Chapter 1143: Chapter 1143: Avoidance and Alienation
Knowing Wayne Archer’s feelings, Janelle Tollman couldn’t help but feel a little guilty.
She pursed her lips and explained, "...he is the child’s father."
Hearing this, Wayne Archer wasn’t too surprised, after all, Chase looks a lot like Arthur Sutton.
"So have you decided to marry him?" Wayne Archer said with some concern, "Janelle, I will respect your decision, but I hope you can think it through, spend more time to understand what kind of person he really is before making a decision, at least figure all this out, don’t accept him just because he is the child’s biological father and end up wronging yourself."
Janelle Tollman nodded, "Hmm, I will make a good choice. Besides, I still think that all these matters should wait until I remember the past, for now, I just want the children to spend more time with their father, my personal emotional issues can wait."
Hearing this, Wayne Archer felt a bit relieved. He had been worried that Janelle would blindly rush into forming a family with Arthur Sutton just because he was the child’s father.
Although he was well aware of the Suttons’ power, he was reluctant to hand Janelle over.
"If you find him suitable, I will sincerely bless you both; but if he isn’t right, please don’t forget me, there will always be a place for you by my side."
"Brother Archer..."
Wayne Archer smiled and said, "You don’t need to feel any pressure; this is my own choice. As long as you’re happy, you can decide whatever you like."
Janelle, naturally moved, felt more guilt than anything.
She felt that even without Arthur Sutton in the picture, she feared that she and Wayne Archer would not develop into a romantic relationship.
They were indeed very familiar with each other, but it was precisely because of this familiarity that she couldn’t change this feeling into love.
She hoped their relationship would always remain as friends, yet Wayne Archer’s feelings made her realize this affection wouldn’t last.
This made Janelle instinctively want to avoid and distance herself, after all, she felt she couldn’t give Wayne Archer the answer he wanted.
Wayne Archer’s persistence only made her feel indebted, even though he assured her she shouldn’t have any mental burden.
After finishing her tasks, Janelle went downstairs and saw Arthur Sutton accompanying the children with their homework.
When it comes to finishing homework, Chase has always been pretty conscientious, but Noah tends to dawdle.
Yet, with Arthur Sutton accompanying them, Noah seemed quite eager and serious.
Arthur Sutton also held Noah’s hand, teaching her how to write numbers and her name stroke by stroke.
Seeing this scene, Janelle Tollman felt deeply moved.
The appearance of the "father" role not only changes the children’s growth and childhood but also alters her inner thoughts.
"Let’s finish writing at home tonight, let’s go eat first," Janelle walked over and said softly.
Noah pointed at the scribbly words on the notebook, proudly showing Janelle, "Mommy, look, I can write my name now."
"Really?"
"This one was taught by Uncle Sutton, and this one I wrote myself."
"Noah is awesome, how about a reward of an extra chicken wing tonight?"
"Yay!"
Arthur Sutton smiled indulgently and put away the children’s homework and stationery on the table.
Janelle reached out to take the backpack from his hands, smiling lightly, "Let me, you go start the car."
"Okay."
When Janelle walked to the roadside with the children, Arthur Sutton’s car pulled up right at the entrance.
She opened the car door with the intention to sit in the back with the two children, only to find that two child safety seats had already been installed in the back seat.
This small gesture, it must be said, added many points in Arthur Sutton’s favor in Janelle’s heart.
After settling the children in their seats, Janelle turned and sat in the front passenger seat.
