Chapter 416: Chapter 418: Don’t Even Think About Leaving
The pair’s expressions turned bizarre as they stared intently at Su Nian, as if they had just found an exquisite delicacy.
The little girl stuck out her crimson tongue, licked her lips, and chirped, "What a pretty lady. And your skin is so fair!"
Her voice was cheerful, with a strange, upward lilt.
Su Nian feigned fear, doing her best to shrink away.
The little girl in the red dress closed in, her eyes fixed on Su Nian.
Her voice sounded exceptionally innocent, but her face wore an expression of utmost strangeness.
Though she wasn’t speaking, her face was filled with an innocent smile.
"Come here, pretty lady!"
With a panicked expression, Su Nian immediately turned to flee, but the little girl in the red dress grabbed her clothes.
"Lady, you’re really so fair!"
Su Nian, still acting, pushed her away with a trembling hand.
"Ah! What are you doing? Let me go!"
If Su Nian’s fans had been there, they might have given her an award.
Her acting was so natural. Did she have a death wish?
A blast of cold air washed over them. The little girl’s hand grew colder, and in the next instant, the old crone’s hand grabbed Su Nian as well.
An extreme, sinister cold crept up Su Nian’s shoulder.
The two of them stared at her with deadly intent, forcefully grabbing hold of her.
"Let’s go. We’re taking her home!"
"Grandma, she’s so annoying. She’s not cooperating at all."
"Don’t you worry, sweetie. You’ll definitely eat your fill this time!"
The duo’s words were cryptic, but they made a faint smile touch Su Nian’s lips.
Still, she didn’t forget her role. She let out a few piercing screams, though her acting was so half-hearted that even the ghost in a suit she was carrying couldn’t help but sigh.
’What was I even thinking?’ he wondered. ’How could I have been fooled by such clumsy acting?’
’Looking at her now, she’s clearly smiling!’
The two ghosts didn’t notice a thing, simply continuing to drag Su Nian away by force.
They even started discussing how to eat her.
"Grandma, I want soup!"
"Of course, of course. Don’t you worry. Besides, some parts taste better eaten raw!"
As the old crone spoke, her complexion subtly began to change.
Her face turned a deathly gray. A normal person would have likely fainted from fright by now.
But Su Nian just let out a few half-hearted gasps.
Just as she’d expected, she was dragged into a walled garden.
As she was being brought in, Su Nian glanced up at the sign above the gate.
’Deer Garden?’
But the moment they were inside, the gate slammed shut.
The pair reverted to their true forms, emitting a thick stench of rot as they fixed their gazes on Su Nian.
The little girl’s face was twisted with a malice that didn’t match her age. The lollipop in her hand came into focus; it was a woman’s finger, the nail still painted a lovely, delicate color.
"Excellent. We’ve finally made it to your main base."
Su Nian casually got to her feet. The two ghosts stared intently at her.
The next second, she began disdainfully brushing the dust from her clothes.
Then she broke into a grin, her expression filled with contempt.
"So this is your lair? What a dump!"
Seeing Su Nian’s satisfied expression as the gate shut on its own, the little girl felt a sense of foreboding.
The old crone had already transformed. One of her eyes was now pure red, and she glared viciously at Su Nian.
She even managed a twisted, eager smile. "Now that you’re here, don’t even think about leaving!"
Su Nian nodded in agreement.
"That’s right. Don’t think about leaving."
"Grandma, she’s not an idiot, is she? Is something wrong with her head? If so, I don’t want to eat her brain," the little girl said with a hint of disgust.
The old crone’s hand reached for Su Nian.
"That’s fine. I’ll eat it."
Su Nian nonchalantly raised a hand.
Still smiling, she instantly seized the old crone by the neck.
The old crone’s kindly visage twisted into a grotesque mask, and the marks of Su Nian’s fingers were already visible on her neck.
A suffocating pressure began to choke her. The crone’s expression darkened, but Su Nian’s remained unchanged, her gentle smile never wavering.
Su Nian’s fingers gradually tightened, lifting the crone off the ground.
"You’re here now. So don’t even think about leaving."
