Chapter 424: Chapter 426: Leaving
Of course, some of these ghosts and ghouls were stronger than others. A powerful one, like the female ghost in white, would spell certain death for any ordinary person.
But against a skeleton man with little resentment, a normal person might have been able to survive if they were tough enough.
But Su Nian was different. To her, all ghosts were treated equally—they were all going to be crushed.
The amusement park had been meticulously prepared by the Heavenly Dao. It was meant to be a place to establish an order of ghosts and subvert the balance of yin and yang. But it never expected this.
Tonight, the tables had completely turned. Su Nian was a one-woman wrecking crew, single-handedly taking on every ghost in the entire park.
The deeper she went, the weirder the ghosts became. And this time, Su Nian had finally met a tough nut to crack.
It was a Snake Woman with an extremely bizarre appearance. She had the head of a woman, but her body was that of a long, slender python covered in strange patterns.
She was disgusting and strange. She even had a full head of long, beautiful hair that looked ridiculously soft and shiny, but her body was so grotesque it made one’s skin crawl.
When Su Nian saw her, she finally felt a sense of unease. But Su Nian just grabbed her, intending to burn the ghost to a crisp.
But the Snake Woman was too fast. Combined with her excellent attitude in admitting defeat, she managed to survive by sacrificing half of her hair to the flames.
The scar-faced male ghost swallowed hard, then puffed out his chest. He had gone from shivering and timidly leading the way at the beginning...
...to becoming a bully relying on another’s power, puffing his chest out with unbelievable pride.
"Let’s go! Next!"
His tone was full of excitement as he led Su Nian deeper into the park.
The farther in they went, the more empty enclosures they saw. ’The Heavenly Dao probably hasn’t collected suitable ghosts for them yet,’ Su Nian guessed.
Su Nian sneered. The rope in her hand now had a whole string of ghosts tied to it. She sat down on a chair.
She sat like a mafia boss, arms folded and legs crossed, with the scar-faced male ghost standing behind her, his expression solemn as he basked in her borrowed power.
In front of her were five dejected-looking ghosts, tied up and dangling, while another three stood pressed against a wall.
The scene looked just like a group of street punks captured and brought before a crime lord for interrogation.
These ghosts had been dead for who knows how many years. Their only excitement was waiting for the Heavenly Dao to toss them little snacks. Otherwise, they just spent their days fighting amongst themselves.
Life was idle and leisurely. Plus, the Heavenly Dao had dangled a huge carrot in front of them: a promise that once the new era was established, they would be invited to become the rulers of the world.
Unfortunately, before they could even get a taste of that carrot, Su Nian had come and turned their world upside down.
And Su Nian was definitely not the type to make empty promises.
Su Nian chuckled coldly and pulled a syringe from her bag.
The scar-faced male ghost glanced at Su Nian, curious. He had no idea where she was getting so many strange and bizarre items.
First it was the matches, then the long rope, and now she had actually pulled out a syringe.
Su Nian casually drew some water from a bottle into the syringe, then nonchalantly squirted it out.
"Have you ever heard of a form of torture? It involves injecting saliva into a person’s body. Want to try it?"
"I’ve never tried it on a ghost before to see what happens!"
Su Nian’s eyes crinkled as she smiled. It was a beautiful smile, and her voice was melodious.
But the ghosts all shuddered in unison. ’Help us! We’ve met a real devil today!’
When no one answered, the smile slowly vanished from Su Nian’s face, replaced by a crazed expression that looked ready to kill them on the spot.
"You’re willing to listen to that damn Heavenly Dao, but not me. Is it because I’m not making you any grand promises?"
As she spoke, Su Nian glanced at the fat ghost she had caught first. Then, she nonchalantly drew more water into the syringe. The threat was obvious.
The fat ghost jolted. It had already experienced the power of Su Nian’s slaps firsthand.
’Who would believe this? The expensive gold tooth I got when I was alive was actually knocked right out of my mouth after I died!’
"I-I believe everything you say! I’m willing to do it all!"
Su Nian’s gaze flickered to the other ghosts. They all shivered and took a step back.
They looked at Su Nian with teary eyes. "We’ll definitely listen to you! We’ll listen to you!"
’SOB... This is terrifying! Who even preys on ghosts these days?’
Su Nian sighed. "There isn’t much I need you to do. I just think it’s a shame. You’ve all woken up, but the others are still lost in their delusions. Still thinking they can create some ’new era.’ Isn’t that ridiculous?"
In truth, creating a new era had nothing to do with them. They were only willing to remain here as ghosts and not reincarnate because of the Heavenly Dao’s promise.
But their happy, carefree days had come to an end today.
Although they were ghosts, they had once been human, so they naturally shared humanity’s baser instincts.
They weren’t on good terms to begin with, so the idea of them sharing weal and woe was a complete sham.
At this thought, the fat ghost’s eyes darted around. He looked at Su Nian cautiously, a fawning expression on his face. "I want to report someone! I know one who’s a total bootlicker for the Heavenly Dao, always going on about creating a new era and rising up to become a master!"
The fat ghost spoke with righteous indignation, as if he were truly standing up for Su Nian. But then his tone shifted. "If I snitch, you can’t hit me anymore, right?"
He was an Evil Ghost, an incarnation of malice to begin with. Now, desperation was making him even more wicked.
The next to speak was the Snake Woman, who had suffered the most at Su Nian’s hands. She looked utterly wretched as she couldn’t help but shout, "I know someone too!"
’Are you kidding me? The reward is not getting beaten up? That’s amazing!’
The Snake Woman shivered just thinking about Su Nian’s emotionless expression as she burned her hair!
"There’s a ghost in the enclosure next to mine! He’s a peeping ghost. When he was alive, he loved spying on people through two-way mirrors, so someone hired a master to seal him inside one."
The skeleton man immediately chimed in, rushing to add his own report. "Yes, yes, that peeping ghost! For the past few years, he always comes over to harass me when I’m putting on my makeup. He interrupts me while I’m admiring my own beauty! You have to teach him a good lesson."
"That’s right, Boss! I strongly suggest you give that peeping ghost a good thrashing!"
The words of these two ghosts resonated with the scar-faced male ghost. In the tone of a true lackey, he addressed Su Nian, automatically accepting her as his boss.
Once the floodgates opened, the other ghosts all began to report and snitch on others to Su Nian.
The Heavenly Dao would never have dreamed that its plan to throw Su Nian in with the ghosts and have them teach her a lesson would turn out like this. It had never intended for Su Nian to leave this amusement park alive.
But against all expectations, Su Nian had turned the tables and become the master here, taking all of its ghosts as her personal lackeys.
