them.
Xiong Jie watched him work, face blank—it’s true, he did know this process.
He explained softly to Jiang Che, "This is one of our Survivor Organizations, it’s called Flying Tiger."
"It used to be a livestreaming platform. Later, after getting a streaming prop in a Dungeon, it switched to being all about Survivor livestreams. Now they cover all humanity. When we got streamed earlier, it was all thanks to their platform."
"If we’re talking about power, in all the Survivor Organizations, Flying Tiger is number one. Almost every Survivor wants in, because Flying Tiger honestly tries to help humanity. It’s the best organization out there." Xiong Jie filled Jiang Che in on the current state of human society.
"General Manager Xiong, you flatter us. If we’re talking good organizations, there are plenty out there. Flying Tiger is just doing our part." The leader waved a hand.
"I just want to introduce my little bro here, after all he saved my life. I’ll take care of him in the future. He’s got a screw loose and doesn’t know about any of this stuff. You guys don’t mind, right?"
"Of course not. But General Manager Xiong, you really lucked out this time." The guy setting up the camera grinned enviously. "I watched the whole thing. This kid’s luck is explosive. I thought he was a goner a couple of times, but nope, he pulled through in the end."
"Nah, no such thing as lucking out. He saved me, and honestly, I’m not letting him do anything risky in the future." Xiong Jie waved it off. "But if you want to train him, you’re welcome to invite him. As of now, I suppose I count as his guardian. As long as the terms are right, I’d be happy to see my little bro get a better future." Xiong Jie chatted and joked with them.
He made it clear, if they could poach Jiang Che, he wouldn’t stand in the way.
The Flying Tiger crew exchanged glances—they immediately knew, this kid had probably been bought over by Xiong Jie.
While the team was setting things up, Xiong Jie took the chance to fill Jiang Che in on what was going on.
Ever since the weirdness descended, a few Survivor Organizations had sprung up, all led by top human experts.
But regardless of which group, every single one had the same goal: keep humanity alive.
Jiang Che nodded, sort of understanding, sort of lost.
He pointed at the guy fiddling with the camera and asked, "What’s he doing?"
"Going live. So Survivors can share their wisdom." Xiong Jie’s expression didn’t change. He’d seen a lot of livestreams before, but never under this much pressure.
Because he’d never imagined he’d be the one sharing survival tips.
"General Manager Xiong, making it out alive from an SSS-level Dungeon means you’re more than capable. Sharing some experience isn’t too much to ask, right?"
"Not at all, I want to contribute to humanity too." Xiong Jie chuckled, but in his heart was frantically contacting Ding Ning.
"Master, there’s going to be a lie detector test in a minute, I need your help." The damn lie detector—lots of people could fool it, but he wasn’t so sure he was one of them.
"Just answer as usual." Ding Ning didn’t hesitate—she took control of Xiong Jie’s heartbeat, blood flow, everything that could trigger the lie detector.
As Xiong Jie’s master, this was an absolute breeze for her.
Xiong Jie’s eyes dimmed a bit. He’d gotten some rewards, his stats had improved, just not nearly as much as Jiang Che’s, that’s all.
But the moment he felt his heartbeat rhythm being controlled, he was reminded once again: even out of the Dungeon and back in human society, his life was still being firmly gripped by someone else.
"Bro, just answer whatever we ask you in a bit." The man glanced at Jiang Che and smiled. "Oh, by the way, what’d you get from that Skill Book?"
While chatting, he suddenly threw a question about Jiang Che’s skills.
"What Skill Book?" Jiang Che froze, his blankness a hundred percent genuine.
Xiong Jie almost laughed out loud. He seriously knew Jiang Che didn’t understand most of what humans knew about these strange Dungeons, even after all he’d explained.
Like "Skill Book," for example—that phrase meant nothing to Jiang Che.
For humans, a "Skill Book" was any item that gave you a skill—whether it was a ball, a piece of paper, or even an animal.
Anything like that counted as a Skill Book.
But to Jiang Che, those were just gifts from his family. Like, a ball.
The interviewer hesitated, scratching his head. He really wanted to say, "Dude, I literally saw you dig up two skills in the swamp, are you really gonna play dumb with me?!"
But Jiang Che just looked genuinely clueless about what he was talking about.
"Sorry, my little bro here is probably just super lucky." Xiong Jie covered for him. "I’ve asked him a bunch myself, he really doesn’t know."
Xiong Jie pointed to his own head and shrugged helplessly.
"The psych ward folks never explained anything about Dungeons and the weirdness to these patients."
"It’s a miracle this silly kid made it out alive, and he has no idea about anything." Xiong Jie spread his hands. "Nothing I can do."
The Flying Tiger team looked at each other, then sighed.
They’d hoped to get something out of Jiang Che before Xiong Jie briefed him, but turns out the kid really knew nothing at all.
His brain really is faulty, huh!
"You can just ask me, this is my first time on TV!" Xiong Jie rubbed his hands, eyes shining with excitement—a clear sign he was dying to go live and explain his survival hacks.
"I want to show the newbies, too—so they don’t get a couple of skills and start acting all proud! Now I’ve survived an SSS-level Dungeon, too!"
"First ever! SSS-level Dungeon Survivor!"
Xiong Jie was totally "hurry up and put me on air!"
The Flying Tiger guys suddenly felt a headache coming on. You say it’s all luck for Jiang Che, but you, Xiong Jie, just took a nap in the basement and somehow made it out alive—don’t tell me you didn’t get lucky as hell, too?
Don’t you have any self-awareness?!
