Chapter 430: Chapter 432: The Undercover Agent
Just then, Su Nian calmly pulled on her gloves and walked to the front, her face an icy mask.
She grabbed the head of the Mirror Ghost as it tried to crawl out. The other ghosts immediately heard it let out a blood-curdling shriek.
At the same time, Su Nian picked up a shard of glass and slashed it across the Mirror Ghost’s body. She tore away a large chunk of its pitch-black skin, revealing the mangled flesh beneath.
Su Nian merely smiled, then picked up another piece of the mirror.
The ghost was starting to panic. It was the Heavenly Dao’s hidden ace, left here to spy on all the other ghosts.
From the moment Su Nian first appeared, it had sensed something was off about her, but it couldn’t contact the Heavenly Dao. Its original plan was to team up with the other ghosts and kill her.
Instead, it could only watch as those useless fools were subdued by this woman, one by one.
So it had no choice but to lie low. Then, just moments ago, it thought it had found an opening. ’If I can finish her with just a single shard of glass, it’ll prove how powerful I am.’ But who would have thought this bitch would see through everything?
The gentler Su Nian’s smile became, the more wretched the Mirror Ghost’s condition grew.
With her gloves on, Su Nian no longer showed any trace of disgust. She just pressed the glass shard down hard and dragged it across the Mirror Ghost’s body.
Slash after slash, she carved new wounds into its dark skin. The other ghosts all took a collective step back, watching with a mixture of shock and terror as Su Nian sliced the Mirror Ghost to ribbons.
They had never seen someone so utterly unhinged. They even suspected Su Nian was psychotic enough to kill herself.
’My god, she’s a true demoness!’
They even started to think getting captured by her earlier had been a blessing. At least they weren’t suffering *this* horribly.
Even the gecko ghost, who had just been beaten to a pulp by Su Nian, couldn’t help but gulp. ’She’s in a league of her own!’
’I might be in bad shape, but how could I possibly compare to that?’
The old woman ghost clicked her tongue repeatedly and backed away. "This is too frightening. I can’t watch something so gruesome."
The ghost in the suit didn’t have the energy to call her out. ’You were the one watching the most intently just a second ago!’
After yanking the entire ghost out, Su Nian threw it to the floor. She walked over and gave it a couple of kicks.
Perhaps from having killed so many ghosts, Su Nian wasn’t afraid in the slightest. She didn’t even feel anything.
Her eyes were fixed on it, giving the Mirror Ghost a strange, bone-chilling sensation. Then again, what Su Nian was doing was perverse enough on its own.
What normal person would do this—reduce it to this state with just a shard of glass? The Mirror Ghost’s previously eerie and terrifying expression was now twisted in agony.
The ghost curled up like a shrimp, pathetically clutching its head. Su Nian, however, simply stood before it, still holding the glass shard with a placid, smiling expression. Her smile grew ever gentler.
The Mirror Ghost, however, only trembled more violently. The extreme pain and its complete change in demeanor made it look almost comically pathetic.
Su Nian scoffed but said nothing.
She dragged the ghosts into the cabin’s living room and tossed them onto the floor. Crossing her legs, she sat down in a large chair and spoke coldly, "All right, talk. How did each of you end up here?"
At first, Su Nian had thought that she just needed to gather all these ghosts to leave this godforsaken place.
But she hadn’t expected that even after torturing the ghosts into such a pitiful state, the Heavenly Dao still hadn’t shown itself.
’Is there some hidden reason for this?’
As this thought crossed her mind, Su Nian extended an index finger and casually pointed at the Mirror Ghost on the floor.
"I don’t want to waste any more time. Tell me everything, right now. Anyone who can’t speak clearly ends up like it."
Her words sent a collective shiver through the ghosts present.
’End up like it...’
’Sliced to ribbons with a piece of glass?’
Given what Su Nian had just done, that wasn’t an exaggeration.
They might be dead, but they could still feel pain. And they were terrified of it!
The Mirror Ghost struggled, muffled curses escaping its lips. Its eyes burned with venomous hatred, as if it regretted its earlier carelessness and now wanted to devour Su Nian whole.
Su Nian simply smiled, ignoring it. Her gaze swept over the other ghosts, who all kept their mouths shut, none daring to speak.
Seeing that no one was talking, Su Nian’s slender fingers picked up a relatively intact shard of glass.
Su Nian had beautiful fingers. The way she examined the glass shard made it look like a precious gem—crystal clear, impossibly beautiful, its value seemingly multiplied many times over.
When still no ghost answered, Su Nian wasted no more time. She grabbed the scar-faced ghost and threw him to the floor. "Talk."
The scar-faced ghost’s lips twitched. Cold sweat beaded on his forehead as he answered, "When I died..."
The moment he mentioned the word "died," the atmosphere in the room shifted. A sinister chill crept up Su Nian’s spine.
She could feel the spying gazes from the periphery growing bolder. Ever since entering this park, she had felt a faint, persistent sense of being watched.
’At first, I thought it was this peeping ghost, but now I have this thing in my grasp. So, what could it be?’
Su Nian remained impassive, but the scar-faced ghost seemed to recall something terrible and slowly got to his feet.
His body reverted to its state at the moment of his death. He began to hemorrhage, and his scars split open.
Blood flowed out unceasingly. Su Nian watched with great interest. "I had no idea a pile of chopped meat could bleed so much."
The scar-faced ghost had clearly been trying to scare her, but Su Nian’s comment completely ruined the atmosphere.
"I was a taxi driver. One day, I picked up some young thugs. They wanted to rob me, and when I refused, they killed me. Afraid of getting caught, they cut me into pieces and scattered my remains."
He slowly raised his hands and clutched his head in agony, as if recalling something dreadful.
He whimpered, as if reliving the agony of his tragic death.
But while he was still immersed in his own performance, he suddenly felt a cold sensation in his chest.
The sudden pain made the scar-faced ghost flinch backward. A ragged gasp caught in his throat, and his breathing became heavy and labored.
An extreme pain instantly spread through his entire body. He watched, wide-eyed, as Su Nian plunged the shard of glass into his chest, right where his heart would be.
Blood splattered onto Su Nian, but she just flashed that familiar smile. With one hand, she pinched the scar-faced ghost’s eye.
Then, she abruptly tightened her grip, her thumb and forefinger forcibly tearing the eyeball from its socket.
"So, it was *this* little thing watching me."
Pain contorted the scar-faced ghost’s features. Then he clearly heard the voice right next to his ear.
It was as if a bomb had suddenly been dropped. He panicked. The truth was out.
He was so shocked by Su Nian’s sudden move that he couldn’t speak. He had been secretly watching Su Nian all along. His act of being her number one lackey was just a facade.
He was an undercover agent planted by the Heavenly Dao.
