Chapter 406: Chapter 408: Thriller Paradise

’Horror Park?’

Su Nian frowned. Before she could even voice her confusion, a sense of weightlessness washed over her.

When she opened her eyes again, she found herself in a strange place.

This time, there was no livestream, no system. It was as if the world had abandoned Su Nian, leaving her to appear abruptly in this desolate place.

Everything around her pointed to the place’s decay.

Su Nian continued forward, unsure of what the Heavenly Dao was trying to convey.

The area was overgrown with weeds, some of which reached nearly to Su Nian’s waist.

As she forged ahead, she could occasionally see dilapidated fences, rotted and collapsed on the ground.

Horror Park: Mission One—Stay Alive!

A strange voice echoed in Su Nian’s mind. ’Is this the mission issued by the Heavenly Dao?’

’Stay Alive?’

It sounded incredibly simple, but Su Nian sensed something unusual in those two words.

It seemed that staying alive was an incredibly difficult feat in this world.

Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been assigned as the main mission.

The Heavenly Dao wouldn’t be so kind as to let her complete such a simple mission with ease.

The farther she walked, the more unsettled Su Nian became.

The place was utterly desolate, so much so that it gave her a bone-chilling feeling. Though there was nothing in sight, Su Nian felt as if she were being watched—as if countless eyes were spying on her from the shadows.

After scanning her surroundings, Su Nian began to understand what this place used to be. It looked like an amusement park.

’An amusement park?’

But this mission was called Horror Park.

Su Nian continued straight ahead and, next to a clump of weeds, discovered a plastic object.

It was a horse’s head, painted in bright colors. The horse’s design was cute, and it even had a horn on its head.

It looked like a unicorn, with its vibrant colors and cute design.

It instantly made Su Nian think of a certain ride: a carousel. This thing belonged on a carousel.

Its rightful place was to be spun around by happy children, not tossed aside here to be swallowed by weeds.

Su Nian picked up the horse’s head and was lost in thought, but a moment later, a clamor erupted around her.

Su Nian glanced behind her. ’Could it be? Has the thing that’s been following me finally decided to show itself?’

But this time, when she turned her head, the scene had changed completely.

The weeds had vanished. The fences, dilapidated just moments ago, were now repaired and sported a fresh coat of bright paint.

The park was packed with people, and the rides were in full operation. The horse’s head Su Nian had just picked up was also gone, now back on the carousel.

The air was filled with the cheerful laughter of children. A glance around revealed couples intimately sharing ice cream cones and happy families of three playing together. Everything was so peaceful, without a single trace of eeriness or horror.

Su Nian kept walking. The mission had been given so abruptly and confusingly that she didn’t know what to make of it, but she remained on high alert.

Stay Alive!

’In this situation, it seems simple enough,’ she thought. ’But I don’t believe it’s that easy. So what kind of trap has the Heavenly Dao set for me this time?’

Su Nian felt a tug and was stopped by an enthusiastic woman.

"Miss, come try this out! This pirate ship is the newest attraction in our park. The equipment is state-of-the-art, and all the young people love it!"

Su Nian didn’t hear a word the woman said. Her attention was fixed on the hand clutching her clothes.

The hand was ghastly pale and stiff, mottled with purplish-black spots. At the same time, a strange, foul stench assaulted her nose.
