Chapter 409: MEET THE ENEMY
Felicia opened the door of the house and walked in with a bag in her hand. A cap was on her head, while she wore a nose mask for extra protection.
It’s already been two days since she escaped the prison and news about her escape has circulated the entire city. She had been resting in the cooped-up house for that long and wanted to do something productive. She was starting to run out of food since the warden didn’t even stock up her refrigerator before going for her shift at the prison.
Using some of the money she was able to find in the drawer in the bedroom, Felicia went to the supermarket to purchase some little things she needed.
She didn’t have much money on her and didn’t know how to access her bank account without anyone seeing her face. The money the warden had left behind in her house was about to run out.
Slamming the door shut, Felicia sighed.
"I didn’t think that escaping from prison would be this stressful. It wasn’t this stressful the first time," Felicia said to herself, reminiscing the first time she’d escaped, she wasn’t completely alone.
Felicia had Tobias, her elder brother to buy her some food and she didn’t need to worry about getting caught because she never left the hideout to buy things herself.
Sighing again, she threw the keys to the house inside the jacket pocket she’d borrowed from the warden’s wardrobe.
"Things aren’t going to be easy," she mumbled, heading to the kitchen.
Suddenly, she heard a knock on the door.
Startled, Felicia almost dropped the class cup she was about to use to pour herself a drink. Her eyes immediately turned to glare at the door. She didn’t say anything.
The knock came again before a voice said,
"Agnes! You’d better come out of that house and pay up the money that you owe me!"
Felicia opened her mouth but immediately slammed it shut when she remembered that she wasn’t Agnes, the warden.
"What are you still doing in there?! You think you can sneak in and out of this house however you like and I won’t catch you?! Well, I’ve caught now so you’d better come out and pay me my damn money!" The female voice threatened.
Felicia hissed in annoyance. She should have expected that a corrupt warden like Agnes would also be a debtor. But now that the woman has seen Agnes, she might not leave until she gets her money. Felicia didn’t know how much Agnes was owing and even though she knew, she didn’t have any money to pay back.
"This is just great," Felicia mumbled under her breath with a hint of sarcasm.
"You’d better come out and pay me my money else, I won’t leave here," the female voice threatened.
Felicia sighed before she shrugged her shoulders. For a second there, she thought the woman was going to threaten to break down the door and call some bulky men to do it for her, which would only expose her identity.
But since the woman intended to just sit and wait, Felicia didn’t have any problem with that. She was just glad that she’d left earlier to go buy herself some food. So, the woman can stand there and wait as long as she wants.
"Let me turn on some TV and watch some news in low volume," she said.

The next day, Felicia got ready, wearing the same clothes she had worn the previous day, she locked the door and left.
Last night, around 9 pm, the woman had finally decided to leave after she got tired of waiting for so long.
"It’s time I see my dear enemy," she said before leaving.
Reaching the school Jake attended, Felicia hid behind a bush facing across the huge school as she monitored it.
She had tried going to visit Jake at his school but just as the warden had said, the security was pretty tight, since most influential people’s children attended the school so their safety was the school’s top priority.
After waiting for a long while, Felicia checked the time on the phone in her palm and a smirk pulled on her lips.
There were already several cars parked at the entrance of the school and she knew for sure that those cars were there to pick up the kids. But there was one special car she was waiting for to arrive.
The bell rang, and after a few minutes, the parents went to pick up the children while the ones who followed the school bus went and drove off.
After waiting for a few more minutes, Felicia smirked when she finally caught the car she was waiting for.
Erika got out of the car and went inside the school to pick up the boys.
"Mummy!" Luca called, jumping on Erika’s body. freeweɓnovel.cøm
"How was school, boys?" She asked them, holding John’s hand while Jake smiled at her.
"It was great, mummy," Jake replied.
"You know you can walk right? You don’t need mummy to carry you all the time," John said to Luca, side-eyeing the latter.
"I’m the youngest among you two, I should be spoiled," Luca retorted before nestling in Erika’s neck.
John huffed a mouthful of air before he shook his head exasperatedly.
They all walked towards the car before Erika opened the door for them and they got in.
Suddenly, Erika got a phone call on her phone. She motioned for the boys to keep quiet so that she could listen. She checked the number and realized it was unsaved.
After what had been happening around them, she was always careful to answer ordinary numbers. But she had a hint of who was calling.
"Hello?" She said.
"Erika."
A smile graced Erika’s lips since she was mistaken when she guessed who was calling her.
"You finally dared to call, huh? I thought you might need a few more days. Where are you?" She questioned.
"Oh, I’m close by. I can see you right now."
