After making love to my gorgeous Luna all night, I finally let her sleep in the wee hours of the morning. She is a fucking trooper, and I love her so damn much! The fact that it has taken me this long to realize how much she means to me is just plain stupid and ridiculous on my part, but I know and I will never let her down again.
We will have fights, but that is a couples thing, not something unique to us. I stare down at my sleeping woman, marveling at her effortless beauty. I caress her cheek with a finger, not able to keep my hands off her, and relish in the sparks from the mate bond. She is my everything. Havoc purrs in delight at the sight and feeling of our mate.
’We are lucky bastards!’ He comments. I stifle a chuckle, not wanting to wake her up.
After another couple of minutes being a creep and looking at my sleeping mate, I roll over and grab my phone. It’s only 5.30am, but I shoot a text to my sister nonetheless hoping she is up. I need to speak to her, and I need to ask her some important questions.
After a minute or so she texts me back. I smile, jotting down a note for Kiara about where I am, putting on some sweats and a t-shirt before going to my office. I sit in front of the crystal when the magical call goes through. Amber has made it possible for her to text or talk on the phone, but if we want to see each other we still have to use the crystals.
"You are up early today, brother." Amber smiles at her end. I can hear the kids in the background playing and giggling. I raise an eyebrow.
"I am not the only one, sis." I say back, as she chuckles.
"What can I do for you today, Maze?" She asks, and I sigh. freewebnøvel.coɱ
"I fucked up with Kiara again..." She opens her mouth. "But I solved it again as well." I tell her before she can yell at me.
"Maze, you need to be careful. Kiara is your mate, but that doesn’t mean she won’t reject your ass if you don’t look out." Amber says with a disappointed glint in her eyes. I nod. I know this. I am embarrassingly aware of the fact that I might lose my woman if I am not careful.
"I know, Amber." I tell her, she crosses her arms.
"What the hell happened this time?" She asks, giving me a piercing stare. I explain everything that happened yesterday, from meeting Callie to my Gamma’s finding their mate who was a rogue. Me and Havoc overreacted and took it out on Kiara. How Kiara lost her patience with us and put us in our place. And last but not least, how she took charge and made Elena a member of our pack before she came to scream at me.
Amber is rolling over in a fit of uncontrolled laughter when I am done.
"Fuck you made an ass of yourself, Maze." She says, trying very hard to stay serious.
"He also made it up to me, so we are good." My angel’s voice echoes from the door. I hadn’t even noticed she was standing there. I smile at her, cocking my head to the side while my eyes dance in happiness.
"How much did you hear, you little minx?" I ask with a chuckle. She matches my happiness as she replies.
"Enough." She answers with a sassy expression. "I just came to say hi to Amber." She walks to my side of the table and waves at the crystal.
"Hi sweetie! Keep my brother on his toes for me." Amber greets. Kiara makes a salute, kisses my cheek and says she’ll take a bubble bath. She closed the door on her way out with a small wink over her shoulder.
"So, what did you want to ask me, Maze?" Amber asks, ripping me out of my thoughts of my naked mate in the bathtub. Oh I am going to get her back for that little stunt.
"When do you think I can propose to Kiara? And I want you all to come to her Luna ceremony, which will also be the Beta and Gamma ceremony as well." Amber leans back in her chair.
"That really depends on you guys. Do you think she would want it in front of the entire pack, or?" I shake my head.
"No. I thought while you were here we could have a family dinner and I would do it then, either before or after the ceremony. I think she is stressing enough about her vows and the shifting of the night - and shopping. She doesn’t even know I am planning ahead yet." Amber is quiet for a minute.
"I think it is great that you want to propose, but I am unsure how and when to do it. Maybe try to stay on her good side for more than three days in a row before you decide." I make a face at her that makes her laugh.
"I mean it, Maze. You need to be sure of yourself and her before you take this step. I love Kiara, but you have been awful to her, and that has to change before you ask her to be your wife." I nod, contemplating.
