Chapter 415: Chapter 417
His expression was savage, yet held a trace of smugness.
’This one I snatched from the other ghosts. She’s so stupid, actually believing I’m a good guy. What an idiot!’
’But still, this prey was so easy to fool!’
He smirked slyly, but a sudden, inexplicable force seized his neck.
"You just said you’re a ghost? What a coincidence. I already knew!"
Su Nian grinned, her eyes glinting. Her voice was cold, filled with a powerful, oppressive weight.
Then, she grabbed him with both hands. The ghost didn’t even have time to let out a scream before he heard a CRACK from his own neck.
Su Nian savored the sound. Engulfed by it, the ghost went cold in an instant. He had already died once.
Su Nian was now inflicting upon him the ultimate agony of a second death. Pain wracked his body, finally jolting him from his smug stupor.
’Wasn’t she supposed to be human?’
’How can she kill ghosts!?’
Su Nian was even crazier than he had imagined. He looked down at his own neck, now bent into an S-shape, his head grotesquely twisted and dangling.
As his neck snapped, Su Nian let out an eerie laugh.
Her eyes still held a gentle light, yet radiated an unreadable emotion.
"Weren’t you going to lead me out of here? Go on, run."
Su Nian’s bizarre expression was more terrifying than any ghost’s. The ghost himself was petrified, letting out a cry of sheer terror.
’This isn’t some little snack, she’s a demon!’
’And like a stupid dog, I led her right here!’
He didn’t even have time to flee or offer a couple of excuses before Su Nian balled him up into a lump.
Luckily, this ghost was a "dignified" one, completely absorbed in his fantasy of being a domineering CEO. The suit jacket he was wearing now served as the perfect wrapping.
Su Nian picked him up by the suit jacket, hung the bundle from her waist, and continued walking forward.
The ghost’s condescending confidence in his superiority over humans was utterly shattered by Su Nian.
He finally realized that Su Nian was not a normal person at all.
From start to finish, he had been engineering his own doom, luring her to his own den like an idiot.
Next, Su Nian ripped open the gate to the Lion Garden. The gate was made of steel rebar.
Su Nian gripped it. She had to admit, the gate was pretty smart, locking itself automatically as if it knew its master was up to no good.
But the moment Su Nian squeezed, deep finger indentations clearly appeared on the steel.
The ghost’s screams cut off abruptly. He trembled. ’Is she even human?’
’Even a ghost can’t bend this, and she tore it apart with her bare hands!?’
Su Nian looked at him, contemplating whether she should demonstrate her strength on him again.
"You’d better not scream, or you’re next!"
"Okay!"
The ghost forced a stiff smile and silently curled up deeper inside the suit jacket.
His eyes were filled with dread; he looked at Su Nian as if she were a monster.
’I’m utterly shocked. At first glance, she looks like a sweet little bunny, but in reality, she could be my daddy!’
Su Nian strolled on, pulling aside the ruined gate and walking out.
She sensed it. The ghosts in the zoo were much more powerful than the ones in the amusement park.
Before long, a strange pair appeared before her: a little girl in a red dress and an old woman wearing a floral-print apron.
The moment the old woman saw Su Nian, she quickened her pace, pulling the little girl along.
A faint, sly smile touched her face, and her voice lilted upward.
"Niuniu, didn’t you just say you wanted a snack? Well, here one is."
The little girl stopped licking her lollipop. Su Nian saw then that it wasn’t a lollipop at all—it was a human finger.
The little girl laughed happily, grabbing her skirt and even giving a little twirl.
"Yay, my favorite food is finally here! It’s been so long since I’ve eaten."
Su Nian switched into acting mode as well, looking at the two of them with a bewildered expression.
She seemed to be lost in confusion again. But the ghost she was carrying in her hand was struggling to poke its head out, its eyes peering outward. He wasn’t trying to warn her; he just wanted to see who the next unlucky soul would be.
