Chapter 394: BRIBED THE WARDEN?
Felicia glared at Juliet. She knew that what Juliet said made sense but she couldn’t think of any other way to try to get Juliet into coming along with her.
"What now? The cat caught your tongue?" Juliet asked, seeing that Felicia had gone speechless.
Felicia turned back to look at the camera and spotted the warden still on her way heading towards the building they were in.
Out of frustration, Felicia grabbed her hair as she tried to think of a way out.
She had thought that this was the moment she had been waiting for. The moment when she would escape the prison and go search for Erika to make her life a living hell as she’d planned.
But Juliet had to come in there and make things difficult for her. Judging from Juliet’s calm face, she didn’t seem to be too bothered taking a punishment for entering the main building. And if she blurts out that Felicia was the one who had the key to the building, the latter’s sentence would only be prolonged.
"What do you want?" Felicia managed to ask. She didn’t have much time since the warden would be there in no time.
"I want you to get caught," Juliet replied, folding her arms.
Felicia snorted before she charged at Juliet, catching the latter off guard.
Felicia pushed Juliet out of the way and headed towards the door.
Juliet quickly stood up and ran after Felicia. Grabbing her feet, she yanked Felicia down on the floor and the both of them battled against each other.
"Did you think that you would be able to leave this place and cause trouble in Erika’s life when I’m right here to stop you?" Juliet questioned as she caught Felicia’s fingers and twisted them at an odd angle.
Felicia resisted the urge to yell but swallowed the pain.
Juliet didn’t stop there. She bit Felicia on the stomach while she clawed her face with her nails. freeweɓnovel.cøm
And this time, Felicia couldn’t swallow the pain and yelped.
Felicia raised her leg, kicking Juliet in the stomach hard which caused the latter to loosen her grip on Felicia.
Finally getting her chance, Felicia removed Juliet’s limps that wrapped around her, keeping her in place, and headed for the door.
"You think you have a chance against me?" Felicia questioned with a sly smirk on her lips as she ran towards the door.
When she was about to hold the handle and make her escape, Felicia felt her head being dragged back. The grip was so tightly and it seemed her brain was about to get pulled out of her head.
"You are not leaving here until the warden comes," Juliet said and yanked Felicia back. She landed on the ground with a thud and Juliet walked out of the door and closed it behind her.
Scanning her eyes around, Juliet tried to find any silhouette of the warden and when she saw the warden about to get to the gate, Juliet quickly went to the opposite side.
She watched as the warden frowned when she saw that the gate was already opened.
Taking out her banton cautiously, she headed towards the door of the building. freeweɓnovel.cøm
Getting her chance, Juliet escaped and headed to her cell room. She could have waited for the warden’s reaction when she saw Felicia. But she needed to be in her cell room in case they raised an alert.
Juliet sneaked past the cameras just as she did when she was following Felicia and sneaked inside the cell room.
Juliet waited for the alert to resound in the prison but she didn’t hear anything.
Juliet waited for an hour more but still, she didn’t hear the alert sound.
Frowning, she got up from her bed and resisted the urge to walk out of her cell room to see what was happening.
"Was Felicia able to escape before the warden caught her?" She mumbled to herself.
Juliet continued to wait until she fell asleep.
Waking up, Juliet asked her mother.
"Did Felicia come back to her cell room last night?"
Mary looked at Juliet in confusion before she asked. "What do you mean by ’come back’? Did she leave her room before?"
Now it was Juliet who was staring at Mary in confusion.
"Felicia is right there," Mary pointed at Felicia who was talking with some of the inmates, and a heavy frown formed on Juliet’s face.
’How is she back? Didn’t the warden catch her in that office?’ She wondered.
"What are you thinking about?" Mary asked as she shook Juliet out of her thoughts.
Juliet didn’t reply immediately as she tried to understand what was happening.
Juliet scanned Felicia’s face and she couldn’t find any kind of bruises on her face. Her face was still the way it was, not a single odd thing on it.
"Felicia tried to escape last night, I caught her but then—-." Juliet fed her mom in on everything that happened last night and instantly, Mary’s eyes went to Felicia as she stared at her in shock.
"She tried to escape last night?" Mary questioned Juliet to be sure she heard exactly what she thought she heard. "But what about the warden? Didn’t she see Felicia in the building?" She asked.
"I don’t know mum. I didn’t wait to see if the warden entered the office but I’m sure she would have since the gate was already opened. I don’t see any possible way she didn’t see Felicia in there unless she somehow managed to turn invisible," Juliet mumbled as she glared at Felicia.
Felicia seemed to have sensed that someone was glaring at her and she turned to face Juliet.
"She must have done something, I’m sure of it," Juliet said to her mother, Mary as she continued to glare at Felicia who was smiling at her instead.
"What do you think she did? Do you think she was able to bribe the warden?" Mary asked.
Juliet tore her eyes from Felicia and stared at her mother.
"That’s not possible, right?"
