Chapter 29: Assidous Syndrome

Looking at Kathy Primrose standing in front of him, Fate said to her,

"Why should I care about greeting you, Kathy? You’re just a spoiled little girl who uses her position to bully others."

This statement caused Kathy to shake in anger like a little spring. Then Kathy said to Fate with gritted teeth as she pointed at him,

"Fate Grimsever, you dare to talk back to me! My mother could have your head in a moment if she wanted to. Just because she does not show herself in public does not mean my mother, Catherine Primrose, is any less dangerous."

When Ruby heard the name of Catherine Primrose, her eyes sparkled. This was one of her old friends who also disfigured herself rather than be defiled by the king. Kathy is only Catherine’s stepdaughter. As for her father, he mysteriously disappeared a few days after their marriage, never to be seen again. Ruby knew the man was long dead. While her sister Catherine secured a young stepdaughter and the title of Grand Duchess. Or as she is known in certain circles, the Bloody Duchess of the Northern Frontier.

Catherine Primrose is one of the most attractive women who has ever seen in the world of Vale.

Looking at Kathy Primrose in front of him, Fate put on an arrogant smile and said to Kathy,

"Kathy, you dare to talk to me like that in my territory? Arrogant little girls should be careful what they wish for, or I might just send you home in a box, or better yet, in pieces."

Fate felt that his threat was well delivered. After he saw that Kathy was shaking in fear from his presence, Fate thought it was weird how everyone who tries to talk to him and is not a complete idiot seems to fear him.

Fate figured that Nimrod must be a colossal idiot not to fear him, a syndrome that Nimrod’s subordinates seem to share. Fate has taken to dubbing this unique condition "Assidous Syndrome" because Nimrod, the heroines, and his flunkies are all assholes.

Kathy, still shaking in fear of his threat, slowly backed away from him and Ruby. She did not even manage to see the shoe-sized rock that "mysteriously" appeared behind her, just like the mud pit behind that.

"Ahh!"

"Splat!"

"No, my one-of-a-kind priceless dress!"

As Kathy fell into the conveniently placed mud pit, the mud covered Kathy’s dress, soaking through it only to reveal her nonexistent washboard chest. Ruby’s eyes rolled at the statement that Kathy’s dress was one of a kind. Her friend Catherine would never give a dime to this daughter of hers.

Fate was wondering why it seems that all of the heroines in Blissful Paradise seem to be as flat as an airport runway, while all of the MILFs’ chests are made of legendary proportions.

Fate ignored the muddy Kathy and looked at Ruby, then he took her hand in his, saying,

"Kathy, why would I have any interest in a little girl like you when I can have a mature and sexy woman like your mother by my side?"

When Kathy heard these words about her mother, her mouth fell open and almost hit the ground.

Kathy jumped out of the mud pit and onto the normal paved academy grounds. Then she said to Fate while pointing her finger at him,

"You lecherous pig! How dare you say such things about my mother, the Grand Duchess of the Northern Frontier? She could have your head for such an insult."

Fate proceeded to provoke Kathy even more, responding,

"Kathy, there is no need to be jealous of your mother. I’m sure she gives great head, unlike a little girl like you."

After Fate mentioned getting head from Kathy’s mother, Kathy’s face began to turn green with anger and embarrassment. She then turned around and ran off as fast as her little feet would carry her.

Fate called after the fleeing Kathy, saying,

"Kathy, wait! You have not even heard my best lines yet. Oh well, don’t step on a crack, or I may just break your mother’s back."

Ruby, holding Fate’s hand, said to Kathy,

"With his ten-foot pole!"

Hearing this, the fleeing Kathy fell face-first into another conveniently placed mud pit.

*Splat*

Kathy crawled out of this mud pit and turned around, walking back to stand in front of Fate and Ruby. Kathy decided that she could not flee in the face of such insults to her mother. Kathy may not like her mother, and she is even secretly scheming to take her position of Grand Duchess for herself. But after hearing about her stepmother giving her fiancé head, Kathy knew she had to say something.

So, standing in her dirty one-of-a-kind designer dress, Kathy pointed at Fate and said,

"Fate, you can insult me, but don’t you dare insult the glory of the Primrose Grand Duchess. My mother is so powerful that with one word, she could have the king take your head from your shoulders."

Fate rolled his eyes at this statement, then responded callously,

"I highly doubt that your mother would ever do anything for King Samuel Bloodsworn. She is more likely to take his head than mine. Besides, if you can actually find someone who is foolish enough to come after my life, then I pity them. Just ask Ruby what happened to the person who tried to kill me this morning. It did not end well for any of them."

Ruby nodded in agreement, then turned to Kathy and said,

"It’s true. I whipped him good just like the cook. But unlike the cook, he was not lucky enough to have the necessary skills for me to spare his life." ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

Fate nodded, adding to Kathy,

"That’s right. You heard Ruby. Kathy, that assassin suffered a pleasant and painless death."

This was yet another instance of Fate believing that ignorance is bliss. The less he knew about Ruby’s actions outside of their bedroom, the better. It afforded him some plausible deniability.

Not that Fate needed it; he simply enjoyed letting his women deal with all of his problems—that’s the true scumbag villainous way to do things.

Kathy, hearing Fate’s obvious gloating about torturing someone and his blatant excuse about plausible deniability, turned around and once again ran away. She was determined to find Prince Nimrod Bloodsworn and report this scandalous information to him. Prisoners have rights and deserve a trial.

Kathy was mainly upset that this attempt on Fate’s life had failed.
