Chapter 48: The Cult Gathers

While Nimrod made plans within plans to deal with Fate, along with the church joining in on the fun, Bishop Gary Oldman had already come up with a second solid gold roof for his church. It was replaced in only two days’ time due to the generous donations of the traitorous nobles who were supposed to be serving Fate.

In a deep and growing underground world now so massive that a city was beginning to form inside it, we could see thousands of members of Phoenix Rising worshipping a giant statue of Fate Grimsever that stood hundreds of feet tall. It was made with many of the most valuable treasures ever seen on the continent of Vale. freēwebnovel.com

Sitting on an altar in front of this giant statue of their god, the Phoenix Lord, were two women who were discussing matters related to Phoenix Rising with their various subordinates within the cult.

Amara looked at the other seats around her and Ruby and smiled. Someday all of them would be filled with her fellow sisters, the ones that this world cursed and abandoned, just like her own god and church betrayed her and cast her out. They did this because Amara dared to be a follower of Vespera with her own opinions about prioritizing the care of the poor and needy over the wealthy and nobles.

Now Amara could not help but laugh as she and Ruby were using the very people that this world despises to infect every corner of it with their belief in her husband Fate Grimsever, whom their fellow believers called the Phoenix Lord. With the spread of their doctrine about how the filth and abominations called nobles and clergy inhabit this land and stifle the advancement of their god, Amara’s sisters who have not arrived yet, some of them nobles and royalty, were sisters in suffering with Ruby and Amara.

Amara smiled at the thought of these voluptuous and tempting women joining her master. Amara could not wait to brag to them about how she was the second sister to find Fate after Ruby; they would all want to murder her, not that they could even hurt her now, even if they tried. Amara, like Ruby, had become immortal and would heal instantly from even the most lethal of wounds; even losing her head would not kill her. This was a theory that Amara and Ruby had tested on each other extensively, with no clear winner for the next person to make their husband supper ever being determined. So now Amara and Ruby had daily fights to the death to determine who gets more benefits when it comes to Fate. The members of Phoenix Rising saw this as only natural, as gods like them should fight over the right to see who gets to please their god, the Phoenix Lord.

Amara was greatly pleased with the legion of undead that Ruby had created so far. As a necromancer, she took over command of the Undead Legion and incorporated them into her own forces along with the dark paladins, all of whom were master necromancers themselves.

Looking at Ruby, who ran most of the day-to-day administrative affairs of Phoenix Rising and Fate’s territory, Amara said, "Did you send the letters to our other sisters saying that they should come to gather around our new husband?"

Ruby heard Amara’s question and responded, saying, "Yes, I’ve heard back from a few who plan to make the trip to Valoria in the next few months. As for some of our more reclusive sisters, they have received my letters, I’m sure, but they have mostly remained silent. If I had to guess, they are probably busy with other tasks at the moment. We all made a vow that day: if any of us could find the man who could lift the curse placed on us all, that we would serve him with all of our hearts."

Amara frowned at Ruby bringing up the curse placed on them. Then she said to Ruby, "Ruby, did you tell Fate about our past and the fact that associating with us will make him the enemy of the entire world?"

Hearing this, Ruby could not help but laugh. "Ha Ha!"

When Ruby was done laughing, she responded to Amara, "Amara, I think you have just as good of a grasp on our husband as I do by now. You have been here for a few days already. Fate does as he pleases and cares little about the consequences. How can he not, after breaking the various curses that tormented us? Proof of this can be seen with the fact that someone seems to try to murder Fate on an almost daily basis."

What Ruby and Amara did not know was that Fate was the lynchpin of the entire world of Blissful Paradise. As a result, every major power was out to kill him simply because he must not exist. It could be called the will of the world wishing for Fate to die, and as a result, people were influenced to seek Fate out and try to kill him.

Fate had no idea of the curses that plagued the various MILF villainess bosses he had set his sights on as harem members. He simply wanted them all because of their beauty, capabilities, and power. It helped that Fate was most likely insane himself, so he matched with his harem well.

Author’s Note: Truck-kun drove Fate insane and then drove over him; this is a literal fact.

After thinking about Ruby’s words, Amara nodded her head in agreement, responding to Ruby, "I have to agree, he is a very reckless master, placing himself at risk like this to help us. But at least he is a good husband. As for this cult, Ruby, you have done a good job with raising an army of undead for our usage. They used to be susceptible to the holy magic of the church."

Then, with an insane laugh, Amara continued, saying, "Ha Ha Ha! Ruby, that’s not the case anymore! Since the curse of that demon Damon has been lifted from me, now I can access my holy magic and fuse it with my dark paladins. That means that the undead we control will become immune to Holy Magic. I can’t wait to see the Holy Kingdom of Xeon burn to the ground after they see someone they raised with their own hands and betrayed, has come back with an army of the unholy to destroy them all."

"Ha Ha Ha!"

Ruby nodded at this statement, then added her own in a bit more reserved tone, "I will also have my revenge against Samuel Bloodsworn. With the forces that I’m gathering, his golden knights can do nothing to stop me from wiping the capital city of Westend off the face the map."
