Chapter 102: Operation Double Trouble Pt. 3

Nimrod looked at Fate for the first time with a serious expression and said, "You let your entire territory be managed by two women that the royal court knows nothing about. Is this true, Fate?"

Fate looked at Nimrod as if he were an idiot and said to him, "Of course I let them handle my affairs for me. Why else would I go through the trouble of making them mine? I lack capable help and I’m inherently lazy, so Ruby and Amara are my solution to this lifelong problem. After all, anyone with enough wealth like me knows that the best thing to do is sit back and relax and delegate your responsibilities to your family, or in my case, my two incredibly beautiful and unstable wives who I trust with my life."

What Fate did not say was that he could not die anyway, so what did he care if Ruby and Amara burned his territory to the ground? They were immortal as well, so it’s not a problem to grab his wealth and set up a home somewhere else.

Count Victor Dupont stood up and looked at Ruby and Amara. "Even if you two are in charge of this territory, it will still not change the outcome of today’s events."

Fate looked at Count Victor Dupont and said, "I don’t know what nonsense you are talking about, Victor, but you’re not looking so good all of a sudden."

At this point, the other nobles present noticed that they were not feeling well. All of their faces began to turn red as they looked at Fate with suspicion.

One of the nobles present looked at Fate and saw that he looked fine, so he said, "Fate Grimsever, what did you do to our food?"

Fate was dumbfounded by this question and said, "What the hell are you talking about? The food you eat is all provided by the prince. When would I even have the chance to do anything to it? Besides, I am enjoying my own food. That food the prince made tastes like shit."

Count Victor Dupont saw that Fate did indeed eat Prince Nimrod’s food in the beginning but switched to his own later on. Looking at the prince with a look of anger on his face as his body continued to feel worse, Victor said, "Prince Nimrod, what is the meaning of this? Why is your food making us all feel sick? More importantly, how come you and your three guests appear to be fine right now?"

Nimrod sneered and said to Count Victor, "I don’t have to explain anything to you, old man. Perhaps you simply can’t stand the superior quality of the food prepared in my royal kitchen. Or perhaps it was that nasty water we had for our blessing from the church earlier."

When Mary Jane Dawson heard this, she looked at the prince and said with absolute certainty, "That is naturally impossible, Prince Nimrod. The only water that was poisoned was the three glasses that Fate and his wives drank. The church is very professional when it comes to how we kill people. A mistake like this does not happen often. But if it does, I’m trained to be immune to the church’s poison."

Fate heard this and looked at Ruby with a questioning look. He wondered since when did poison work on him? They had tried that already, and it did not work at all on someone who was immortal.

The priest who administered the poison began to look nervous as he said to everyone present, "I assure everyone present that I carried out my duties perfectly. The only three people poisoned are Fate Grimsever and his two female companions."

Hearing this, Fate threw his napkin down on the table and got up from his seat. "All of you are idiots. As if poison would work on me a second time. Just ask Kathy; she already tried it with Nimrod’s help. All she ended up doing was running away in terror after I got my revenge on her. Now all of you have soured my hopes for peace between us. You have all tried to kill me how many times now and failed. Let me just say that if there is a next time, none of you will leave here alive."

Then Fate left the dining hall in anger. He was beginning to regret his pacifist attitude. Perhaps he needed to take action against the fools in this kingdom. But that would require him to do more work.

No, Fate shook his head in determination. He brought Ruby and Amara into his harem for a reason: to deal with things like this for him. Fate was sure that Ruby would find a way to make everyone leave that meeting in peace and contentment.

Ruby smiled as she saw Fate leave the dining hall. Now the true fun could begin. She made a motion to Amara, who signaled a nearby guard. freёwebnoѵel.com

A side door of the hall burst open, and in ran former Steward Carl. He looked at Nimrod and yelled, "Prince Nimrod, don’t eat that food! The kitchen accidentally messed up the poison you gave us and put it into everyone’s food instead of only Fate’s food." freёwebnovel.com

Nimrod jumped up in fright and said to Carl, "Dishwasher Carl, what the hell are you talking about? I did not give you any poison to put in this food."

Count Victor Dupont looked at both Nimrod and Mary Jane and said, "So both the church and the royal family poisoned us. Nimrod and Mary Jane, you won’t get away with this. My agents have already made sure that even if we die here today because of your greed for this territory, everyone from the common people to the other nobles will know that you killed us here today."

Nimrod trembled in anger as he got up and ran out of the meal. He had to stop the spread of this news from reaching his family or he would be in serious trouble.

Mary Jane ran off to make sure Bishop Gary Oldman could stop the news of this event from affecting the church.

Kathy and Maria followed Nimrod to make sure he paid for a doctor for them. They were too beautiful to die from poison.

When the room was empty of all the various important people, suddenly Count Victor Dupont saw the necks of his guards being shaped by hands that reached out from the shadows. Then he heard a frightening noise:

*Bam*

*Bang*

*Boom*

All of the doors and windows in the hall were closed as a small army of attractive female guards entered the room.

Ruby looked at Dishwasher Carl and smiled as she said to him, "Carl, you have proven yourself to Phoenix Rising as a valuable investment. It was worth our efforts to place you at the prince’s side. You did a good job this time."
