Chapter 288: Chapter 288 Should I Feel Sorry For My Ex-mate?

Maze freewebnoveℓ.com

Kiara feels my discomfort, and steps fully in front of Havoc now. She must have ordered the warriors to split up the fighting women, because two warriors grab Lillith and Mira with their teeth, while two others stand guard in front of me. I laugh in my mates mind.

’And you say we males are possessive, my love.’ I tease her, but Kiara ignores me, her focus trained on the enemy in front of her. She shifts back, and not for the first time I absolutely admire her body with no shame whatsoever. She is gorgeous when she stands in all her glory, but I am also very aware about the male foxes who can see her naked as well, it’s only a second later I realize they have switched places. The females have taken over holding Mira and Lillith, while the two males are standing by me, looking in the other direction. Damn! My respect for them grows.

Kiara walks to a tree trunk, grabbing one of the many cloth bags which have all over the pack grounds, and puts on an oversized t-shirt that goes to her knees. She throws a pair of shorts to me, and some to my guards. She then gives each of the female foxes a t-shirt, silently telling them to shift with her.

Mira is spitting out all sorts of insults at my mates, and when her guard lets her go to shift back, she lunges at Kiara, who swiftly moves out of the way and punches Mira squarely in the face with her fist. Mira falls to the ground, her nose bleeding and possibly broken. Should I feel sorry for my ex-mate? Maybe, but I don’t. She deserves everything Kiara serves to her!

’Aunt, uncle, I have to tell you that we caught Mira on the pack grounds. She just attacked Kiara. She is going to be sentenced to death, and my mate is going to kill her. I am sorry for this, but there is no other way to resolve this anymore.’ I mind link my aunt and uncle, thinking they should at least know, not that anything they say can alter the outcome of this.

’We understand, Maze. We have nothing to say other than sorry for all the trouble she had made and off the heartbreak she has caused you! We love her, but she is too far gone to save.’ My uncle answers back, and I feel aunt Morgan agreeing with her mate in our mind link. I close it down, nodding to Kiara. She grabs Mira off the ground.

"Mira Rose, you are accused of treason, murder, the use of dark magic and trying to steal my mate. We sentence you to death as per our laws." Kiara states, looking at Mira with a pitiful look. Mira spits blood out, glaring at Kiara.

"It wouldn’t have been necessary if you had just stayed away from him. You are not good enough for Maze, and you never will be! He is mine, and he loves me still! He will always love me. I will always be his first love, his first mate. You cannot replace me." Mira spews at Kiara, and I open my mouth to defend myself, but Kiara holds up her hand, her eyes gleaming at me with fierce love and a knowledge of some big secrets. freewebnøvel.com

"I know." She says quietly, taking all of us by surprise.

"Baby! I would never..." I start to say, but Kiara sends me a smile.

"He will always love you for the time you had as children, but the love is not as his mate. You made sure he will only remember you as the friend he had as a kid, and the love he has for you is as his sister’s best friend. You will always be his first love, his first mate. But I am his last. His last love, his last mate. His everything from the moment we met and until we no longer belong to this Mortal world. You are a memory, Mira. A spec in time that will disappear as the years go on. I will endure, and I will always be his last. In everything!" Mira gasps at the words hitting home. Kiara lets her go, and she slumps back to the ground, sobbing and screaming like a petulant child. Kiara looks at her with disgust, then she grabs her head and snaps her neck, and just like that she is gone. I cannot help but feel relieved, but also a little disappointed at the same time.

I mind link a couple of warriors to come and drag Mira’s body back to the pack house, and down into the dungeon. We need to make sure she is not awoken again. Kiara snaps the necklace around her neck, letting it fall to the ground and stomping on it until it cracks and then fully breaks. Mira’s body breaks into flames, and then she is gone. We exchanged looks of surprise. Damn, she was a sneaky bitch, but one down, two to go!
