Chapter 257: Chapter 257 We Are Not Going To Kill You
Kiara
These women have not been taught in fighting, and had a serious disadvantage, but it is as it is. I cannot feel pity for them as they attacked me first. Winter turns to the girl, who is crying now with her hands up. She is on her knees.
"Please spare me. I am sorry." Winter snorts.
’What do you want to do, Kiara?’ She asks me, and I contemplate for a second. Then an idea strikes me. I mindlink Maze, who nods from the crowd, coming into the bloody circle of death.
"We are not going to kill you, but you are hereby classified as a rogue, until the day you can prove that you mean no danger or harm to others." Tears stream down her cheeks now, but there is no malice in her. I shift back, Maze throws the blanket he had in his hands over my naked form, and I fall to my knees as well.
"Please look me in the eyes." I tell her, and she does. Something stirs inside me, and suddenly I know what happened. "We’re not going to classify you as a rogue, as you only followed the command of your female Beta, which any pack member knows you cannot refuse without repercussions. What is your name, sweetie?"
"Amanda, Luna Queen." She says, her eyes meeting me with nothing but fear and sadness. I nod, reaching a hand up. Maze helps me to my feet, and I help her. "How old are you Amanda?" I ask, and she tells me she is 18, just shifted for the first time, which is why she was too afraid of Melissa. Naturally. "If you want you are welcome to join our pack. We leave tonight, and we would be honored to have someone as you with us. Do you have any special skills?" She lights up.
"I love to bake, Luna Queen." My dad chuckles, putting a blanket over her girl, as he pats her shoulder. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
"Her baking is to die for, no pun intended." He says as mom and Benedict nod. Amanda blushes under their praise. Maze kisses my temple, silently telling me I am in charge here.
"White Mountain pack!" I say with a loud and clear voice. "We have decided, in agreement with a request from the Alpha couple, that this pack no longer benefits our community. We have promises from old home packs, neighbors etc that they will take you in, but no more than a handful each. You have much to learn, as today has proven. We are sad to see my old pack dismantled like this, but the time is up for acceptance and friendship instead of fear, ignorance and insubordination. If we, my mate and I, even here so much as a whisper about anyone misbehaving or creating trouble in their new packs, we will personally handle you." People are so quiet now. Women are crying into their mates, men are glaring at me, but this decision is final. Even though this was not the way we wanted to do this, we know we have to nip it in the butt.
"Warriors are currently arriving at the pack border along with my Beta’s and their mate. They will oversee that this happens within the next week, and these grounds are to be vacant. They are now under the governance of the Royal’s. And no, Kiara and I did not make this decision alone. We were asked by your leaders because they know this pack is too far gone at this point. You are all dismissed. People who want to join our pack can come forward, but know that if Kiara even wrinkles her nose, you are never allowed on our pack grounds. I’ve had it with bullies and morons."
We go back to the packhouse so I can change and have a shower. Afterwards we denounce my parents, the Gamma’s and the Beta. Callan asks, along with Hector and Dina if they can join our pack, and we take a blood oath on them never trying to revolt or hold a ranked position while a member of our pack. They do it gladly, and we welcome them into our pack with the same timeline we gave Amanda - we’re leaving tonight. They have no problem with that either.
"Hector, what will your parents say?" I ask him and he rolls his eyes.
"I have no contact with them. After I met Dina they tried to get her to reject me, when I utterly refused to reject her. And when that didn’t happen they threatened to disinherit me. I stopped contact after that! Dina is my everything." The look he gives her tells us everything we need to know. We also talked a bit with Callan and I asked him about his loss of mate, but he said their bond was already so broken because of her infidelity that he hardly felt her die. And he hopes to have a second chance at some point. He seems like a good guy, who has grown up a lot over the years.
The rest of the afternoon consists of people wanting to join our pack, people leaving and joining other packs. Leon and Kristian arrive with Callie and the warriors not long after we started audiences for people wanting to join us. They are a bit bummed they are not going to be able to attend tomorrow evening until I point out Callie should be able to teleport as she is a fae. She winks at her mates, and they drop their jaws which makes her, Frida and I burst out laughing.
By nightfall we eat a silent diner, and then we say goodbye for now to Kristian, Leon, Callie and the warriors. They are coming back within the week when the last pack members are gone, and Callie has sealed off the backgrounds.
