Chapter 93: The Void Beasts Strike Back Pt. 1
Mary Jane’s Templars all looked just as baffled as her. Then the Captain of her guard, Simon, said to his mistress.
"Of course, you are the most beautiful woman to ever walk the world of Eryndor, my lady. How can a mirror properly capture your beauty? I’m sure the image on the other side of that mirror was just jealous of your beauty, so she broke it to spite you."
Simon was just talking out of his ass, but luckily for him, their saintess is rather dumb when it comes to things like this.
Mary Jane nodded her head. That made sense to her. That image of herself in the mirror must have been jealous of her and decided to break the mirror out of spite.
Fate, hearing this explanation, looked at Ruby with a smile on his face as she handed him a platinum crown.
While Mary Jane was distracted by the shiny mirror, Fate bet with Ruby that somehow Mary Jane would convince herself that she is still the most beautiful woman ever. Ruby thought too highly of this woman and lost the bet.
With a smile on his face, Fate quickly hid his new ill-gotten gains from Ruby. It is not often that he manages to win a bet against his wives. But today, Mary Jane helped him win a blow against his harem, which is a victory for men everywhere.
Looking at the still-wet Mary Jane and smiling, he said to her.
"Why are you really here, Mary Jane Dawson? It can’t be to simply get me to go on a walk with you, right? If you think for one second that I have any romantic interest in whatever you really are, you can forget about it. I’m spoken for by two women who would kill you where you stand if they actually thought I had any interest in you."
Mary Jane looked at the ugly Ruby Valentine in front of her and sneered, saying to Fate.
"Fate Grimsever, even if I was romantically interested in you, it would be the honor of your life to date a woman worshiped by billions of people worldwide."
Ruby decided to say something at this moment. After all, she could already see what kind of people would worship this woman—you can tell simply by looking at her guards.
"Mary Jane Dawson, I am Ruby Valentine, and I must say that you have failed to meet my expectations twice since you came into our home. Not only are you a stupid woman easily placated by a compliment, but you are also someone stupid enough to rely on the strength of others rather than your own." frёewebηovel.cѳm
Mary Jane’s beard jumped up into the air in shock at these insults. How can Ruby say these things to her when Mary Jane was able to heal her own guards from their serious injuries just minutes ago?
Mary Jane stood up to her full height as she tried to show her delicate curves to attract Fate’s attention. Then she said to Ruby.
"Ruby Valentine, you are wrong. Not only am I the blessed messenger of the divine and beautiful goddess Vespera, but I have personally helped to put an end to several rebellions within my own church after we were unfortunately required to replace the last saintess after her death. In recognition of my aid to the church, Pope Bark Beetle personally appointed me as the saintess, and together with the goddess’s divine blessings, we eliminated any of the remaining forces of the last saintess faction that remained within the church."
Fate grew shocked at this statement. What the hell does Mary Jane mean they killed everyone that belonged to Amara’s faction?
The truth is that they all died from being scared by the sight of seeing Mary Jane Dawson without the blanket she currently called a robe that covered her body.
Some things are so horrid that words cannot describe the sights and sounds that we hear, and seeing Mary Jane Dawson without clothing is one of them.
Ruby heard these words and sneered as she said to Mary Jane.
"Stupid saintess, I don’t care about the accomplishments of you or your stupid church. Mary Jane Dawson, you are lucky to even stand in my husband’s presence today. If you continue to be so flirtatious and disrespectful to me and Fate, then I will kill you here and now. Don’t think for a second that some third-rate goddess will save you from me. If Vespera had the guts to stand in front of me herself, she would grovel at my feet for me to spare her life."
Hearing this, Fate had to admit that Ruby’s words are indeed justified. In the grand scheme of things, the lesser goddess Vespera’s power is nothing compared to Ruby at her full power. But the question remains, is she that powerful now?
If Ruby has already unlocked a fraction of her power this early in the story of Blissful Paradise, then she indeed has nothing to fear from Vespera. If anything, it’s the other creatures out there that should concern Ruby.
Mary Jane began to tremble in fear, but not for long as Ruby decided to give this bitch a harsh reality slap.
With a swift movement, Ruby grabbed Mary Jane by her ear and pulled hard. Mary Jane cried out.
"Ow, ow, what are you doing?"
Ruby sneered, and pulling Mary Jane’s ear, she led the girl towards the entrance of Shadow Spire Citadel.
Mary Jane Dawson’s Templar guards moved to intercept her, but one look at the eyes of the killer in front of them and these men lost the will to fight. They did not get paid enough to get beaten up twice in the same day.
Ruby, with Fate following behind her, left the giant entrance of the citadel. They stopped on the drawbridge over the green moat that silently guards Shadow Spire Citadel and will be used by Ruby soon in this world’s first introduction of biological warfare—something she learned from her sleep-talking husband.
Mary Jane, still being held by her ear, said to Ruby.
"What are you going to do, Ruby Valentine? Don’t go too far or Fate will suffer the consequences."
Ruby sneered hearing this, so she simply said to Mary Jane.
"Mary Jane, you little bitch, let me give you a little reality check so that you know your place the next time you stand in front of my husband."
While Ruby was busy dealing with Mary Jane, Fate saw several shadows moving in the shadows of the citadel and the surrounding buildings. Fate frowned. He recognized these creatures, but why the hell are they showing up so early in the story? fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
That’s right, Fate saw that these creatures are the infamous Void Beasts. Fate wondered who the hell had the balls to work with these creatures. Several of them snuck up on Ruby, getting ready to stab her in the back.
