The meeting was endless and tedious, but also informative. The disgusting Alpha Greg kept his filthy mouth shut under the rest of this day’s meeting. I was hoping he would be stupid enough to piss someone else off as Maze made it abundantly clear he does not want me to put the Alpha in his place. He would rather we didn’t have more fights for titles or death. I couldn’t help but chuckle when he said that and I asked him if I was too wild for him? He just growled and pinned me against the wall in our room. Something I sincerely love when he does!
We retreated before another outdoor dinner tonight with everyone, and opted for some much needed mate time in our room, but we didn’t get too far in our little dominance adventures before a guard mindlinks us.
’I am sorry to disturb your Graces, but the Alpha’s of Blue Ridge just arrived. They apologized for being late, but they were dealing with urgent pack matters.’ I raise an eyebrow at Maze. Blue Ridge? I don’t think I know of this pack or their Alpha’s. It sounds like they have more than one? I give Maze a look as he sighs.
"I didn’t think they would come. They are notorious for not showing up to such things as this."
"Who are they?" I ask, gesturing for him to let me down.
"My cousins on my father’s side. They are great Alpha’s, but they are very set in their ways as their father is. He was one of the few who refused to acknowledge me as the new King, especially when I got you as my second chance. He is a firm believer in the matebond, but only between wolf and wolf." I nod with wide eyes.
"I wonder why they are here then? Maybe to challenge you? How many are they? Twins?"
"Triplets. Ethan is the eldest and a right pain in my ass. Everything has to be checked and measured within the inner and outer paclaws. Then there’s Ezra, who is the middle triplet. He is nice and all, a little hotheaded and a fierce fighter, but he is also very torn between his rule-by-the-book big brother, and their mama’s boy and follow-your-heart little brother Elijah. They are a sight to see when they argue for sure." I laugh as we descend the stairs. Maze already allowed the Alpha’s to enter the pack, so we just need to greet them.
"Where are we going to house them?" I ask, and Maze groans.
"In one of the bigger townhomes close to the packhouse." I nod, mindlinking James to check what is available and make sure Omega’s make it ready for the new arrivals immediately.
The car park in front of us and three huge men get out. I look at Maze’s annoyed look and interlock our fingers. He relaxes slightly and squeezes my hand in gratitude. The men approach us, and they are triplets alright. All of them look alike; 6.4, broad shoulders, muscles rippling under their shirts, black hair and baby blue eyes. Damn! Nothing compared to my Maze, but still. They must have their pick and choose from the women. I hope not, but men will be men I guess.
"Welcome Alpha Ethan, Alpha Ezra and Alpha Elijah." I say with a smile, forcing them to look at me. The eldest swallowed slightly before answering politely, as he shook our hands. His brothers follow suit, but they seem less hostile or uptight than him. Especially the youngest of the three. His smile is wide as he shakes my hand and compliments my looks. Then he teases Maze, who just rolls his eyes.
"I am happy you could make it, cousins, but I didn’t think you would come. You usually do not bother with trivial stuff like this?" I cock my head to the side, then I smell her. I push my way through the men, walking to the car. I open the door, smiling at the young woman inside.
"Hi! Welcome to our pack. Come on out, we will not hurt you!" I tell her, gesturing for her to come out. Maze just stands back, asking all sorts of questions to his cousins.
"We need your help, Maze." Alpha Elijah says, opening the door on the other side of the car and helping the woman out. She is gorgeous with curves like me, long curly hair in the shade of melted caramel and eyes matching her hair. She looks down, keeping close to Elijah. Ezra joins her other side, while Ethan stays with Maze. The longing in his eyes is not to be mistaken, but he is holding back for some reason. I don’t think he has fully accepted her?
"She is your mate?" I ask, crossing my arms. The two youngest Alpha’s nod, Elijah pulling her close to him. "And she is a fox?!" That was not really a question but more of a statement. They nod again.
"We want her as our Luna, but our parents. Mom is not thrilled by the idea, but she is willing to do anything for baby boy Elijah, dad and Ethan are the real trouble." Ezra explains, sending his big brother an annoyed look. Ethan growls at the accusation. I groan. Fucking great! Just what we need. More fucking complications. "I will say this one time Alpha Ethan; you behave while you on my pack grounds or so help me Goddesses I will kick your ass from here to the divine realms and back! I am done with arrogant asshole Alpha’s!" I tell him, pointing a finger in his direction. He raises two hands, taking a step back.
"I would never harm her. But I am not sure she is fit to be our Luna, is all." He says hurriedly, wincing when he feels the pain through their mate bond. So, he is convinced his daddy is right in what I assume is some wolf purity nonsense. UGH!
"You can sleep in a room on the Omega floor in the packhouse. And you three will have a townhome." I mindlink James to make a room ready, as the Alpha protests. I turn on my heel, and am within reaching distance before he knows what is going on. I grab his ear, dragging his face down to mine. My eyes glow as Winter makes herself present and releases our entire aura.
"I am done playing nice with entitled Alpha assholes such as yourself, sir. So either you thank me for a room, or you can sleep outside on the fucking ground! That woman is a gift from not one but two fucking Goddeses and you don’t know if she will be a fit Luna. Well fuck that and fuck you!" I keep him in eyesight for a while longer until he submits to me.
From the packhouse James comes out, a small smirk playing on his lips. He probably saw everything. Alpha Ethan tries to ask Maze if he will let his woman do and speak like that, and Maze just confirms that he absolutely will.
"Have you forgotten what my mother is like?" He asks, and the Alpha winces again. "Yeah, I didn’t think so. Kiara is like her but with smaller patience for idiots and powers." James tells Alpha Ethan to follow him, and he moves into the packhouse with a last look at his mate and his brothers.
"Do any of you have any problems with her or me?" I ask them aggressively. Maze wraps his arms around me. He knows I am not in a mood to be handling more entitled morons, and at some point I will kill someone. Both of the Alpha’s shake their heads.
"Right! Now that I have dealt with Alpha idiot, may I ask what your name is sweetheart?" I ask, trying to calm myself and Winter. She is very agitated because of the implications of Alpha Ethan’s words. He doesn’t think his mate is fit as a Luna, which most likely means he doesn’t think I am fit as the Queen. freewebnσvel.cøm
"My name is Allison, my Queen. My fox is called Ruby." Oh, she sounds like such a sweet girl!
"Well Allison, I am delighted to meet you! And I hope to meet Ruby before you go home. As for your situation; it will have to wait until morning. Right now we need to update you on a threat to our packs and then there’s an outdoor dinner tonight." I think for a second. "I think Maze and the boys can update each other actually. I have someone I want you to meet!" I grab her hand and drag her with me, disregarding her mates entirely and mindlinking Maze where we are going. He is chuckling in my mind, and telling me I am going to be the death of him, but what else is new around here?
