"So, Allison, tell me more about yourself." I implore the girl, trying to make her feel more at ease. She is very tense and she keeps looking over her shoulder for someone or something.
"Oh, uhm. There is not much to tell your Grace. I’m actually just a nobody." She says, and I lift an eyebrow at her vague answer.
"I sincerely doubt that, but okay. Ah! Here we are." I smile at the figure standing up as we walk over. She is smiling, but it stiffens a bit when she sees Allison at my side. "Luna Allison, this is Luna Hannah. She is mated to Alpha Greg and Luna Allison is mated to the Alpha triplets." Hannah nods to Allison, reaching out a hand tentatively. Allison shakes it just as tentatively. Inside I want to scream at them to stop being so skittish, but some part of me know where they are coming from. "Please sit down. I’m sorry, where are my manners?" Luna Hannah says with a gesture to the blanket on the ground. "I was just reading a book when you mindlinked me, your Grace." She continues. Allison looks at the book, her eyes lighting up.
"Oh! That is a wonderful book. I read it a few times myself. The narration and storyline are very captivating." Hannah nods.
"Did you see it coming that Ash would turn on Oliver like that? Or how they had to work together to get Gaia back?" Allison shakes her head, giggling.
"No, but I rather enjoyed their squabbling a lot. It kinda reminds me of my mates to be honest." Hannah blush.
"I can’t imagine how it must be having three of them." Allison rolls her eyes.
"Exhausting, thrilling and agitating for sure. They are the biggest pain in my ass, but they also hold so many good qualities."
"Even Alpha moodkill?" I ask, and Allison actually laughs at my name for the eldest triplet.
"He is not that bad, your Grace, but he is under a lot of pressure. His brothers have decided to defy their parents. Some more openly than others." Her voice sounds annoyed at the last statement. "But they are both trying a lot. It’s not as easy for Ethan. He is the eldest and his parents expect him to always be a good example for his brothers and the pack. His mother is especially against this union. She wants them to mate with this she-wolf from another pack. She is an Alpha’s daughter, and her parents are close friends with the guys’ parents." She sighs. Hannah grabs her hand.
"I am so sorry to hear that. That must be very confusing and strenuous." Allison nods as a stray tear slides down her cheek.
"They really are trying." She repeats. "Elijah claimed me outright, and he has said to his parents and brothers that he’ll denounce his Alpha title to be with me if they decide to reject me. He will never accept that. He is so open and affectionate. Ezra is more torn between his brothers. He is there for me, but it’s more in private, which gives certain she-wolves ideas." Now she sounds outright angry, which I cannot even fault her. I would have killed them already if they got ideas about Maze. "Sorry, it was not supposed to be a pity party for the poor orphan fox girl." She sighs and is about to stand when Hannah opens her mouth.
"I’m wolfless, if that makes you feel better and my mate’s father only gives over the title because he is convinced that the King and Queen will take it away if Greg does not sever his ties with me. He wants me dead for being an ’abomination’." Allison looks at Hannah with an open mouth.
"What the actual fuck?! That’s ridiculous. You are not an abomination!" She says fiercely, her eyes hard with anger. Hannah shrugs. I look between them.
"Uhm. My pack hated me, my first mate rejected me, Maze initially didn’t want me and was hung up on his ex mate. She should be dead, but she is not and is now back to kill me and get back with Maze. Oh and old enemies who strive for my families lives are back and working with the demon who brought main bitch Mira back from the fucking dead." Both women look at each other.
"You win." They say together and then we all burst out laughing.
"Seriously, things are more than crazy around here. That’s why we needed to gather the Alpha’s and have this meeting."
We keep talking, laughing and both Allison and Hannah are opening up when someone buzzes in my head. I blink several times before looking around. Something suddenly seems off. Both women look at me, they sense it too I think. Or they sense I am on my guard.
’Maze get out here!’ I mindlink my mate, jumping to my feet and grabbing both Luna’s just in time as a demon jumps into our line of sight. I narrow my eyes. Oh fuck no! The demon grins.
"Well, well. Delicious little pussycats. Mmmh." He says, licking his lips. I gag. Raven is absolutely furious. More demons and rogues cross the borders and we are officially under attack. I shift into Raven, ordering Hannah and Allison stay behind me. I kill the disgusting demon in front of me first, retracting to protect the girls. A shift in the aura behind me has me look over my shoulder. A dark blue fox is standing slightly in front of Hannah. Her fur has silver stripes down her back and her paws are silver as well. And she is sporting four tails. I have nine myself, which is what tells other foxes I am the Queen when we are shifted, which means she is ranked. Four tails are unusual as the common fox shifter will have one or two. The fox has bright orange eyes, and they are focused on the fight ahead of us.
