I decide to take a walk around the area surrounding our campsite, and when I come back to my room, Lilith is waiting for me. She has visible marks on her face and arms. I cringe for her. They look painful. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
"So he punished you for disobeying orders?" I ask, sitting in the chair opposite her. She nods. "I didn’t rat you out, believe it or not." I continue and she nods again.
"I know you didn’t. And I am grateful you kept your end of the deal." She says with a slight slur. I look at her face and her lips are swollen slightly, and one of her eyes is already sporting different colors.
"What happened?" I ask, and she shrugs with a wince. She must have really hauled her through the whole ordeal. He was more angry than I thought he was.
"He was waiting for me in my room when I came back. He asked where I had been and I answered with ’spy work’, but he didn’t buy it. He beat me thoroughly before asking again. I told him I traveled to the underworld to get a feeling about Narine. He beat me some more for doing such a thing without his permission." I swallow, and an inch of sympathy overwhelms me. "I told him what I had found out, and then he told me to see a healer to get myself in order, but only places no one can see. I have to be an example for a while."
"Did you find out what the princess thing is about?" I ask and she nods.
"But before I tell you, I have a question for you?!" I raise an eyebrow, but I do not say anything. "Why was Narine screaming profanities at you outside?" I roll my eyes and reiterate our rather one sided conversation.
"So, she thinks she can get Magoth to remove you?" She asks and I shrug. "Well, she can’t. You have been my greatest enemy and challenge, Mira. I know he appreciates us fighting over him. If we don’t fight Narine and just comply, he will drop her sorry ass as quickly as he can." A sinister smile appears on my lips. I had not considered that, but Lillith is right. One thing Magoth loves the most is flaunting his favoritism in our faces and watching the other squirm.
"You are not as stupid as you look, Lilith." I tell her, pouring her a glass of water. She laughs. It sounds more like a bark and a whimper.
"Thank you, I guess." She takes a sip of the water. "So, as to what I found out." She talks for the better part of an hour. When she is done my jaw is on the ground. I thought I was fucked up, but it seems I am a saint compared to that crazy demon bitch.
"Whoah, that is insane!" I say and Lillith just salutes me with her water.
"I know, and it’s not even everything. The rest is just hearsay and not really important, but it paints an even crazier picture of that bitch. We’ll have to be careful with her, and possibly work together to get rid of her. I heard down there that Queen Willow, former Queen Abigail and Queen Kiara all want her dead, and will willingly kill her for us." I contemplate what she is saying, not even commenting on the ’Queen Kiara’ part. This is more important.
"We’ll have to play really nice here, and do whatever they say. Bide our time." Lilith agrees, and we go our separate ways.
"Mira, are you here?" Magoth’s voice sounds outside my room an hour later. I have been permitted to walk outside for a bit during each day, and otherwise stay in my room. Not something I have been happy about, but after my talk with Lillith I know how important it is to comply and do as he says.
"Yes, Master." I reply as I open the door. Magoth looks into my room, and then he nods with a smile.
"Good pet. Maybe I will let you join me for dinner tonight if you keep being a good little kitten." I bite back my sarcastic answer, and give him a small smile and glance through my eyelashes.
"I will do my best, Master." I tell him, and he cackles.
"That’s a good kitten. We are not far from moving out. Only a couple more days. I have news later. Now that Lillith has graced us with her presence we can finally make our move." I nod with wide innocent eyes. "They are having an Alpha gathering. I think we need to teach them a lesson that they are not safe at any time. What do you think, kitten?" I smirk.
"I think that you are a genius, Master." I tell him, swallowing the bile. He is a sadistic asshole, but he knows that and me pointing it out does nothing but turn him on. He strokes my hair.
"Yes I am. I think we need Lillith to prove her worth, huh. She needs to be taught a lesson in loyalty." I am starting to wonder why he is standing here and telling me this? But whatever floats his boat I guess.
"What do you want her to do?" I ask, trying to sound curious, but not too much. Magoth lets his hand fall.
"It’s going to be a surprise, kitten. Patience." Then he leaves and I close the door with a sigh. I just want Kiara to die, so I can be the Queen I was always meant to be. This is getting really complicated.
