Chapter 103: Operation Double Trouble Pt. 4

Carl knelt down on one knee as he said to Ruby,

"Fire Mother, it was only due to your genius planning that I was able to become Prince Nimrod’s steward. Then, with your intervention, I got punished by Nimrod when he sent me to the kitchens, allowing me to poison all of the food just as you asked. We have already eliminated all the eyes on this meal, just as you wanted."

Amara then looked at the priest, who stood respectfully in the corner. She smiled and said to him,

"It’s good to see that my hidden faction within the church has remained undetected by the Pope—not that they ever would have known about any of my sleeper agents. Even you did not know that you served me until I released your magical memory seals. What better spy is there than someone who doesn’t even know he is a spy?"

The priest knelt on the ground and worshiped Amara with a fervent look in his eyes. He said to her, fгeewebnovёl.com

"My lady, if I and the other sleepers in the church knew that you were actually alive, we would not hesitate to wash the walls of the Holy Kingdom of Xeon red with the blood of the usurpers who caused you to be cursed by that demon. The Pope and that false goddess were behind this attack on you, but I’m sure you’re aware of the conspiracies that surround you and your group of sisters. The ones that the church and powerful organizations call the Sisters of Sorrow—a group of powerful women who are destined to destroy the world, only to be stopped by the hero Nimrod Bloodsworn and usher in an era of unprecedented oppressive rule for the elite in power."

Amara and Ruby both nodded at this statement. Amara sneered and said,

"I’m well aware of those fools’ plans. They wish to consume this world in a massive conflict and, through it, slay the majority of the poor and homeless. When it’s all over, there will be little the commoners can do to challenge the power of the ruling class."

Ruby suddenly smiled as she looked at all of the gathered nobles.

"Count Victor Dupont, I’m sure you’ve heard all of these words, so you’ve probably figured out our identities by now."

Count Victor Dupont took a deep breath and said to Ruby,

"Ruby Valentine—the bitch that once served King Bloodsworn. What is it you’re trying to do by bringing up the old prophecies? It is the right of the strong to conquer the weak. So what if our king wishes to eliminate most of the filth on the streets? They eat up our resources and coin. It’s only right that both the church and the kingdoms of Vale cull their numbers every few centuries. This is a noble tradition that goes back thousands of years. If we ever wish to progress as a society, we must be willing to sacrifice the needs of the many for the rights of the elite few."

Amara walked over to Count Victor Dupont and raised her hand.

*Slap*

*Crash*

The count was sent flying ten feet into the air and crashed into the wall behind him.

Ruby smiled as she said to him,

"Well, the common people will certainly begin to question their rulers when they hear your little speech from my magical recording stone. The king and church are going to be far too busy dealing with the fallout of all of your deaths to notice the disappearance of the poor and homeless as they join my armies. Already, my forces have begun to spread beyond the Southern Hampshire Plains and into the rest of the Kingdom of Westridge. By the time anyone realizes that something is wrong with the very people they wish to kill, it will be too late—not only for this kingdom, but for the world as well."

Count Victor Dupont spat some blood from his mouth as he crawled up from the ground. He said with a frown to Ruby,

"Ha ha, you want to use our deaths to distract the king and the church. Ruby, you will never get away with this plot. The king and the Pope will see through it, and don’t think for a second that Nimrod will be fooled either. He is the genius son of the king, and he will bring about the next era of elite supremacy even after our deaths."

Some of the other nobles still at the table began to look even worse from the poison. With an evil look on her face, Ruby turned to Count Victor Dupont and said something that scared him to death.

"Well then, perhaps I should inform you that all of the Sisters of Sorrow are still very much alive and will soon gather here in Valoria with our destined husband, the curse breaker Fate Grimsever. Among those coming is Gloria Pasternack, the Demon Lord of Calamity. We have already subjugated a hell dimension full of devils for her to use. Soon, she will kill that usurper you humans placed on her throne. Then she and the rest of us will drown this world in the blood of you useless fools. The very sheep you like to cull so much will become the wolves that tear the throats of their masters out. The blood and death to come will be so beautiful, Count Victor Dupont, and you can thank yourself for helping to get the party started."

By now, the other nobles began to puke blood from their mouths as they fell face-down in their food, dead. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm

Count Victor Dupont was barely holding onto life as he looked at Ruby and said,

"Ruby, you would dare to bring the Demon Lord back? You are the true devil here. Ruby, you will destroy this world."

Then Count Victor Dupont fell to the ground, dead.

Ruby smiled as she took Amara’s hand, and together they looked at the night sky.

Ruby looked at Amara and asked her,

"Amara, do you think he was right? Am I really the devil who will destroy this world?"

Amara smiled and said to Ruby,

"Ruby, of course you are a devil. And so what if we destroy the world? What we are building for Fate is the only world that should ever exist. Ruby, can you hear the singing in the wind? It’s the sound of human suffering. My undead must be having a feast, thanks to the Count’s soldiers. They will make capable cannon fodder for future battles."

Ruby sighed in contentment as she said to Amara,

"Amara, your utter lack of care for human life is so wonderful. I’m sure this quality is one of the things Fate loves best about you."

In the background, Carl and the unnamed priest were busy arranging the scene of the Count’s last supper so that the appropriate parties would soon be at each other’s throats. The king and nobles would blame the church, while the church blamed the prince and, by extension, the king.

Both Ruby and Amara were sure that Mary Jane would still continue to follow the prince around, just like those other girls. After all, the new saintess is a very stupid woman.
